I know exactly what you mean.

When I spent 6 weeks in the US with my fiancee, I was so happy. But as time went on, I found myself getting sadder. People on VJ would tell me to just enjoy the time we had together, and my fiancee told me the same thing, not to think about the day of flying back. Though family reminded me constantly that I *was* going back, showing excitement for having me back in the UK so I could be with them instead. I felt like I was being pulled in both directions yet the one thing I couldn't do is ignore the inevitable time when I would have to leave again.

It got to the point where I was feeling upset in the mornings when I showered because I knew it was one morning closer to being "taken back"... I even considered not visiting again because even though I enjoyed our time together, it was also adding salt to the wound when our time ended.... it's a normal reaction but just think of the time when you won't have to leave. That's what I do, and it helps a bit.



Wow! i know exactly what you mean! my fiance is visiting next month n all i can think about is that its only a week n we have to say goodbye again. i almost rather him not even visit cause when he leaves its too hard! but yes, just knowing it wont be good-bye forever...one day you wont have to leave!
think how much more we will appreciate our mates then other ppl. it will be a wonderful marriage n life together because you will cherish each other more then most ppl could know how to! most ppl take each other for granted, but this pain we go through will give us stronger relationships and when the going gets tough later on in life, u'll have a firm foundation n commitment bcos you learned to cherish each other so much! xx

I'm in the same boat. no touching yet, I look everyday too. Its been 26 days...which is pretty much 1/5 there! glad to have those days out of the way. I'm expecting an early december approval and will then start the wedding process. i only want a tiny wedding. would love to just go to the court, but for my family's sake. plus i'd love for my dad to walk me down the aisle.
its so hard emotionally tho this waiting, it hurts big time sad.gif

once you registered, keep an eye on the part that says "Last Updated". Mine is still at July 29 so i havent been touched sad.gif

First off Congratz to all!

Okay if you go to the Uscis website and look under case status online; there is a sign up area you can sign up ( it will tell you how to and follow it because it is rather picky)
once you are in and have your case number put in from your NOA-1 you can go online there to check your status. You will see a date like 7/28/08 and so on every time you see this change...THIS is considered a TOUCH

Hello! I'm Jenny, another July filer! I have a question, on ppl's time lines it says "touched". what does that mean? does that show up on the status check that your case has been touched? Is it a big deal when your check is cashed?

Thought I'd also throw my name into the mix...our I-129F was sent to CSC April 7th. I keep looking online to see if my check has been cashed yet but nope! mad.gif

It's also annoying that I won't be able to check the snail mail for NOA 1 or 2, since both my fiance and I are in Australia right now. Guess I just have to count on my parents to tell me ASAP if they receive anything!

They ask for 2x2 inch passport pictures here and my fiance's were definitely not 2x2 inches but our xase got appproved! I wouldn't worry about it... I don't think his really met any requirements besides his face being on it with a white background.

Does anyone know if they are really strict with the passport style photo??? My fiance send his over for our original submission of a K-1, and it look too close up......... there are no shoulders in the pic..... he had it done in morocco and was told that it is a standard passport photo..... it just doesn't seem to exactly match the passport photo requirements. It is just a little off( a little larger from chin to top of hair) Should I have hime get another and wait to send in the app, or just send it in with that one? Any help anyone can give would be great!!!!

I've read many times around VJ that it's best not to send more monetary info than necessary, as they can request additional proof of anything you provide. Best to keep it simple.

Ok, he got packet 3 I guess. the letter came from US Embassy in London, the letter didnt say much but it gave him a website. this is what he read:

Wow, I never heard of the beneficiary needing to show they have any sort of funds. Since the B can't work till EAD (which is averaging the full 90 day maximum), that makes it pretty impossible for him to prove he can support himself. Are you sure the letter isn't just reminding for the I-134 and supporting documents? I am wishing you all the best that it's just a misunderstanding!

Andy isn't having any luck, so it's not going well. Trying not to think about it for a few days until he's done with his interview on Tuesday. He found a rideshare to Frankfurt to save some money, and I can tell he's trying not to mention the money thing himself. Saving money for the medical, visa fee, rideshare, and such for the interview on unemployment -- honestly, I don't know how he managed it. Hoping every day he'll have some luck. His aunt called him and told him she might have some work for him soon (he worked briefly for her company when he was still in school). I had to call in sick today for work, which doesn't help either.

I guess it's just hard for me to post at all anymore. I feel disconnected from everything since most people are already getting married and I'm still stuck on money problems. It's old. So many beautiful couples. I really do envy you all.


aww, i'm sorry you guys are so stressed over money! its such a stupid reason that we cant be with our honeys, when for most ppl they can be together if they have no money at all! I'll keep Andy in prayer, i know he has been searching for a long time! It must hurt to see others getting married n you feel stuck! well u arent alone in that part, i'm a long ways off from marriage! even if we get our visa, my SO may want to stay there the full 6 months to make more money. ugh.

I dont know what the letter he got says yet, we didnt get to talk properly today, just via texting. He said it said he needed court documents ?? and proof that he can support himself. I never heard of that either, i thought that was just on me so i didnt worry. I'll find out tomorrow what it says. that gives me hope tho...i pray its a misunderstanding!
You are right, if they cant work for 3 months, how can he prove he can support himself? Most ppl dont have a huge savings account. Thanks Aubrey!

I dont know where his letter came from..i think NVC cause i got almost the same letter today too from NVC telling us our paperwork was received and about to be sent off (dated the 17th, but i called them a couple days ago and the lady said it was sent off the 11th?) and to check a website to see if his country had any information we should be aware of. It didnt say anything else.

I make more then the 125% minimum and have a good savings. Idk...this whole thing is so trying! ugh!

From what I thought I knew about getting an ssn (and God only knows I'm wrong often enough) Dawn should have absolutely no trouble getting an ssn because she hasn't married yet.
What we read was that you could get one as long as your k1 was valid - which expires the minute you marry. So in my understanding Juliette is extremely lucky to have gotten one.

Hey guys! I'm in England with Paul now and my sister texted me this mornng that I got approved! I'm in shock! I got to tell Paul in person. I tried to wake him up and ended up jumping up and down on him to wake him up, i was so excited. She said the letter says approved 2/27/09 but i never got an email and my status says pending and no touch. FINALLY! Praise be to the Lord! I dont know anything else, like why it took so long. i'll have to wait til i get home! Love u all, thanks for your support and well wishes!!!

Thank you! All you guys n your friendship n help has meant so much! I know wen we all signed up here, we all saw the dreaded 6 Month + Waiting thread n all hoped it wouldnt be us. But there had to be a few of us unfortunately. Personally, I'm doing ok, God is taking care of me and I know He will work it all out for the good! He sees the big picture.

Anyways, I'm in southern California, so i could do a vegas weekend. (except i lived there for a year n i haate it there!!) very painful time for me and the memories, but i can manage haha.

Thanks Nick n Shannon and everyone else. I'm sure I speak for all us stragglers, we are very happy for you all approved, getting your interviews n moving over! (now the ppl who filed in nov/dec n getting approved, i cant lie n say i feel joy wen i read Oh my gosh! we got our noa2 after waiting soooo long! its been 3 whole months!! haha.
