Your fine.

Everything you have listed looks good. Panic not. We had less proof of income than you have, rented....and we were approved the same day.

Easy Peasy....we've been married for over 5 months now, and the "interview" is but a distant memory. London = Low Fraud. Your in good shape.

Best of luck to you both.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNon Uk Citizen k1 interview in London
If your NI / IR born you should be fine.

The additional processing you have read about has, for the most part, been taken on cases where the applicant has come to the UK on a visa from another country and is not UK born but is a resident.

That said, AP does and can happen to anyone, and anyone going through this process should be prepared for any and all delays that the embassy can throw at you.

Good luck with your interview. I am sure everything will go smoothly as long as you have all of your paperwork in order.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNot sure what to do about this.....

Embassy is in Manila Philippines.

She will not be bringing the babywith her. In fact she will be giving the baby up for adoption. So I am just wondering if the baby should be listed on the 156k form. And what goes on in the medical exam.

http://www.visajourn...am-walkthrough/

A 2009 walk through of the St Luke's medical examination. It seems likely that they will ask your fiance whether she has ever had a baby. She shouldn't lie. It looks like the thorough examination that applicants are subjected to WILL reveal the truth. Recent childbirth will be evident to a medical professional.

The 156k form is clear. You must list all unmarried children and tick the appropriate boxes. They give you the option to say that the child will not be coming to America, and will / will not be expected to follow the parent to America in the future. If she has not yet given the child up, then she is still the parent.

One way or another, your elephant is going to be discovered.
Ellie-and-DavidFemaleUnited Kingdom2010-05-15 09:40:00
US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNot sure what to do about this.....
Always be truthful on forms. An omission will be considered misinformation if you fail to complete forms fully. They have a way of finding out things and depending on the type of medical exam your fiance will be subject to (this differs from country to country) they may be able to tell that she was recently pregnant. I cant remember if they asked me at my exam whether I was pregnant or had recently had a child....but if this does come up and your fiance lies, the penalty, if she is found to have lied, is severe. (DENIAL OF VISA)

If you plan on bringing the child over, you will of course need to take the appropriate action. She cant just turn up at the airport with her visa and a baby with no permission to immigrate.

This will be a red flag. Be ready to provide a good explanation, and expect complications. You could have some very trying times ahead.

gigant - Many of the posters are holier than Christ (or perhaps even holier than his mother Mary). They seem to like to stone everyone any chance they get.
You have a legitimate problem and your best approach will be to talk to an immigration attorney, who may have handled such other cases and can help you comply with the immigration rules. There are worse crimes that people have committed and with help of attorneys they can overcome them - case in point - there are actually forms and processes set up for people who illegally cross into USA (without being inspected) either through Canada or Mexica - so it's not impossible to overcome these things. Good Luck

Let me just adjust my halo.

Ya know what dont make assumptions about me. I am not holier than the people you mentioned (people who I do not believe in btw, so that halo is really unlikely)

The guy made a boo boo and instead of saying "I screwed up, whaddya reckon i should do" it is everyone else's fault and he's in finance and works on wall street and has contributed so much and poor me....bla bla bla...

His attitude stinks. And that is what I take against. Your right, people have committed worse crimes but if they admit up to them and quit blaming it on other people, I dont take against them either. I worked with offenders so I am used to the "it wasn't me gov" route of defence and have no respect for it.

Dear American Angel,

Stop lyin and foul yourself and your family.

I'm sure you have been offered or approached or approached by a "working lady" in a lifetime have you not? Don't lie!

If "negotiating sexual performances" is a CRIME then I'd be very happy to leave this country: all I did was asking questions to that lady and, yes, a price was mentioned but it was all verbal I haven't even touched her;

I plaid guilty without knowing what the consequences for play not guilty were; if I can reopen the case I will but ill have to ask what the consequences will be if convicted.

Fyi I work in Wall St Manhattan and I've been working for US corporate financial world for years.

Have done 0.00 illegal things in this country not even a ticket; I created jobs, built houses, paid salaries and helped to the growth of this town: I don't give a s*** if people like you that claim to be "the perfect citizen" and try to put me down.

You do not need to engage in sexual acts with a prostitute to make it wrong. This is frustrating to read. Working on Wall Street does not mitigate what happened.

I agree with Beans how does where you work mitigate your sillyness. I work in Portland Square. Does that have a bearing? Never heard of it? Dont care? I couldnt care less where you work either.

Lets all quote the name of the street where we work and justify every s****y thing we have ever done.

We all contribute to our towns growth, our countries growth so I am not going to hand you out any kind of prize for how you think you have benefited the area.

You know how you could really help the growth of your town. By not engaging in conversations with fake prostitutes and perpetuating the cycle of sex and the subsequent drug taking and abuse that usually follows with prostitution. You must have done something that justified the charges made against you, the police do not arrest arbitrarily . It's called entrapment and is against the law.

You got caught. Suck it up. I'm sure your application will be fine.

Quit trying to justify being a moron.

I don't understand why you people even bother to make an account here if you're only going to argue the facts you get from the people with experience.

Agreed. Some people feel like they have some almighty given right to take the answers they want to hear and reject (and be downright RUDE) to the people who provide realistic wisdom and experience. I'm done with people like that.

A friend of mine (citizenship India) got married to a US citizen. She came to the US in on CR-1 visa in Aug 2007. Her Green Card expired last month and she has not filed I-751 or any paper work to remove the condition on her residency.

Can someone please:
- Explain the consequences here?
- What actions she can take to stay in the US? She had a baby just last month.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Biometrics are usually carried out at your local Application Support Center.

If you put your zip code in on this page https://egov.uscis.g...office_type=ASC you will be able to see which office would deal with your fingerprinting.

When I put my zip code in, the office I was sent to was listed, so it appears that the information is correct.

Sorry I cant give any more insight with regards to rural Alaska.

Hi,

Add us to the list, I filed my ROC package yesterday.

We didn't have any utility bills, but I submitted the following:

*Green Card (Back and Front)
*A photocopy of our Best Buy joint Credit Cards
*A photocopy of our American Signature joint Credit Cards
*A photocopy of the letter from Geico car insurance, welcoming us as joint insurance holders
*A photocopy of our car insurance cards, showing both names and vehicles
*A copy of both drivers licenses, showing the same address and picture identification
*A transcript of our 2009 tax return
*A copy of our 2010 tax return
*A copy of the amendment made to our lease when applicant first came to the US
*A copy of the initial lease we both signed on our current address
*Page 1 of bank statements, spanning 2 years, applicant as joint account holder (these span the two full years, at LEAST one every 3 months, dated up to August 2011 as the last one)
*A copy of a letter from JPMorgan chase bank, confirming that we have applied for mortgage-prequalification together and a copy of the first 2 pages of a report pulled by our credit union mortgage provider for the purpose of pre-qualifying us for a mortgage
*A copy of sponsors passport stamps, showing a trip to England in September 2010 and subsequent passport stamp re-issued to on re-enterance to England after a brief trip to France
*copies of some receipts from the trip to Paris in September 2010
*Photographs of this trip to Paris, including 2 with applicants mother
*Photographs of a trip to England in December 2009 showing the couple with applicants family
*Photographs of mini vacations taken in state
*Christmas cards from friends and family addressed to both

I am hoping this is enough, as we have no joint utility, but all mortgage applications are dated within 1 month of the package being sent off. The only reason I photocopied my husbands passport (he is the USC) is to prove that he was in France at the same time as the receipts we have, with pictures of us with my family.

Back to the waiting game I guess! Eeeeek! I'll be so grrrr if my bio appt is during my vacation in mid-october

PhilippinesK1 Interview. Possible to be moved after a year?
The K1 interview has to take place in Manila. There is no other way for you to be interviewed elsewhere.

With regards to scheduling a later interview.

Hmmmmm, I would talk to the embassy specifically about this and have it put in an e-mail and in writing. It is also important to note that, once the K1 visa has been issued, you will have a period of time in which you can enter the US on it. I'm not sure if it differs per embassy issuing but the standard time frame is more often than not 6 months. A year is quite a long time to defer your interview for and I have heard of couples successfully deferring for a number of months, but not the sort of time frame you are seeking.

Personally, I would be worried about what could happen to the paperwork in that time (get lost, transferred back to USCIS, how to handle the expiration of the NOA 2)

To re-cap. Once the K1 has been issued by the embassy, you will have 6 months (or embassy specific time frame) to use the K1 visa. This will obviously give you more time.

A touch occurs when something is happening with your paperwork. Although from what I gather from other VJ'ers, the touches are not always registered on the website and when your case hasn't been touched, it's not always an indication that nothing is happening with it.

Dont lose hope. It'll happen for you soon.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsSecond Thoughts
I think doubts are normal.

Unless you truly hate everything in your home country, there is always going to be some tear....mine is my family. I'll miss my mum terribly.

I remember, about 2 months ago we had a huge fight. And i pulled the card "I'm giving up my LIFE to be with you" (Yeah, i can be a REAL piece of work sometimes) and it shocked him into submission. Then I went away and thought about it. Thought about what a complete cow I had been during that argument....and I apologised to him.

I may be giving up my life, but he is giving up his to. With the added responsibility of having to look after me. I am really self-sufficient...but yes...he would have this responsibility toward me...to make it easy, and right. Because of everything I had sacrificed. For him.

I hate being apart from Dave, but in a way I am glad the process takes time (yeah right, ask me that in 7 months when my app is still stuck in Vermont) because it allows me to be realistic and reflect on what I am about to do. And prepare. But for some people....this is a time of doubt..to much time on their hands.

Doubts are very normal. Unless this person is your WHOLE world in every sense, there are always going to be things that make you question whether what you are doing is right.

But like gemmie said, the alternative is to be without. And thinking about that makes me feel sick.
