Sorry I can't help you. Maybe people on the K-3 forum can help you, since your petition won't be for a K-1 right? For no double posts you can PM captain ewok and he can move this thread for the K-3 forum.
Good luck (F)

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresOMG! Just got approved! 17 days later!

Boa sorte com o resto do teu processo good.gif

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionOpnions? K1, K4, or CR-1?

Just spent an hour reading more about each of your cases and now I'm all worried...

So, I'd love to hear from each of you what you would suggest for my love and I. Should we go the K1 route, K3 route, or straight for the CR-1?

Reading all the accounts what Paki men are going through, esp. with American (non-muslim) women are going through is making me sad and worried.

If you were to start the process all over again, what would you do, what do you wish you had known?

Thanks!!!

Opps, that title was supposed to read "Opinions" not "Opnions" and K3 not K4 (better work on my typing and editing skills!!)

it depends, are you engaged or married? engaged go with the K1, married K3, is your fiancee in the states already?

Yes, dear... These vaccines are the obligatory ones for those that live in São Paulo state (I guess it changes for those who live in Amazonas)! At least, it is what his secretary told me and she works with him since a long time ago. One of my friends that already got the K-1 visa had her medical with him... The doctors can charge up to $ 100 for the appointment, and this one I called charges R$ 200...

Anyway, it doesn't hurt to double check... But this is the information I have so far!

Hugs!

Yes i remember that now. If you live in the 'Norte'' north of Brazil you need to take more shots, dang i'm gonna have to read everything all over again :P

 So, didn't understand anything now...

I called one of the doctors in the list of Rio de Janeiro Consulate and his secretary told me the required vaccines are (in portuguese):

- SCR (Sarampo, Caxumba e Rubéola)
- TD (Tétano e Difteria)

So, only two shots and the first one, most of us have already taken when were kid...

hmm i don't think it's only that. You should double check that.
Btw any brazilians know what's the doctor's cost? I think i read somewhere it can't exceed US$ 100.00 is that right?

i have to take like 20 different shots

Why so much???

The consulate only requires these ones:
- Td
- Measles
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Pneumococcal

I also didnt have my childhood vaccination sheet and I was fine with the shots above...

Good luck,

Carol

The list I have is this:
- Mumps
- Measless
- Rubella
- Polio
- Tetanus and Diptheria Toxoids
- Pertussis
- Influenza type B
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Pneumococal
lol so not 20, but 10.

Well, if you lost your vaccination card or never had one, at a Posto de Saúde they´ll most likely provide you one, and that´s enough proof that you took the required vaccines. Keep in mind that some vaccines need to be redone after a few months, not sure what´s your case and which vaccines you´re missing.
But I think you should indeed have your vaccination card from when you were a kid.

Naw my mom said i took all the vaccines, she's sure of that, but she moved a lot and she doesn't keep trash, so she threw away my vaccination card. So i'm gonna have to take them all over again. Good thing i'm not agraid of needles :P

First, thank you all for the advice. I'll wait.

Remember, most Postos de Saúde in Brasil will have free shots for most of the needed vaccines, like hepatite B.

That's a great tip, I wasn't even gonna check in the Postos de Saúde, sometimes i forget they even exist. I know i have to take like 20 different shots, i'll look for those in the Postos de Saúde in Curitiba, altho i'm afraid they won't be worthy? I don't know how you prove you took the shot, doesn't the doctor the consulate indicates have to do that and prove you took the shot? How does that work?

I would like to know about the medical exams, should i wait til i receive the NOA2 or should i do that now?
I dont have health care and it's gonna be very expensive for us (we're not rich) lol, so I'm gonna have to pay for all exams and all the shots plus the doctor's appointment.
I want us to do asap everything we can do so i can get all ready for the K1 interview, will I have time to do such after the NOA2, do they tell me when to do it or should i start now? :help:

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionVisa denial rumors
I don't think that's right. They should study each case separately not judge the country and deny 95%. I think those are rumors. Maybe they're being more careful with Colombia cases, but not given an order to deny 95% of them.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview

You can do it, but some consulates will view this as suspicious and put a little red flag. I read that sometimes they think that if you have to reschedule it might mean the relationship is not still strong and that you´re having second thoughts.
Never seen a case of denial due to a rescheduled interview, though.

ditto. Good luck with your choice. (F)

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionhandwritten letters

Someone told me I need to have at least 30 handwritten letters from my fiance and vice versa or else I will fail my interview.

There's no such thing. If you have handwritten letters it helps and counts as evidence, but it's not something you have to have.
In our case we don't have handwritten letters, both of us have terrible handwritting, we have very few phone calls, because we both have internet access 24/7, so we can save money on phone calls, and still hear each other's voice on skype, yim or msn, and even better, we can look at each other on our webcams.
We have e-mails sent to each other, and yim and msn history as proof of relationship, and of course pictures of when he came to Brazil of us together.
Good luck for you (F)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHello

Hello
He DOES want to come live with me in the United States, but he does NOT want to have his interview in Iraq. He wants to become a permanent resident of Italy - and then to get his interview re-routed to there. My question is: Is that possible? Our petition is already in Iraq. I don't know anything else to do, other than cancel the petition and start over.

Sorry can't help you. Have you read the guides and didn't find anything or tried to call USCIS to get more info about how you should proceed? I'm sure if no1 can help you here you can always try to call the Service Center that's dealing with your case, I don't know which because you don't have info on your profile.
Don't forget to :time: maybe more people here can help you.
Good luck! (F)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHello

Hello
I am a new member and have been reading this board for a long while now.
I found this board through an online search for immigration forums.

I have been reading extensively, and just want to make sure that I have a clear understanding of a few things.

My fiance is from Iraq, and working in Italy. We have filed the K1 papers, but now he does not wish to return to Iraq for the interview. He wishes to become a permanent resident of Italy. Can we re-route the petition to Italy once he becomes a permanent resident? Or will we have to begin the process all over? And, if I am not mistaken, since we have already filed the K1 petition - would we now have to wait 2 years before applying for another visa?

Thank you for your help.

WD

Hello, welcome to VJ and :time:
If I understand correctly he doesn't want to go live with you in the United States but want you to live with him in Italy?
I don't know much about people giving up on K-1 petitions. I know there're lots of answers in the Guides that will help you.
Here's the link Read The Guides

Ok I have a question about the photograph we're supposed to send with the packet 3, I know I have to write on the back of the photo my name and the RDJ number, I remember reading it was supposed to be written with a pencil, Charles said he wrote on the back of our photos for the i129 with a felt tip, so my question is, should I use a pencil or a felt tip? What did you guys do? :help:

trinket, you and my husband are from the same hometown. do you ever send packages or money orders home? i was wondering when he gets here, what is the safest way to send things to his family. i sent his mom and niece birthday cards with cash inside. prayerfully, his mom's got their with cash still inside. still waiting on word about his niece's. so, i will not be doing that again. what do you do?
