K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	6+ months waiting Club	Can you not have any touches and still have them working on your case? Could i be in security checks without them scanning my file? i dont understand the no touches thing. my last touch was july 29. according to what i've read, every time they touch/move your file they scan it. ok, quick story. Couple yrs back, dentist said i might have mouth cancer so i needed a referral to an oral surgeon and get a biopsy. I was terrified of course. the dentist was to send me the referral. Long story short, after many phone calls to the dentist asking about my referral, being scared, and having them say, "i'm so sorry! Its on the way!" or "we just mailed it!" after a month or two i went down there to the dentist's and I watched them pull my referral out of old dusty files, it hadn't even been filled out! they had lied to me every time i called. So i had to sit there and watch her fill it out and hand it to me. Ok, that being said, thats what I think of when I think of this process. I picture our files sitting there and them just lying to us because they can't be bothered. oh and i was ok in the end, no cancer or anything like that. Edited by PB&JAM, 29 January 2009 - 05:25 PM. Maybe try calling with your "Received Date" from your NOA1 if that was before July 15. I know, i wanted to say, 'but people in october and november are getting approved". the guy was not the brightest bulb on the tree and didnt know what he was talking about. he was reading what my status says online in a robotic voice: "Current Status: Case received and pending. On July 23, 2008, we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case." I said, yes thats correct. thats what the website says. Can you tell me anything else, am i in security checks? Then he said, 'well pending means we havent made a decision on your case yet, so its pending." (haha, really! no kidding!) 'I said 'yes its pending, and the website says to contact you after 6 months'. He was clueless and said, well we are working on July 15 cases at VSC. I said, "i'm at CSC". He said irritably, "yes, thats what i said, CSC." haha. so idk. How does it work? Sender's name ?? Enter receiver ID ??? Do I put in my name? Or NVC? USA or his country? Is receipt number my case number on my NOA, the WAC number? I know I need the affidavit of support, noa2, letter of intent, proof of ongoing relationship, etc. If anyone can help...sorry for the trouble. I'm confused about a few things. Do I go to the bank and ask for something? Do I need bank statements? Do i need tax transcripts? Does that mean paycheck stubs or past tax forms? how do i get them? Items of value? So happy!! :-) I still have to wait till June to go out to the US, but feels like a weight off my shoulders. Turned out the whole embassy interview wasnt bad at all, and I completely went over the top in preparation for it, in terms of documents and evidence..but better safe than sorry. We got our NOA 2 on March 18, less than 70 days since NOA 1 and without any updates to the electronic notification systems. Not even a single touch since 1/9/09 when they cashed the check. For what it's worth, I don't care if they don't scan my packet or send me an e-mail, just as long as they keep up the pace at CSC and mail me the NOA 2! Congrats!!!! Guess I'll wait another couple of weeks and call again. Yes, this is typical to tell you that you are in a normal waiting period. Just know they that dont have any more info then you do! I called them 6 months and 1 week into it and they told me the same thing. Have you tried writing your congressman? They were pretty quick in getting back to me (my senator tho got back to me well after I got approved.). I got approved at 219 days. Not sure why I got approved suddenly. I had no "updates" and case still says "pending". I never got an email, our noa2 just came in the mail randomly one day (i was in UK visiting when it came so my sister texted me to tell me). Expect to wait a good 5months. Your timeline isnt full-proof, it just gives u a general idea and will fluctuate greatly! My approval took 7 months, it was painful. your time will come. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Does anyone know why some K1 take so long?	I was in the same boat. I think there is no rhyme or reason to the process. Our NOA2 took a long time as well! (219 days). We never got a single touch and no rfe. We are both 32, haven't traveled much, haven't moved much, we werent in background checks (as far as I know). We dont have any children, no previous marriages or divorces, no military, no adoptions, etc. Our case was very simple and straight forward. I'm US, he's UK (those countries are like best buds). Yet our case took forever to approve. I dont think there is any reason why some cases take ages while others take so long! There seems to be no sense. I know its so frustrating!!!!
