I wouldn't be THAT worried, i would explain it in the cover letter. This case exactly like mine, my mom in law calls me by my middle name so when she wrote the Affidavit she wrote my middle name instead of my first name. My explanation in the cover letter was : "You may notice in the Affidavit refers to me with a name : (my middle name), as my mother in law calls me by my middle name".
A little note in the cover letter will do big, so don't worry, okay?

Hello, on all of the example forms the headings say: Joint petition of John and Jane Smith. They all list the immigrant and a child. Is that what the joint part refers to? Or does the Joint statement refer to the husband and wife?We have no children so do I write Joint petition?

FINALLY!!! I received an email today that said that on May 7th, they ordered production on my new card and to allow 30 days for the card. Lets hope that this will eventuate :unsure:

Finally indeed, i've been following you very closely since we had the same bio date, i thought we would be approved at least in the same month, but yours was taking so freaking long, still can't put my finger on why CSC takes super long to approve ROC for some people. Congrats again, i feel so relieved for you :dance:

Both my Green Card and approval letter were in the mail box when i picked up my mail that day, so i received them on the same day, weird huh, but good weird :D



PS. I CAN"T BELIEVE there's few of us CSC filers are still waiting for the approval, ridiculous!! I was hoping the list would be 100% by the end of 2011.

To those who have received the biometrics date...how soon after the NOA did you get your biometrics date? I see that some of you who sent your packets a day or two before me (I sent out on the 7th) have already got your biometrics date for the 11th of July. I still haven't gotten anything yet. :( still waiting


I see that you sent yours one day later than mine.. my NOA came in the mail on June 13 and got the biometric on June 25, so thats 12 days from when i received my NOA.
Don't be sad...i'm sure your biometric notice would be arrived this week..so cheer up :yes:

Well when i was back to the States after vacationing in my country (Indonesia), all they asked at the airport was only my Passport and Green Card, note : i already changed my last name to my husband's so the name on both my Passport and Green Card are the same.
If i were your wife, since you said she hasn't updated her name yet on the Passport, right? means she still use her maiden name? and what about her Green Card? if she has your last name on her Green Card and her maiden name on her Passport, i would definitely bring the certified copy of my marriage license.
Maybe that was the case that happenned to her friend when she was almost denied re-entry.

But try to call that 1-800 number again, and choose the "IF YOU WANT TO ORDER FORMS" option, and just stay in line until a "real person" answer your phone. have you filed to adjust status from your CR-1/IR-1 visa to Permanent resident? Have you sent the I-485 yet? if you havent then there will be no green card come in the mail for you. And the brown envelope the consulate gave you was your visa, the Immigration officer at the POE took it because it belong to them.
You need to start to file for your Adjustment of Status, go to FORUM and all the information is there.

For the processing times, you might want to click on PROCESSING TIMES on top, i think the processing time for I-129F and I-130 pretty much the same, 3-6 months. After they approved your petition then you and your wife need to be in the states for the I-485 filing. It takes also about 3-6 months for the I-485 processing times, but actually it depends though, could be faster or even longer than the processing times they say. You might also want to check out the uscis.gov, they have all the informations there. Ok?smile.gif

when we applied for the K-1 i dont remember the paper says : Police Certificate for Indonesia isnt required, maybe they renew the form? If it says so, then you dont need to get one then.
But i got my Police Certificate from the Main Police Office at where i used to live (Makassar, South Sulawesi) and also from Papua, where i also used to live before i moved to Makassar, so they (US Embassy) do want the Police Certificate from the city where your fiancee is currently live and the city she used to live (if any), i know its really really get you stressed out, specially when you have to deal with those Policemen or all those people at the offices where you have to go to, they're just soooo annoying! If she couldnt get it, she better go to the very Main police office in Jakarta, she might want to email the US embassy in Jakarta and ask for more information, they will happyly give you the information.

I posted a similar post a while back. Me and my wife are happily married but we have a friend who applied for a K-1 visa for his fiance. She came here 4 weeks ago on a K-1 visa. Her boyfirend has changed on her since she has been living here and believes he will not marry her. She is asking me and my wife if she can stay here after 90 days if they do not marry? I said I am not sure?
Some say she has to go back to her home country.

Does anyone know what or how she can stay without being married on a K-1 or is it possible to stay here without being married? Will she get in trouble or have problems and possibly have to go back if she does not get married and stays?
