depending on which consulate she is interviewing in, will depend if you get a request for the passport pcc. if she is in delhi, she will most likely get a request for it. if she is interviewing in mumbai, chances are they will just require it at the interview. chennai, i am not sure, as i have not seen many people interview through that consulate. we are going through new delhi. my husband already had the local police clearance, but we had an rfe for the passport pcc, as he has had his passport longer than 6 months. cr1/ir1 visas require both police clearances for their type of visas from indians.

sign-in failed is something for immigrant visas when you have completed all of your documents with NVC.

being "touched" at uscis, is when someone at that office has picked up your file (they have touched it). it could be that they are just moving it from one pile to another, and does not necessarily mean someone is reviewing your case. many people have gotten approved without ever getting "touched" and some people have been touched several times, and still waiting on approval.

Charles' peanut delight

Charles asked me to post my recipe here, I want to start by saying this is called ''Pave de Amendoim'' in Brazil and it's a very common dessert in Brazil.
It requires some brazilian ingredients, so don't try to substitute. If you can't find a brazilian store near by or buy it online, just forget about trying the recipe.

Pave de Amendoim

Ingredients:
- 2 cans Nestle media crema. (you can find on mexican aisles or buy online)

it has to be nestle table cream, don't try another substitute
- 3 cups sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 200 g peanuts
- 100 g butter
- 500 g bolacha maizena
I can't find that on mexican aisles, I always order online.

With a mixer, beat the butter and sugar until well-mixed. Add egg yolks and keep mixing. At last, add Nestle table cream and keep mixing.
In a blender, beat 200g of peanuts, slowly so it won't become a butter, just so the peanuts are grounded. Add the peanuts to the mix and stir it lightly.

In a shallow bowl, pour milk and, if you want, (not necessary) a couple tbsp liquor (I use whatever I have, but coconut liquor is the best).
Dip cookies, 4 by 4, let it sit for 10 seconds at most, then place them in a 9x9 dish, then add a layer of the peanut mix, repeat. Finish with the peanut mix.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours.

rose.gif i don't know much about abuse, but can't you get a restraining order? if you are still in the situation of living with him, please document everything. if you have any close friends, or family members, make sure they document everything. from what i do understand, the more evidence you have against him, the better you chances are to sending his butt to prison for a long time. as far as sexual abuse, i do know there is a such thing as rape even in a marriage. my prayers and heart go out to you and your baby. rose.gif

The USA recognizes foreign marriages if you followed the proper steps to make it a legal marriage in that particular country. For example, if you followed the steps necessary in Morocco (you can find these steps on www.trave.state.gov) then you are fine and your marriage is legal also in the USA.


good.gif we had to take the extra steps to get our marriage certificate, whereas, if i lived in India, our temple wedding would have been sufficient. but the usa embassy would not recognize it only.
