After 6 weeks of calling DOS twice a week and hearing the same answer every time, I finally heard something different today: "Congratulations ma'am, your visa was issued today." Yay! We're hoping the passports will be delivered quickly and plan to POE sometime in the next 10 days. Still waiting... <sigh> There was an issue with my underlying medical condition and I had to have the TB sputum test done to rule out TB. 8 loooooong weeks for results! Blah. Even though I interviewed in April, I just got the medical approval this week. I sent the medicals and the passports (for my 2 kids and me) to the consulate yesterday. Now I just need to wait for them to print the visas and send them back. I'm really hoping to be able to POE in mid September... 13 months after starting this journey. I sent Packet 3 10 days ago, but so far the embassy hasn't logged it into their system, and I can't schedule the interview or medical until they do, so more waiting for me. It's a good thing I had so much experience with waiting before the NOA2 arrived! So, tell me... for those of you gathering interview documents now. Does your embassy need the I-134 or the I-864 for the K1 interview? I'm doing a little informal poll, so if you wouldn't mind sharing, that would be cool. My fiance and I are freaking out checking our phones/emails/UCIS site non-stop the last few business days as I've been seeing approvals for around my date on VJ. My best advice... stop checking. About a week before my 5 month "deadline", I was checking like a freak, constantly. Then the date passed and I got so sad. I realized I was putting too much stress on the whole thing and decided to make myself go 1 week without looking -- for my own sanity. 3 days later, I got the email. Really, relax. My fiance read it to me after midnight and hasn't forwarded it to me yet, so forgive me, but I'm going on sleepy memory.... The gist of it was that the petition had been received and was being forwarded to the California Service Center. Also that we/he would be receiving a hard copy of the notification in the mail and there would be a number on it that we/he can use on the web site to track the petition and not to try to use the web site until the hard copy is received. I did read that actually, but I wondered, since it says "temporary exemption", how it works from that point on. I would hope the rest of the process would go as 'normal', but whether one would have the xray in the US and then forward it to USCIS, or... I don't know. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	medical - xrays deferred... and then what?	Hi VJ'ers! Hypothetical question for you all. If I were to be pregnant at the time of my medical exam and I opted to have the xrays deferred, what exactly does that mean? I mean, I get that the xrays wouldn't be done at the time of the exam, but what happens next? Would my K1 application be put on hold until after the babe arrives and the xrays are done, or would I continue with the interview and POE as planned and then get xrays done after the babe arrives and we're in the US? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	K1 filing after marriage question	As I understand it, you have to get married within 90 days of arrival, but you do not have to file AOS within that period. You have time to wait for the documentation you need. I realize that waiting to file will push back your approval dates for AP/EAD, but I wouldn't think it would be any longer than if you filed now and got an RFE for the missing documents. I would wait.
