IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	oh my, am I confused	Thank you, we haven't gotten the letter from the NVC yet (about how long did you have to wait before you recieved this? we only know the case is completed by using the NVC's automated message thing) but we will try calling that number soon! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	oh my, am I confused	I am getting slightly lost...not due to lack of information, but from too much information. My husband's been looking at the London embassy's site, Department of State and visajourney.com timelines and has in the process got himself (and me) throughly confused. What we basically want to know is, based on or situation, what happens now and about how long should it take until the medical and interview? We have sent the NVC the affidavit of support packet of forms and the ds-230 packet and have recieved a case complete notification from them. What happens now, keeping in mind that we are doing this through the London embassy? Does 'case complete' mean that all of the information included in the i864 and ds230 was satisfactory or will these forms now need to be looked at and approved by the embassy? (I ask this because it seems like the NVC processed the I864 remarkably quickly, it was recieved by them on the 17th of Feb and by the 21st we'd gotten 'case complete'...and on some websites we've looked at (department of state possibly) it has said that the embassy can take 12 weeks to approve the forms and another 4-6 to assign a visa interview date). Does the NVC assign the interview date or will this be done by the embassy? I'm sorry there are so many questions, we thought we had it all figured out and then made the mistake of searching around . I am in the same position as you, i'm waiting for an interview too, but already have my medical results from my K3 interview, which i can use!!......Have you got the letter from NVC saying they have sent your petition to London yet??.........if so then email London and ask if they have recieved it yet, you can also call DOS they will know your interview date as soon as London has arranged it, they give good info, the number is.........202 663 1225. immediately press 1, 1, 0 EDITED to say.......The Embassy will arrange the interview date for you!! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	This maybe a stupid question	When you file you DS-3032 and you have choosen to make the Agent (me) someone stateside. Once the package leaves the NVC and gets forwarded to the Embassy in the specific country. Who does the Package 3 & 4 come to? And who is the one send those packages? Is it the Embassy or the NVC? Last one is...I know what package 4 is but what is Package 3? I must add that my spelling in this topic is horrible NO question is a stupid one if you dont know the answer The mail from the Embassy will be sent to the person in that country, the one who will be having the interview!, if you are UK London Embassy then the Embassy will be the one that sends the packs, for CR1/IR1 i dont think there is a pack 3 only pack 4 which is interview date & medical info!! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	To March Interviewees	It says in the interview packet to provide the most recent tax return. Does this mean the 2004 return?? I have not filed mine. And if I completed my I-864 on September 2005, I don't need a new one right? Because I-864 expres in 1 year Thanks & goodluck to everybody. Does anyone know the path to speak with an operator directly? My understanding is that the UK police certificates are valid for one year. Does anybody know whether the UK certificate just needs to be valid for the interview or must it be valid at the time you enter the US..? Thanks!! I know I said that my fiance and I have chosen to go down the CR-1 route, but now because of the time frame of being apart, we may be looking at the K-3. My question is this though, because I am here in the UK, I am not able to legally change my name on my passport and social security card until I get back to the states, what about the paperwork for Ian's application? What name do I use, my old name or my new married name? I have already started filling them out, and got to thinking that nothing will match my married name except for the marriage certificate. Can I get away with using my married name even though I can't legally change it until I get back to the states? Any advice will be helpful. BTW...we are getting married on the 29th of April. I have never been so excited about getting married...even with my first marriage, it was more like going to my death lol. Cheers for all the help... I have all the police certs, birth certs, first marriage certs and divorce certs for each of us. Because we have seperate case numbers, do we have to have TWO marriage certs for our marriage? (1 for each case number) I should imagine that this is the case but I have only just thought about it I know we have a way to go yet but I do like to be "early " with things Hiya Val Treat each case as seperate, therefore seperate documents for each, but what i would do is as you will interview together i would take 1 original & 2 copies, 1 copy for each case!! Is it better to have my husband (USC) as the agent to receive the documents or is it faster to have myself as the agent and have them mailed directly to me? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	IR-1 worries	hi had my i-130 approved long ago while i was in US with K3. almost had my I-485 finished but i mistakenly left the US without advance parole and now i have to start all over again. i send I-824 2 weeks ago and havent heard anything. getting worried about the whole thing or if i will ever b able to go home again. (i have a house, job, wife n kid in US) i read that because of i130 approval, i cant get K3 again and have to do IR1. is this true? do i have to wait for a case number to be assigned or do i already have one with my A number? how long before i hear from NVC about the IR1 process? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Going to visit my wife	Hi everyone, My i130 was approved and we got a case number at NVC about a week ago. They said in their letter that the paperwork will be sent to me and my wife in a bout 6-8 weeks. I am going to visit my wife in China next week and wanted to know if there is anything I can do while ther (Fill out forms for her-her english is so so) and speed up the process. Anyone knows what forms I should take? any suggestions would be appriciated Yes you could get her to fill out the DS-3032 agent form, also you could get her to do the DS-230 part 1, with a copy of the Bio page of her passport!!, the DS-3032 will be sent to her BUT if you already have a copy (as its sent to you too) you can write the case number in the top right corner of the form she has completed & mail it, this is what my husband did with the form i had already got ready!!............The DS-230 requires a barcode sheet for return but if you already have your wife fill out this form then as soon as you recieve the NVC copy you can add the barcoded sheet they have sent you, Thes are the only 2 forms your wife will have to fill out at NVC stage! If you do get married in the UK your other half USC will have to apply for a visa to beable to go to the UK to get married!! as for you coming to the US then sending your I-130 petition, you would only beable to stay for the 90days the VWP allows!! so do be prepared to return to the UK & wait for the visa to be processed!! and ALWAYS tell the truth at POE as if not this WILL come back & bite you on the ####### I came to the US for a weeks holiday & got married, THEN i returned to the UK to wait out the visa process, i am currently here on a K3, this took 112 days from mailing to getting the actual visa in my passport, i am returning to the UK for my CR1 interview which is 28th April!! Good Luck on what ever you decide, just becareful not to do anything considered illegal!!!!!! EDITED to say....i did visit the US while the visa was processing, you just have to be sure you take lotsa evidence to prove ties to the UK!! oh, you need a visa now just marry on a visit! thats crazy but thanks for letting me know. yep, I know i would have to wait out the full time back in the UK, but if we could have knocked off the first 90 days after getting married, this would be fantastic I would never do anything illegal to mess this up, and I only give the minimal responses at the POE and havent had any problems in 7 years of visits to the US yes its a new law, the USC has to have a vis to get married in the uk, maybe you can find the details some where!!, maybe you could go for a holiday get married while visiting as i did & stay for your 90days & file while your there??, but beaware that if you file the K3 if it gets fast approval you might end up returning sooner than your 90days so you have enough time to arrange medicals etc, also you will need a police certificate this can take 40 days to get, so maybe you can apply for it now, as its good for a year!! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	I-130 approved before 1-129F	K3-once approved spenda a very short time at NVC just long enough to get a case number, then onto the Embassy/Consulate,where your husband would get the pack 3 pack 4 from, plus he would have to have a medical,( also he needs a medical for I-130), once in the US your husband would have to apply for EAD &AOS which can take a while before he gets a greencard!! I-130 CR1-married less than 2 years=2 year greencard,you would have to have to lift conditions 90days before the 2nd anniverasary of the date on the card!!, IR1 married more than 2 years =10 year greencard! The CR1/IR1 visa once approved goes to NVC where it will be processed i.e aos bill IV bill etc, this can take anything from 2 months to 5 months this all depends on you, and the efficency of the paperwork!,your husband would have an interview at the Embassy/Consulate, but upon entry in the US this triggers the Greencard in the mail, which takes anything from a couple of weeks to get in the mail!! so its up to you which you choose, Good Luck Edited by euro, 14 April 2006 - 01:30 PM. My question is this: When you submitted your tax forms, did you staple the W2 to the transcript? I know stupid question, but I don't want anything to get lost I am so excited about even mailing it! Louise, Angel is right, I emailed to find out when my interview was, i also asked which address they sent the interview letter to, & they had sent it here to me in Michigan, which i have since got!!................so my advice is keep emailing until you get a date, & take a look at my timeline for an idea as to how long you will have to wait!!!
