That's great. I put my US address on I-864.waiting for my DS-230 atm.

Not much notice though, don't you think? If they hadn't emailed you before you'd have to get ready for that interview rather quickly. 4 weeks...wow!!

Yes good point, so its a good idea to keep emailing your Consulate/Embassy to find out in advance, rather than just wait for the letter

We just got an RFE for missing W2's :(

But I am pretty the I-864 forms said that you only need to include them if you have carried out joint tax returns in the past or something like that?

Anyway, we have sent them now.

Euro has your case got to London yet?

Louise

Yes my case is in London, infact i just got an email from them telling me they had it and to email them back at the end of this week begining of next week & they should have a date for me!!

Excellent Amanda, let us know how you get on as soon as you have chance! GOOD LUCK - it will be fine

louandmikek,

The I-864 instruction says, among other things, "A copy of your complete Federal income tax return, as
filed with the Internal Revenue Service ..."

Also, go back to the place where you read about including W2s with joint tax returns and you won't find the word 'only' there.

Going on the basis of "something like that" is an invitation to a problem - the devil is often in the details.

Yodrak

pbgirl,

The 3rd question is a good one.

Yodrak

....

Has anyone ever been denied the CR-1? And if that did happen, what would you do? Can you come back to the US on the K3?

You're right. But to be fair, they don't make the instructions very clear do they? Oh well, I made it clear that I didn't know what I was on about. Lol.

Just to let you know i have got my CR1 interview its April 28th in London, & for informations sake............on the DS-230 i put my us address also did on the I-864 and London have mailed my interview pack to my US address!!
I know we all wondered about this, so hope you all find this information helpful!!

Thanks for the info, that was a burning question of mine

:star:

Amanda, another thing, please let us know the logistics of it all. Do you get your green card on the day of the interview or do they send it to an address in the UK where you are staying? Because you will need to come back on it, right?

How long did you book your UK visit for? My case has just been transferred to London and I was thinking I would arrive in London 2 days before the interview then travel up to Liverpool to stay for about 10 days. 2 weeks should do it.

Good luck once again!

I haven't been on the forum for weeks, hence all the comments!

The Green card will arrive in the poat at your NY address, BUT they will keep your passport & return that the same way they did with your K3!!
I have booked our flights, were going to Yorkshire then to London satying the night then back to London to wait the return of my passport, we fly back on friday the 5th may.............I hope it wont take ages to get my passport back as interview is friday, and the following monday is mayday!!!

Euro, I saw in your signature that you are also applying for AOS. ANy particular reason for this or just for EAD and SSN reasons

I'm not doing AOS, I only applied for EAD so i could get my SSN as i have no idea how much longer my I-130 is going to be at NVC, we have just sent the last paper to them DS-230,so i might of wasted the EAD cash but oh well!!..........I didnt send NVC a change of address i just put this down as my address on the I-684 & the DS-230!!
Good Luck

as for the DS-3032 my husband just sent the one i had left at his house & he wrote our case number on the top right hand corner, this was accepted no problems!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhen do you get your "green card"?

Here's my situation. On my wife's DS-230 we selected the option to be issued a SS card. Well, we went to the states back in February. It's now 2 months later and she has received absolutely nothing yet. She was chatting with her friend who entered the US 3 1/2 weeks ago and has already gotten her green card in the mail. Who can I contact about not receiveing the green card or SS# yet?

SSN you could go to your local office to find out!!.......as for GC not arriving yet i dont know who you would contact about that, but i'm sure someone will be along here soon that does know, Good Luck

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPacket 3 and 4

Hello All

Is there anyone out there that can tell me what does Packet 4 consists of? Also how long after sending in Packet 3 do you receive Packet 4?

Pack 4 is your interview letter, the time varies, but after sending back pack 3 you should email the embassy regular to find out if they have scheduled an interview for you yet!!
It takes them a couple of weeks before they even open your pack 3 to process it, so they may tell you they didnt recieve it yet, dont worry if they tell you that as this just means they didnt open it yet!!

Thanks for your post! I see from your signature that you sent yours in before the change of policy! :)

I really hope this doesn't slow down my process! I'm not impressed at all that I've gotten two contradictory answers from the NVC at this point and there's no one to answer the phone there right now!

But on the bright side, NVC are pretty fast when it comes to RFE, as i got 1 & it didnt slow me down at all!!

Hi HumanUnit.

They did change it that you only need to file one. However, you may want to check the Embassy where your interivew will take place. My husband is going to Turkey, and they still request three.

Here is the link to the DOS that shows what is currently requested:

http://travel.state....grams_2863.html

Thank you, I did see that link. However, what happens now if Montreal does indeed require three? Do I just take that to the interview, or have I totally screwed up my form by not sending all three in?? This is just too frustrating considering that I'm so pressed for time. :crying:

we also sent 3...dont worry they will contact you if 3 are needed!!

I thought i had to get a medical before the interview could be scheduled. I was also under the impression i do that myself. Am i wrong? thanks again.

You do have the medical before the interview, then the medical results now get sent straight to the Embassy, thats all i can tell you about it now, other than the doctors is in knightsbridge!!.....the medical place has changed since i had mine!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCase complete question of confusion

Hi

We got case complete and i just got a letter from NVC which i assume is our last from them as the case is going to London now.

They sent a letter with a phone number a priority date and a website.

The priority date appears to be when we applied and the website and automated number appear to be jibberish.

http://travel.state....letin_1343.html

What does htis all mean?

help thanks.

p.s. i am in the U.S. right now but i assume future stuff will go to my UK address right?

thanks in advance

The only other mail you will get now will be your interview letter(pack 4)& it will be sent to your address in the UK!, nothing now will go toBellas address!!
dont take any notice of the letter from NVC !!, give London a week or 2 then start to email them to ask if they have asheduled an interview for you , good luck!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is the A number?

Hopefully this will bump up to the top so i don't have to create a new thread...

I have what I believe is our alien number for my wife, but here's the rub: it's on our K3 NOA2. In the beneficiary box, above her name is sequence like this: A000 000 000 where the 0s are numbers. Now, I, as many people, it appears, received NOA2 for both the CR-1 and the K3 at about the same time. As I proceed through the CR-1 track, can I still use the alien number from the K3 (we didn't get an A# on the CR-1 NOA2)? Is this number "universal", in the sense that there should only be one per alien (this makes sense to me, but I want to make sure). In particular, should I put the A# from my K3 petition on the I-864 that I fill out for the CR-1 visa? I just want to be careful that there isn't a new A# assigned to my wife in the CR-1 process and things get messed up if I cross the streams. Thanks! ttyl,

mich

When you enter the US on a K3 the POE officer will write your "A" number on the back of your I-94, also in your passport!...................well this is what happened with mine anyway!

when you enter the US with a CR1 visa then you will be given an "A" registration number!!............
I got a different 1 with each visa

Hello All

:help: My wife sent her Packet 3 to the Embassy which was signed for on May 5th But when she calls to check on it they say it's not on the system as of yet. Does anyone know how long it usually takes from the time the packet it received until it is put in the system??

She should stop calling as thats a call center in Scotland @1:30p a minute, she should email she will get a better reply.....they will say "No record" of recieving it yet until they put it in to the computer, but normaly they will have some news around 3 weeks after sending!!

okay.. but what are the restrictions on leaving the US once you enter (i.e for holidays.. etc..)

How long before you can apply for Citizenship ?

No restrictions at all cept having to lift conditions 90 days before your green card is 2 years old!!!....mark it on ya calender,
I am not 100% sure about citizenship but i think if you are married to your spouse for 3 years, after that you can apply
but if i'm wrong someone will be along soon to let us both know

EDITED to say....you can leave for holidays etc, but not for years or you will lose your residence status!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFinally After 475 We Have Good News!

Hello eveyone,

I am excited to finally have some closure on our long journey. My husband and I married in 2004 and filed for our CR1. We encountered several bumps in the road and were finally given and interview date December 12, 2005. He was put on AP and we were in the black abyss until last week when he got a letter to return in person to the embassy with his passport. Today he was told congratulations and they took his passport and he paid the courrier fee. We expect to have our visa in 3 -5 days. I want to thank everyone for their support and encouragement in this long process and may all of you be blessed with your loved ones soon, amen.

Mary

AP lasted 4 months 26 days so to all there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Mary that is great news & news i'm sure many on VJ including myself have been waiting to hear from you!!
I wish you & your husband all the happiness in the world

I got a response to email letting us know they will respond with an interview date in approx six weeks time. I am guessing they give notice so the int date may be emmm four weeks after that??? Makes me think London is slowing up, they have our file since April.

Hubby is here in June for two weeks.

Im just tired!!! LOL You been there seen it done it. I think it was when our first anniversary came around last month the realisation set in that we've had it with all the waiting!!! We are too old for all of this!! :)

So sad when I see others in various parts of the world waiting much longer too!

Thanks Amanda.

with best wishes, daisy

If your husband is going to be in the UK in june, why dont you email them explaining this & that he would like to come with you to the interview, & would it be possible for you to have an interview scheduled for (insert dates)??............you may be surprised as London will try to accomodate you, thier pretty good this way!!

Now do you have to send that $380 before your interview with packet 3? I'm based in London, and it mentions that I need the $280 for the interview. Is that true?

With the CR1/IR1 in London there are NO fee's to pay to the Embassy!!............all fee's are payed at NVC, all you have to pay in the UK is for your medical!!
