I keep reading about some premium rate number people call, I assume this is not the one. Is this an automated number like the NVC?

No this is Department of State, if you press the 1-1-0#s you get straight through to a real person, its not a premium rate number, the phone number for the London Embassy is though, & is also in Scotland!!, so they are not helpfu, so dont even call that num ber!! 1:30a minute :huh:

Another way to find out when an interview date has been scheduled is by calling DOS 202-663-1225,then when answered press 1-1-0 straight away!!, but again give it a couple of weeks before calling!!

how long from Approval to interview?

I would say as your country is germany you are looking at 5 months more after approval at USCIS, it does all depend on how fast the forms can go through NVC :thumbs:

Angel will be along soon, she is going through Germany so she can give you a better idea :yes:

It has been 3 months already.. am I really going to have to wait another 3 months ?????????????

A quick question

hey,

just wondering about taxes for 2005. It said in packet 3 we were to have the up to date taxes, however, our co-sponsor is unlikely to have this done, as they are self employed and as such get extensions from the IRS.

Is it possible to substitute their taxes by using the extension letter at the interview?

Yes Andrew it is, My husband also got an extension & i was told to take the letter with me so i did, but the didnt even ask to see it :thumbs:

when she arrives at POE they will process her papers, & her Greencard & SSN will arrive soon after in the mail, then nothing todo until 90days before the 2nd anniversary of the date on her greencard you & she will have to apply to have conditions lifted, so enjoy this time with out having to do immigration stuff

So do you know when she can start to work? She is bugging me to find out...I guess she likes to work, which I have no problem with

well realy as soon as her green card arrives, mine was a couple of weeks, but i am still waiting for my SSN, i will have to go chase that up, but she can work right away , she may have to chase up her SSN though!!
I have it on good information that I can work with out SSN as i have greencard, well not without but could work & give SSN as soon as it arrives, the only snag with that is most application forms ask for SSN!! :yes:

WITH A SIGNATURE HERE AND A DOOR CLOSING THERE....WE GOT A LONG WAITED VISA. RIGHT NOW SHE IS AT THE CFO OFFICE GETTING HER STICKER. AND SHE WILL BE ON THE FLIGHT TO ORLANDO LEAVING TONIGHT!!!!

The receptionist told me that i don`t have anything though. I was told in another thread i made about titres and so i want to get that done. I dunno what i am doing yet. I want as few chemicals in me as possible but until i find out what shots i can`t avoid i can`t get them and therefore can`t get the record of them.

It would be easier if the interview and medical were the same day and same place and if i could just get what i needed there. Of course easy is boring. ha

well you can get the injections at the medical, but its going to cost you!!!!!............& yeah its sucks that you now have to make 2 trips to London :unsure:

and psst dont listen to the Doctors receptionist, what does she know :whistle:

Firstly thank you to YamSam for advising we call the Dept of State. Our interview is set for July 10th at 9.30 a.m.

I am now so happy i am bouncing off the walls.

I am also worried that i have not done this or that and hope i have it all together soon.

Getting my long birth certificate online i think.

My dad said he is coming with me but i think he will be bored if he can`t even wait with me.

Well hopefully this is a love story that can really get going now the overlong first chapter is near an end.

Good luck to all the people still waiting all along the process. Don`t lose heart. I know i did many times. I recently decided our case had been lost or destoryed on purpose or any number of other crazy thoughts. Apparently my interview is the day after the World Cup final so that is my new goal as it were.

Just posting this to let people know and thank people who have helped and of course to give hope to those who are getting down.

if you dont try you will never know, I was once asked how my marriage worked with hubby being in the US & me in the UK, i said we were going through the immigration process & the POE officer asked did i have any papers with me for this, i did i had NOA1 he looked at it and everything was fine :thumbs:

I wasnt asked anything about job etc, just as well as i didnt have 1 at that time either!!........but when asked buisness or pleasure i said holiday!, family or friends, i said family, he said oh, who, i said my husband, thats when he asked how it worked :lol:

, he was realy nice!!...........i even asked him if he wanted to see my return ticket, he said .NO your good to go :thumbs:

She Has Arrived

I just want everyone to know that my wife arrived safely this past Thursday night/Friday morning. It has been a fun filed weekend. It is different having my wife around, even the pets are adjusting to it. but it feels so good after such a long wait.

She came in on a CR-1 visa and I checked the box for them to do her SSN. So is there anything else that I need to do?

awww, so happy for you both, I also checked the box for SSN , but it looks like i will have to go to the office to get it as it didnt arrive yet, & I did my CR1 at POE on the 5th may :unsure:

but nothing to do now untill 2 years (minus) 90days from the date on her GC, then you will both have to apply for conditions lifting :thumbs:

So if your spouse is in Taiwan and she assigns you as her agent the embassy in Taiwan gets the Packet 4 and mails it all the way back to the US, which takes 2-3 weeks, then you have to sign it and return it to Taiwan? I suppose this a good case for hving a foreign spouse declare herself the agent. Are there other packets though which go out from NVC to the agent which would take longer to go to Taiwan than to the USC?

Once the I-130 is approved, you (Beneficiary)are then sent out a form asking if you want to nominate someone as a representative are you not ?

Would it make sense to Nominate someone in the US, so that the paperwork can go back and forth faster ?,. rather than it having to be sent to the UK each time...

I nominated my husband USC!!, I also sent him the 2 forms so he would have them to send straight away as soon as he got them, e.e DS-3032 agent form, & DS-230 part 1 :thumbs:

O.K. i will thanks. I am just really stressed out and pissed off. It is getting close and i am worried i won`t have my letter or my medical by the 10th and i just spent a few quid to call a woman in Soctland who knows nothing. She was very helpful but she couldn`t help. :-s

I have an appointment with the community nurse on Monday so i have the day off. I don`t suppose anybody can guide me to the vaccinations i need? I can`t find them anywhere. I know somebody posted them aswell.
