Yay! Lily, I just caught this post now. Congratulations, I'm so pleased for you and Jim! smile.gif As you can see, Mark and I moved to Southern California last year for his job. Lovely weather down here. But I do admit I miss how beautiful the mountains are in Salt Lake. Our dog certainly appreciates no longer having to go for walks out in the dark and snow though laughing.gif.

About the photos you sent: are they regular pictures, with you and your husband or they are the passport style photos? Do I need to send 2 passport style photos or that was dropped?

Thanks in advance!

The photo's were just regular pictures of us and us with family members. As was already mentioned, they'll take pics at biometrics from what I understand.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionSubmitting for Removal of Conditions, a few last min q's!
Well, the time has finally come for me to file for removal of conditions on my greencard, yay! Not very happy about how much they raised the prices, but hey, I'm sure we are all in the same boat there. wink.gif

I am almost done with getting together everything for our packet (going to try and get it out tomorrow or Friday), but I just had a few questions I was wondering if anyone knew the answers to the following questions:

Is everything written from US spouse's POV (e.g. This is a picture of myself (USC) and my wife on vacation), the cover letter, etc.?
Do I need to include a copy or an original of our marriage certificate?
Do I need a copy of my passport?

I think those are the most prominent questions I have right now, I will add more if I think of anything. And maybe a list of evidence, to make sure I haven't missed anything of vital importance from the package. If anyone could help me out with these questions I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

I would consider other explanation than just misreading or not knowing when to send. (In court lack of knowledge is not a defence strategy too) It is almost 2 months late. I usually hate bs and prefer to go by "whatever is the situation", but this is a shaky ground in this situation. Misreading does not sound as a valid reason to me. If CIS officer has a sence of humor, might be alright. But what if your file gets to some scrupoulus person? I dont know but maybe some medical reason or something else

Yes, because lying to the USCIS always makes things better. wink.gif

I don't know what I would do in the OPs situation, but I do agree she should get the paperwork sent out as soon as she can. I think it would be near impossible and cause a huge fee increase if they had to notify everyone of their expiring legal status in the US, just think of how many more people there are in the immigration system here than in Australia. It's not surprising that they can't send out notifications to everyone and appoint them an case handler to ask questions. If they did I can't begin to imagine how much they would ask for to file the forms!

06/19/2008 Package finally arrives at Service Center

09/05/2008 Card Production Ordered!

This is the way it should be, wife is a USC now and they took her ten year green card back, she didn't have it for barely three months. We submitted the I-751 way back in March of 2007 with a constant battle to get that card with the DMV and her employer on her back. no request for evidence, just super darn slow, and lots of stress with it. If the USCIS says to apply 90 days before the card expires, should get you that new card within that period. And with all the proof and background checks we had to submit to get that conditional card, that was all BS, same evidence all over again with the exception of one or two new tax returns.

Then with the USC, you start from scratch again, wife said she saw her folder, a stack of evidence over three inches high, 98% of it was repeats. Hopefully in another week she will get her US passport, dealing with the DOS is just as bad and hoping they do not lose her 400 buck certificate of citizenship. What a battle.

Yeah, it seems ridiculous to only have the 10 year card for one year. Let alone for 3 months, I hope your wife gets her naturalisation certificate quickly.

i understand where he is coming from. I am so in love with my fiance and dying to marry him, but i wish we could have more time together in person before marriage. its going to be a bit of challenge cause its kinda nice to ease into something so huge. does that make sense? you know, enjoy courtship, enjoy being engaged. thats kinda a step we have to skip in his process...so yeah, i wouldnt take offense to that. Its understandable imo.

PhilippinesA wedding proposal death..she was a filipina who went in USA on k1
QUOTE (God @ Dec 4 2008, 06:00 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Woman swept to sea during proposal on Oregon coast

A romantic marriage proposal on the Oregon coast turned deadly for the bride-to-be when a wave swept her out to sea. Scott Napper had taken 22-year-old Leafil Alforque to Proposal Rock near Neskowin Beach to pop the question at a place that got its name from couples ready to marry. Napper and Alforque had been dating since they met on the Internet in 2005.

But Alforque had arrived in Oregon on a visa from the Philippines just three days before the fateful trip to the coast.

Napper said the tide had receded around Proposal Rock on Saturday when the couple began to walk to it. He planned to propose and give her the ring he carried in his pocket.

About 10 feet from the rock, a wave about 3 feet high suddenly came toward them.

"I turned into it to keep from getting pulled under it," Napper said.

By the time he turned to find Alforque, only 4-foot-11 and 93 pounds, she had been caught by the receding waters.

"She was about 30 feet away, getting swept away," Napper said.

The 45-year-old Silverton man tore off his jacket to get rid of any extra weight, and when he looked up again she was gone.

"That's the last I saw of her," he said in an interview Wednesday, breaking into tears.

Emergency personnel called by a someone on the beach arrived within minutes. His own phone no longer worked after being exposed to the water.

Along with rescuers, he searched for any sign of Alforque.

"I yelled for her," he said. "I was praying to God."

At one point, he saw someone wearing red — the color of her jacket — on the shore signaling for him. But he quickly realized it was a rescuer.

Thick fog and dangerous water conditions hampered the rescue efforts before the search was suspended on Monday.

Her 25-year-old sister, Nova Alforque, said the family hopes the body can be recovered.

"My mother is always crying, day and night," Nova Alforque said by telephone from the Philippines. "She wants my sister back. Even if she is dead, she wants her body to bury."

The Tillamook County Sheriff's Office is routinely checking the beach and looking for possible witnesses, said Sheriff Todd Anderson.

Police don't suspect foul play, he said.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionInfopass appointment yesterday to inquire about biometrics
My wife and I had an infopass appointment yesterday in Santa Ana, CA to inquire about her biometric appointment. She had received her NOA1 on Sept 19. The lady officer checked and said that she does not see any appointment mailed yet but we can have the biometrics done now if we want. My wife said that would be fine. The officer asked if my wife had her passport with her. She did and handed it over to the officer. We were told to wait and that we will be called shortly. The officer called my wife over a few minutes later and handed her a biometrics appointment for an ASC couple of miles away and gave her passport back with a stamp of 'temporary green card' good for a year from yesterday.

There's no need to block out the SS number. They already have that on documents that your fiance has had to send anyway. I would however and did block out all my account numbers, routing numbers etc..There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that they would need that for. As long as they have the ITR's, W2's. letter from employer and the letter from the bank with the requested info from the I-134 you will be fine. Good luck.

Mike

Hi Mike, I personally did not want to block out any details such as his SSN and bank account numbers because I wouldn't want the pre-screener nor the consul to use that against us. I would want everything flawless as much as possible. I have his ITR's, letter from employer, letters from the banks, stocks and bonds but we don't have any W2s to show because he took a well earned vacation previous years. Plus my fiance just started working this December of 2008. I hope his not having W2s will not be a problem since we have letters from his banks showing that he has more than enough funds.
I really hope and pray for a positive outcome on our interview day.
Thank you very much Mike for responding to my inquiry.

I think it's pretty pointless to black out important informations on the documents.USCIS is working with the FBI and some people would even put highlights on their documents so it will be easy for the adjudicators to read/find those important infos. They need to verify the validity of the documents you are going to submit and hiding account numbers/SSN would just cause delays they might send you RFE for it.Good luck.

Hi Bituin, what you just said are my exact sentiments but I cannot blame my fiance for having second thoughts whether or not he should block his SSN for identity theft purposes because it just happened to him recently. I guess, my fiance would make this as an exception. Plus an RFE being given is not what we would want to happen to us.
Many thanks for your advise Bituin. Cheers!
