IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI need some encouragement VJ!
So I have been married and living in Mexico the last 4 years with my hubby. We have 2 kids, and since we started dating until now he has been denied a tourist visa 4 times. Now after 3 years its finally time for his visa appt in Ciudad Juarez, its Tuesday.

Im just so afraid to be told "Babe, I didnt get it again" Im horrified, they always denied us tourist visas so why should this be any different.

Then I worry what if paperwork is wrong and they say no! He works at his fathers church so if they see we are "poor" maybe they wont let us go up, we only make $5000 USD a YEAR! Im just afraid they will say "who will hire you?!" Or I dont know a bazzilon other things pop into my mind, Im already crushed and the day isnt here yet even!

Encouragement would be helpful! I feel scared for Tuesday when he calls to say if he got it or not!

Do you think we have a chance?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMy hubby has been in his appt since 7AM

Definitely have been thinking of you guys today! I think he'll be alright. Think of it this way, even though you guys have invested a lot of time and money into this, worst case scenario they tell him not this time or not right now and he gets to come back home to you and his family the next day. Well unless... (insert nasty comment about Ciudad Juarez here).

Anyway, I'd argue that most people on this forum don't have that luxury. The absolute worst thing that can happen is that nothing will change and you guys get to keep living the good life in Mexico, which would probably be Gods way of telling you that you're good where you are. I really don't think that will be the result though and I bet he gets approved today. Good Luck!

Thanks! Its nice to have so many friends (even Efriends) worring! Well Ive mentalized myself. Well Ill let you know!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHOW TO GET DOCUMENT THAT STATES IM SINGLE????

Man, I got married in Mexico in 2006 and it was a hassle and I really can't remember exactly how I got this. They asked for dozens of different things, but if memory serves, I think you can get this from your county clerk. It would be a good place to start in any case.

It is a hassleª

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresThis is what happened to my husbands visa

Ok to explain what happened to my husbands visa here it is.

The consul said yes amd only asked for the i864. He was very nice to my hubby and said yes, but e comouter wouldnt let him click niether approve or deny visa. So he had to give him a 221g and put administrative processing. He said not to call until we got a letter that will have instructions on how to send in his passport so they can put the visa in it. Has this happened to anyone. Im afraidk someone else at the embassy will acciedentally deny it even though the consul said yes.

Has this happened to anyone? This took place in Cd. Juarez mexico

Sorry that should have been the computer. The consul said the letter should be here in 3 days up till 2 weeks.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresError on Consuls Computer--- VISA APPROVED
UNDER ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING thats what the 221g says, it is not checked on the denials, the consul said he does want to give the visa, everything was perfect but his comuter wouldnt let him accept or deny it.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresError on Consuls Computer--- VISA APPROVED
From what I understand he just said we will send instructions to you so you can send your passport and get it stamped. They gave it back because he didnt want to wait the 2 weeks in Juarez, but they said we could mail it in. I think it was because my case was never sent to the NVC for some reason..... But it sounded like a yes, i let everyone know whats up in a bit when we get a better chance to talk.

Has this happened to anyone. He called it a Administrative Error and that they will send instructions to send the passport to the embassy in Ciudad Juarez in a few days and it should be 2 weeks before we get it.

Is this normal?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIr1 Visa in Adiministrative Processing
The consul as you may hae already read wanted to issue the visa but the computer wouldnt let him click yes or no, and sent a 221g with Adiminsitrative Processing and said hubby wouldnt need to go back to Juarez but would get instructions in a few days up to two weeks on how to send in the passport to the embassy....

So, from what I read, AP is where you DONT ever want to be.... Any links I could read that would be benificial as to what my next steps are? I feel so lost in this now and the consul said there is no where we can call until we get the letter....

Ive been in this process for our ir1 over 3 years, this is just a slap in the face. We dont even want to live in the US, but since they have denied him tourist visas they told us we had to do the ir1 visa.... And now they pull this ####### on me.... So much money put in to this.....

Thanks!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGot IR-1 visa, but the do not open envelope was in bad conditions when mailed here
Hey! To all my contacts, sorry I havent been on, it was hard for me to see others get visas while we were in some administrative process for 4 months. (it was less but we never recieved word that the package had arrived to DHL.

Anyway, they sent the visa, with only 2 months to get to the states and the do not open package was ripped at the bottom, not entirely but alot.

They sent it in crappy conditions, Are we gonna get in trouble at the POE?

Look, if I were the Consular Officer I would wonder about you two. Your second cousins which is kinda close, and the fact that you are so young could look kinda fishy. But you never know, go for it, I see people on here who met online and only have seen eachother once get visas.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical exam.. stupid move, dont repeat, heads up to others!

Thanks for the heads-up. While my wife has all her shots, she doesn't have vaccination records and we were thinking of getting some of the required ones before attending the interview since we could probably get them free if we try beforehand. Looks like we'll go ahead and pay what we have to pay.

zinker, its $4600 for everything and vaccines :)
