PB&JAM, I totally agree with you, I could not sleep one wink the night before and the day of my fiance's interview. My head was constantly racing with thoughts (not to mention pulse and heart rate shooting sky-high) and then when my fiance called with the good news, it was like I finally landed on a pile of hay after catapulting in the air for so long laughing.gif

wow 9:40am! when was your appointment time? what time did you turn up?

sorry for the questions just about to do this on friday and want to know what time I should turn up. The letter says my appointment is at 9:00am!

congratulations!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

My appointment was for 8am but I turned up at the Embassy at 6:50 and there was already a queue!!! But thanks to an early start I got the first immigration visa number, 5000, and was seen by the first immigration officer (British) by 8:15. She was as slow as a snail and I was in serious danger of falling asleep waiting for her to turn pages, tick the boxes, etc. She probably took about 20 minutes but at the time it seemed a lot longer. Once I was done with her and paid my dues smile.gif, I set back in the waiting area and was called back about an hour later. An American immigration officer was very quick and to a point, a lot more polite and that part took 5 - 10 minutes. Maybe I was lucky but it really was a breeze.

If I was you and if you could make it, I'd turn up around 8 the latest. By the time they finally opened security gates at 7:30, the queue was down to the end of the square. But they do seem to deal with it quickly. By the time I left, there was no queue outside at all smile.gif.

Congrats!!! And many blessings for a beautiful wedding!! rose.gif

How long after the US Emb. receives our Pack 3 can we expect a letter from them with an interview date? I'm sure it varies, but what's typical? ta!

We're still waiting for packet 4. I hope to get something in the mail next week. I think DOS are getting tired of us calling! lol
I just hope when we do get a letter that the interview isn't 6 weeks after that! wacko.gif

thanks guys! wow, up to 6 weeks huh? well, i'll be happy just to have an interview date finally! haha

wow..just saw u waited over 9 months for ur noa2! gee, thought i waited a long time! wacko.gif

Yep, I can't wait for our date either, it's been a long wait. We actually hired our lawyer to file for us 7th March 2008 & it took them 2 months to send our petition off so they delayed us even more. I defo won't be using them for the AOS stage, We'll do it ourselves.

ugh! yes i hear a lot of complaints from ppl who use lawyers. man, i rather screw things up myself then pay someone else to! laughing.gif

Stop! You're fine. Really.
No notarizations. None. Nada.
Last tax return as of date I-134 signed. Until April 15, the last tax return is 2007.
One return is enough.
That much money, you'll breeze through. Really.

Now I'm confusing myself!! My fiance has got his 2008 tax return done but the I134 is dated 26th March. Will this cause them confusion? Or will I need to get the 2007 returns too!

I answered my own question. I'll get him to send a postdated I-134 for 16th April so we can use the 2008 returns. I think i'm organised now. star_smile.gif

wow...i am not up to date with the news these days but that sounds horrible. My fiance did not mention anything like this happening there. But that is probably because he is so busy that he does not have time to watch the news. Anyone know about such an incident occurring and what it's like waiting for the interviews?
I do know that Obama is in London right now, but what would that have to do with the protests? They are regarding the Climate Conference... wacko.gif

United KingdomPacket 3 London

Hi all,
My fiance hasn't received packet 3 in the mail yet (our petition just left NVC on Monday 9/24) but we have our new case number from the NVC. Can he fill out DS156 online with just our LND number or does he need wait until we receive packet 3? Thanks!!

My fiance and I are London filers.... Waiting on an interview date... there is no packet three in the mail anymore I hear... my fiancee did not receive one here in UK... there is only a webpage with instructions.... http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html ... this page will tell you all you need to know. You can fill out DS-156 online, but then press the continue button and print out the completed form (do not print the form that you fill out, but rather the form that shows after pushing continue). The completed form will have a generated barcode. That is the one you want to print... don't forget to print duplicates. The form does not actually send to the embassy online as far as I know. It is for you to send in with your DS-230, DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157, DS-2001, and cover letter. These are the only documents you send embassy through the mail

United KingdomDS-156 Form mistake (already sent)

I don't think it will delay you. Tell them when you get there and offer the corrected copy to the interviewer. I bet lots of people have put their NHS number in that blank before.

Nich-NICK..... thanks for all of your responses on my posts.... your insight is comforting to say the least... and priceless due to that...

United KingdomDS-156 Form mistake (already sent)
Hi, I posted this in K-1 forum earlier, but I think this is a better place for my question....

I already sent my DS-230, DS-156, DS-156k, DS-157, DS-2001, and cover letter to the London Embassy... Today I realized that the question on the DS-156 form in regards to the "NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER" was filled incorrectly.... When filling out the form previously we put my Fiancees National Insurance Number instead.... :bonk: .... Thankfully I figured that the polish PESEL number is her "NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER"... I refilled the form and reprinted it in duplicate as is required, but I need to know if I can simply bring the revised DS-156 forms to the interview with me to remedy this??? ... or do I need to send it... My concern is the generated barcode on this form... Will they figure out this mistake when entering this info into their system, and will it potentially delay our interview date, or will they allow my fiancee to give them the revised versions at the interview?

Does anybody that interviewed at US embassy in London have any experience with filling out a form improperly and being called out on it?

Please help... I am stressing out  that one little mistake is going to delay our process even more while waiting for our interview date....

thanks for your help/advice/experiences

I would say that just the simple fact that you have a son being looked after at home (coupled with the info you plan to bring) should seal the deal! I didn't mean to scare you with my first post... I was just surprised to have this happen to me and wanted you to be aware to go prepared!

great!!! .... as for financial proof I just used a receipt with account balance from the ATM that happened to be dated the day before I left ... They never asked me for it officially, but since I had it with all my documents they looked at it.... I think an ATM receipt should be sufficient. I dont know how much they would prefer you to have, but since you will be staying with your fiance, I would imagine there is reasonable expectation that he will be helping you out if need be.

because of the exchange rate, US CURRENCY GOES QUICKLY HERE !!!! HAHA!!! It's depressing :crying:

United KingdomK1 Visa Medical Exam In London HELP!!!
Thanks soooooo much! We havent scheduled the appointment yet because of the money is hard to come by at the moment once he has the money for flight and exam then we will schedule to which ever one they give us... Thanks for your help... We dont have any contacts in london to help us so we r stuck! =(

Which office is his medical at?

The closest airport to central london, where they are both based is Heathrow, but it's not necessarily the cheapest to fly to.

The best way of getting step by step instructions is to decide which airport has the most convenient flights (often Stansted for cost from NI). Once you know, go to www.tfl.gov.uk and do a route plan to whichever tube station (that's londonish for subway/ underground) is closest to his appointed office.

ETA: You don't want or need to take cabs from the airports, it would be daylight robbery price-wise. The public transport system is more than adequate.

I have one for a good laugh.

Before we were married I was visiting Annie's Family in Scotland (the best accent, fife with a tinge of Glaswegian) and I was trying to be cute and was telling them about a minor work contract, it can out as a "I have a small jobby", suddenly everyones eyes were like saucers and they broke out laughing. It took them awhile, but I understood the joke shortly thereafter.
