The problem would be if he tried to visit you in the states, that's more difficult. For you to visit him just say the truth, you're going to visit your fiance and if they ask show them proofs you intend to come back to the US. She put my name and address on her tourist visa application. SHe is my girlfriend and we talked about marriage, so I call her my visa. I was planning to fill out the K1 paperwork. So should i just contine on and fill out the K-1 or do i have some other options? Your visa? If you're looking for a process that will minimize your time apart, I would follow m_olask's advice. If you marry here, she will have to go back home and you will have to try to have her immigrate as a spouse... much longer process, given people's experiences here.... Jen lol i think he meant he calls her his fiancée. First you have to propose to her, then you start your petition from there, she'll have to return to her country. I have thought of this possiblity also but we decided its not worth the risk or right to get married on a visa because if you plan to get married on a non-fiance visa it is considered fraud. yup, if you were engaged and she went visit you with a tourist visa and you're planning on getting married it is a problem. Then comes the 1,000 mile walk back to the house. I can't wait until I know they have the petition and give me the NOA1 Can you track your petition to see if they received there? Maybe you should check with the mailing system you used to send them the petition first. Good luck! Oh and an advice, if you're freaked out now after 11 days only that you started your petition, be prepared there's a LOT more to come. why doesn't the us citizen call USCIS choose prompt for live operator.. indicate that you have not received yet and can they tell you your case number.. may want to confirm petioner's mailing address as well. good luck If he doesn't have NOA1 yet he can't tell them his Case Number, since it comes with the NOA1.
