US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLondon Interview Date - YES!!!!

These CR1 interviews appear few and far between these days.

In response to email request that I sent to the embassy (Thank you Thank you Thank you Amanda!) I have had a letter to say my interview is scheduled for late June. Hubby will be here in London so we are going to make it a "together" event, followed by a walk in St James Park. :) Medical booked for next week. Busy trying to obtain vacc record from general practitioners right now.

When I saw the envelope marked US embassy I promptly burst into tears! Thought it an excellent reason to wake hubby up (1am Cali time) so we could both dance round with joy albeit with a huge ocean in between.

Good Luck and best wishes everyone,

daisy

Daisy that is great news, soooooo happy for ya:P

Thank you very much for the answer.
I haven't book my flight yet because i dont know when. I have my interview at 10amso it is in the morning. But is also on Thursday ... and if they don't send my passport back by Friday I doubt I can have it till Monday ... which will be a bit late for me. So there is it possible to pay a before 8am delivery? That would be so great for me. Thanks for you answer anyway.

You can pay extra for before 8am delivery, before 10am delivery & also for a saturday delivery

I got a staturday delivery without paying extra.......maybe it was because they promised I'd have it by Friday and they didn't get it done.

I also got a saturday delivery no extra charge............its just the luck of the draw, how ever i did pay for a "before 10am" delivery, so they did good, my interview was friday, passport arrived 9:30am saturday morning  .............................BUT i have known some people wait 4+days so i would'nt go booking any flights for the day after or even 2 days after, better to be safe than mis ya flight :P

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLetter of Readiness...

Too slow to edit my own post, but see if the guide from this site about CR1s helps:

Link to guide

But from that guide, it says "A few weeks after you have received your last Notice of Action indicating the approval and forwarding of your I-130 application to the NVC, the NVC will send your relative a packet of forms that you and your relative must fill out before your relative can be given an interview date with a consulate abroad."

yes thats all the paper work from NVC!!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPay Slip, does it come with Pk4?

Just wondered if anyone knew if the pay slip for the K-1 Visa interview (London) comes with packet 4? Or do I have to request it?

Also how is the medical payed? Do I just write a check and they ask for it at the appointment?

:help:

Yes the Visa payment slip will be in pack 4, the medical has to be payed for by Card, not cheque or cash, unless thats changed now!!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLondon embassy and bags

Hey all.

I'm going to the London embassy in a few days for my interview. The letter mentions that they have a policy on not admitting some bags. How strictly is this enforced? e.g, could I bring in a small backpack or a briefcase?

Thanks.

BIG HUGS and prayers and thoughts are going your way. This must seem awful right now, especially as it impacts your visa/marriage plans, but I hope this means they caught a very nasty disease early and will have you healthy in no time.

I also hope your fiance will be able to come and be with you through this - support and a positive attitude can make all the difference.

Good luck. (L) (L) (L)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLondon Does Not Have Case Yet???

Hi....

I e-mailed London last week regarding hubby's case. I explained that we are ready to proceed and asked for an interview date...
Today, London gets back to me and tells me that there is no record of hubby's case ! They mention however, that it takes 3-4 weeks to process it....

It was sent out of NVC on May 31...and looks like London rec'd it on June 3 from DHL tracking.

Should I be concerned, or is this standard operating procedure?

Thanks...
Rose

Yes its standard for them to say they didnt get it yet, until they start to process it, once they say they have it an interview will follow prtty fast, keep emailing them, & good luck

martindart,

In a tropical country like Vietnam, one should also change clothes daily (if not twice daily) so that they don't stink. (I'm surprised that your fiancee didn't call off the engagement by the end of the 2nd day.)

Yodrak

...

I was in VN for 20 days. I wore a suit and tie during our ceremony and all the others day I wore my carhart clothes. All, if not most of our photos taken together in VN visiting all the sites/landmarks days and or nights together I was wearing my carharts... Word to the wise: CHANGE CLOTHES DAILY WHEN BEING PHOTOGRAPH of you and your fiancee taken together that you plan on presenting at the time of interview.

Stay happy and Healthy  when waiting..

Does it HAVE TO BE completed electronically? My printer isnt working and rather than harrass someone else is it ok for me to hand write the one they sent me??

Yes :yes:it's ok to hand write the 1 they sent you!

EDited to say ..I found this, Googled it!!

expires 09/30/2007

so again that is the same form that is from 02-2003 and earlier than the one they sent me 03-2006 next to which it says previous editions obsolete. Now this is proving to be especially annoying in my case as I messed up the form they sent me by siging it (the form itself does not say not to sign but the accompanying instructions do - note to self read all instructions carefully). Now I really do not know what to do!!?? I guess i will send the electrotic version and keep my fingers crossed.

I am going crazy here having spent all day filling out the package 3 forms, setting up appiontments, etc...
Now I am half way through completing the DS-156 on line (the info recieved from the embassy does not say to fill it out on line but the US state website https://evisaforms.state.gov says you should). Anyways I messed up the paper form by signing (the form itself does not say not to sign just the info that comes with it). HOWEVER the online form is an older version (02-2003) than the form the sent me in the mail (03-2006). Anyone know what I should do?????

When I sent back packet three I sent back the checklist with it, and this had information about the documents required on it, and now I want to see it again! I sent back the packet having ticked everything when in reality I am still gathering. Does anyone have a copy of the 4 pages they want sent back with the checklist? I know I should have photocopied it.. I still haven't learnt!

I am getting paranoid that I've forgotten something again, and would like reassurance from the bit of paper that I am doing it right...

NO you dont "need" the barcode, The electronic version of that form puts a barcode on before you print it out, but you can just fill out the one they sent you, i think the barcode just makes it easier for the staff at the embassy, rather than having to tpye the info into the system, they just scan the barcode!!

Well I completed the DS156 Electronic for my fiancee but I may have made a boo boo.

On the question asking if you will work in the US yes or no (give name and address of employer) ... I put no.

My thought was that she has no job lined up at this time and therefore we could not give an employer name. Yet she will work once she gets all the paperwork in line.

I told her if they ask at Consulate about this to tell them just that. Once in the US I will work but I do not have a job ready at this time.

Think that will cause a problem for her??

Thanks!
