By the way... for everyone's information I just realized I should post this bit of info I got when I called DOS to see what was taking so long to correct the visa.. DOS said that as far as they were concerned the visa was issued on May 3, 2006. They had NO information that there were any errors on it at all. So I said.. what happens if it takes the Embassy 6 months to fix this problem (I know its a bit exaggerated but I was curious). The guy told me that if the original visa was NOT used by the end of the 6 months it would become invalid. And I said.. even if it was wrong and sent back? He said yes since they would have no way of knowing that it was ever incorrect. Nice huh? So again.. everyone.. PLEASE check and recheck your visa for complete and total accuracy!! Then the courier arrived just after lunchtime! Someone please updated us as being "approved" We've already bought our plane tickets!!! Wahoo!!! Mark came with me, he also came to the window in the embassy with me while i handed my documents in & then again for interview, which realy wasnt an interview at all but just had to hold my hand up & say all was true!! & finger prints AND i got my passport back on saturday morning, so that was fast, cos if it hadnt been here saturday we would of had to wait until wednesday due to monday being a bank holiday!! but i now have it, my K3 visa now has a stamp across it that says, "Cancelled without predudice" Edited by euro, 30 April 2006 - 10:24 AM. Paul Hiya Paul we have our interviews the same day...............I am NOT taking 2005 tax returns..but here are 2 emails i got from London about it.......... An appointment has been scheduled for April 28 at 09:00 a.m. Written confirmation of the date and time of the appointment has been sent to you. Your husband is not required to provide you with his 2005 tax returns. The Immigrant Visa Unit allow a grace period between the end of the tax year and the date petitioners are required to present the latest tax return. Thank you for your e-mail correspondence. Consular Information Unit U.S. Embassy, London CONS/CIU/SF and i emailed again to confirm this and got this reply................... Embassy records indicate that we currently have your Affidavit of Support, form I-864, on file. At the time of your visa interview you are required to furnish your husband's tax returns, 1040 forms, for 2005 or proof of extension. Thank you for your e-mail correspondence. United Kingdom	London Interviews 2006 (NEW)	Thanks everyone!! Can't believe I got any work done today the way I was jumping around all excited! So I suppose now we move on to scheduling the medicals. I'm almost afraid to ask but does anyone know how long its taking them to give out appointments? I tried going back through the thread to see if anyone who got late April interviews (like Euro and Yellow_Stars) mentioned anything about their medicals but either they didn't or I don't see it. Also, I know there was a great post about what we needed for the medical but I can't find that either... Guess my mind is somewhere else imagine that.. As usual, any information would be greatly appreciated... Thanks again... Cari I already had my medical back in November for my K3..so i got a copy of that to take to my CR1 interview!! Oh.. thats easy... Wait I'm confused Amanda... You did a K3 AND a CR1?? Am I missing something? LOL Yes i did both..........sent I-130 at the begining of April last year, waited waited waited then in august got fed up so hubby sent I-129F....it took 112 days from mailing to getting K3 Visa in passport!!...........so i came to Michigan in december, My I-130 was approved in October so decided to follow that rather than waiting bloody ages to AOS!! All my paperwork has been a week behind yours so I should find out next week! I emailed them to ask.....................and the good thing is they have sent the papers to my Michigan address!! Cuz we still waiting on the P3 from the Embassy... I finally got an e-mail response (after 2 weeks) saying: "The Immigrant Visa Unit can confirm receipt of the visa files in the Embassy. Your husband and step-son can expect to hear from the Immigrant Visa Unit in approximately 4 - 6 weeks regarding an appointment date for the formal visa interview." which is a bit confusing to us.. Not sure if this means he's going to get a letter with an interview date along with the P3 or what? No matter what we are soooooo happy for you both.. Hiya No pack 3 just the interview pack with medical info inside too!! your petitions were complete the day before mine at NVC, you should email them on a regular (maybe every other day basis) I emailed them politley asking if they had a date scheduled yet, the replys i got were realy nice, also you can call DOS if London has scheduled you an interview date DOS will know!! Just incase you dont have the number for them here it is.......202-663-1225,as soon as the man answers (recorded voice) hit 1-1-0 it takes you straight to an operator, dont take any notice of what the standard reply emails, here is a copy of the email i got from them...... I had already decided to just copy my tax returns (AGAIN) and send them to Crash just to be safe.. but I am confused about what Euro said.. originals of ALL documents? Didn't I send all the originals to NVC? What originals should he bring besides the forms they want him to fill out that they send him in the Packet 3?? Hiya the originals i am talking about are......divorce papers, tax returns,birthcertificates,marriage certificate etc.......you should of only ever sent copies of the originals to the service center & NVC, they will want to see ALL originals at the interview!!......best to take copies + originals just to be safe incase they lost anything!!! better to be safe than pending Good Luck on a speeding interview date!!!..I see we are only a day apart with our complete dates!!! After getting phone confirmation from NVC I finally received two letters confirming my husband and stepson's cases were forwarded to the Embassy in London. Now come the questions: 1. Does anyone have an estimate as to how long it will take for the Embassy to send my hubby and son the Packet 3? 2. Can my hubby schedule their medicals or does he have to wait for the Packet 3 to arrive? Something about a form they have to bring with them?? 3. Does anyone have updated information about the medicals, specifically where they can go get them? They are living in Devon. I'm sure I have more questions but will leave it at that for now. As always... thanks to you all for your wonderful insight and information during all of this... Cari 1) You can see on our signature it took about 9 days for James to get Packet 3 from London 2) I think he needs to wait for Packet 3, it has the medical checklist and stuff in it 3) All medicals take place at Knightsbridge in London now as far as I know. Packet 3 has the info on how to call and book with them. Good luck! dos told me on the phone today that London will only send 1 pack, & thats the 1 that contains interview for CR1!! United Kingdom	London Interviews 2006 (NEW)	Oh two more questions: On the letters I got advising that their cases were forwarded to the Embassy it said "All beneficiaries that have a sponser filing the form I-864 Affidavit of Support on their behalf are advised to bring the most current three years of tax documents and supporting financial proof that is current at the date of the visa interview". This confuses me - I sent in, as requested, with the Affidavit of Support to NVC copies of my last 3 income tax returns. Does my hubby have to bring another set of copies with him to his interview?? Also, we were under the impression that I didn't have to be with him for the interview. Are we wrong? Am I required to be there? Thanks again... Cari Your husband will have to take all the Originals of ALL documents, & I think they will want to see your 2005 tax returns now, which might mean it is a good idea for you to fill out a new I-864 just incase , edited to say.....................NO you dont have to be at he interview!! Samantha Don't send any pics back with the packet 3, they need to be brought on your interview date. There are also two documents that you aren't supposed to sign until you are at the embassy. Please see below link for more info. Miranda, you need to send back all of the paperwork in order for them to schedule your interview. This includes the DS230, DS 156, DS 156K and DS 157 AND the checklist. Even if you don't have the police report back or you don't have the I-134 affadavit ready, just check off everything as if you do, since you WILL have it all by the time the interview arrives. Otherwise there will be a huge delay in getting your date. Sending back the checklist alone does nothing, they need ALL of the other Packet 3 forms in order to enter the new case file information into their system. And consequently if they have all those papers and no checklist, they still won't schedule you since they assume you aren't ready. You need to send it ALL. Here is the London Embassy site which can give you more info on this all. http://www.usembassy...processing.html Then once packet 3 and checklist are in (you need to send this recorded delivery with signature request) you can wait about 2 weeks before you very nicely start emailing the embassy to see if they have all your forms and if they can give you a date. Hi Estalla Gladdy here, I have sent all my forms back and had my medical and that was all done by the end of January, I asked my lawyer to check the status of my case but as far as that goes I have received nothing back from him either. Im new to this so what kinda time should I allow before e-mailing the Embassy in London and what kinda wording is commonly used in such an e-mail just so I dont sound impolite or ungrateful to their efforts on my behalf so far...? put your case number in the subject line & write a nice polite email say your have had medical sent all papers back & your ready for interview, could they tell you if a interview date has already been arranged for you!!...........................just write whatever you want!! Does London set up the interview and medical or does NVC. I have been getting different information on the CR1 boards and just found you guys LOL. You have to get through immigration before you can pick up your luggage in an entirely different location. There is NO primary or secondary luggage inspection on arrival -- only on departure. i've watched the fly on the wall documentary about heathrow, and when they take people to secondary, they always seem to have thier luggage with them & it gets searched ! Well yes, that's because they do it BEFORE the bags are checked in, not after. It doesn't make any sense to search your luggage afterwards. It is for a teaching fellow position at the University of Virginia!! Just hope I get the green card now. It would be kind of ironic if I don't! Kiki WOW! That's super news! I'm really really tickled for you Kiki! I don't think you need to worry about getting the card. But it stinks waiting doesn't it? Thank you Rebecca! I am quite amazed actually. I feel very lucky - at one stage I felt in a "hole" and couldn't see an end to this all. The college is great and so are the staff in the science department. I am very excited - I'll be starting work next week! I am also terrifed! I hope that you and Wes do hear something very soon. The waiting in limbo is dreadful. I can't believe I have been here 8 months already! My AOS was held up by my fingerprints which were "illegible". I got an RFE for that and had to obtain a local police certificate. I am kind of nervous as I was unsure what to send back exactly. I know they have received it, so the waiting begins again... Keep us posted - let's hope you hear something positive back real soon!
