IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureswhat they really mean by I130 Processing time?
Hi guys,

This waiting time is killing...Normally on other days, 6 months will go so fast, but during this process, it seems like we have to wait for 6 months (here it looking like a long duration) uuhhh...Lets hope they process our papers soon so that we can join our loved ones sooner...

Print it out, study it at yer leisure, in a comfy chair, away from a computer, kids, distractions.

Lots of info there, can be your new bible for a month or two.

Good Luck !

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureswhat they really mean by I130 Processing time?

USCIS does NOT issue visas... they only approve petitions... once the approved case file leaves the USCIS they are no longer involved and cannot report on processing times.... So what the USCIS reports are times under there control and for there part of the process

For a CR/IR visa the length of time it takes to get an appointment after the approved file gets sent to NVC depends o lot on the speed of your responses to the data & fee payment requests....

Thanks for your prompt reply.. Can I start gathering documents which is essential for the porcess or should I need to wait until my NOA2 is issued. Is they follow specified formats on which the datas should be submitted to them.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureswhat they really mean by I130 Processing time?
Hi Guys,

I have a doubt. what USCIS really mean by I130 Processing time?

Whether its the total time taken for them to grant us the Visa or Its the total time for them to issue the Notice of Approval (NOA2). If latter is the case, then how long on a average it will take to get our Visa Appointment.

Your replies would be much appreciated..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresThe number of spouse's passport style photos needed

Hello,

I know I need two for the i130; how many will I need for the NVC stage/interview stage? Trying to find out the total, I am really trying to have everything I need here from her for the entire process so I don't have to wait for her to send me more stuff.

Also, is there a list somewhere of what forms need multiple (signed) original documents filed?

Thanks,

Jon

Two is Minimum, but to be in safer side, most of the VJers will send 4 to them

All the best..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresTax Filing as Single or Married
Hi Soza,

My wife filed her tax mentioning that she got married and I signed the papers too. We sent that to NVC...Since I dont have an SSN, her accountant asked to file a W7 along with the Fed.Tax Return to get a tax ID number which IRS will consider in place of SSN for these cases...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow much is your phone bill?

My husband's bills have been amounting to nearly $500 for the last couple of months.
We also stay in contact throughout the entire day via AIM, Skype, Facebook and text messages.
We've been trying to cut down on his phone bills. Managed to get it to $300 this month.
I've been urging him to get a Mother India account which is $10 for 500 minutes. Or Skype which is unlimited for $8 monthly.

Anyone know if there are special rates or such for Verizon?

Hay Sachi,

I can suggest u to get an US number through skype which u can use to call ur parents once u reach US....It cost $30 per yr and ur hubby can get unlimited call times through his service provider for $40 - $60 per month......I have a US number via Skype and my wife is holding AT&T unlimitted connection for $60 per month and also she has Airtel connection which gives her 1000 Min talktime to Indian numbers for $10.....Also we do webcam chat via skype all day (except working hours).....This is how we stay connected......Hope this helps...

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat should I do after filing I130?..please help
Hi All,

My wife filed I130 on Nov 24th 2009 and we received the NOA1 (I797c) on Dec 7th 2009 stating that our petition is pending at CSC dated Dec 1st 2009. Is it advisable to continue filing I129F (K3) now. Whtr it is quicker than CR1 through I130. I chked the processing time in USCIS site, it says the processing time for both I130 and I129F is 5 Months ( as of Sep 30th 2009). Whats the difference and whtr it is true that K3 process is faster than I130 process.

Your replies would be much appreciated.....

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshow can i apply for my spouse after how much time?
Hi,

Acutually speaking DCF is not that good option for the USCs. DCF requires lots of procedures for an USC to become eligible for the process. Me and my wife, had a basic idea abt this process and went to delhi to apply it. But, my wife was not eligible since she cant prove her domicile in India. They are not accepting FRRO letter, Affidavits or 3 months of Stay here. They actually require USC to work here, pay taxes to Indian Govt, have some property, bank transactions and ofcourse a long stay.

So any USC who is planing to do DCF should have the above points in their mind....

All the best...

Raj

Other than being legally married, there are no conditions to applying. If you are back in the USA now, you can file right away, but if you want to file via the US embassy in India (ie DCF, which is a faster process), you need to be living legally in India for some time- it is usually 6 months but I believe in India it is only 3 months. Hopefully some Indian DCFers will come along and clarify that.

US Citizenship General DiscussionNaturalization - Question
Hi all,

I got my GC thro. my spouse who is a USC and my POE was on June 3rd 2010. Last year I removed my condition and now I am planning to go for USC. Have a doubt here.I traveled to my hometown last year for 3 Weeks. To my knowledge, the window to submit the application will be on March 3rd (90 days before the 3rd year anniversary).

My question is whether the 3 Weeks period should be considered and submit the application on a later date or I can submit the application on Mar 3rd itself ??.

Thanks in advance,

Raj
