Thanks for posting this Sarah. Luckily, I didn't have to deal with the VSC, but at this point, anything that could possibly help anyone out it appreciated at this time. In addition that that, if no one ever attempts anything, no one will know. Thanks for putting your head out there to help the people here. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGetting a Police Record in Jamaica
I believe most police records are good in this case for about 6 months. They want the most recent paperwork. I wouldn't bother getting the police certificate now. I did the same thing only to find that my visa process has taken about 6 months as of yet and I had to get a new one. I would wait until you are into the NVC process before getting the certificate. Make sure beforehand that it won't take too long to get it though. You'll have to find out the time frame that way you can best decide when to get it. I wouldn't bother getting it now though, personally.

Hey there,

It takes about 7-10 before your emailed DS-3023 is accepted by the NVC. Mine was accepted after 10 days. The I-864 can be sent in at anytime after the AOS fee has been paid and the I-864 has been processed as per the NVC hotline. Make sure you have all the documentation you need before sending the AOS packet out!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMilitary Certificates - Bundeswehr / German Army
Hi VJers!

I know this question is country specific, but I am hoping that someone will know something. I have many different papers from my husband's Bundeswehr (German Army) packet, but I am unsure of what they want. What paperwork are they looking for? I have already reviewed the embassy website as far as where to obtain the forms, so that is not needed. My husband wrote a letter to the Kreiswehrsamt (where all of the documentation can be obtained) and they told him that his records are not available, so we have no way of telling what the NVC wants.

Anyone have an answer?

Was wollen NVC vom Bund haben??
Ich danke Ihnen im vorraus.

Best,

Good luck with your journey. Think of it this way, I didn't have this site until this April. At that time, my journey was already 4 months in and I was missing my husband like crazy. There is so much support and so much information, you have definitely come to the right place. Once again, good luck.

There is absolutely no use for a tourist visa in this case. You will have to go through so much and make useless payments. You are allowed up to 90 days with the visa waiver program (your wife just needs her passport).... as noted above.

last night i called the nvc, to check on the status of my case. i got chocked when i heard that the package was reviewed and a letter was sent to me asking for more documentation.
i thought i did everything right this are all the documents i submitted ;
I-864
3 tax Trasncripts
letter from the employer
3 last pay statements
i am really nervous about this. this taking to much time and effort and i am getting sick.
i feel a little upset now, everything was going well until now .
any second thought i will appreciate
Thank you guys for the help

salamat, my gut feeling (99%) is NVC is waiting for your IV fee payment and DS-230 submission - those are more documentation. I had same response after I-864, so don't worry. Pay them and send IV package as soon as possible.

That's exactly what I was thinking ... see post above. Hope two voices with the same opinion might help...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresworried about the I-864
Possibly going off-topic here, but have you already submitted your IV bill $400 and/or have you submitted your DS-230 yet? I received the same information when I called after submitting my I-864 and all that they were waiting for was my IV bill and my DS-230 to paid (even though they are completely seperate from each other). It could possibly be a false RFE if that's the case for you as well. As the others suggested, you should definitely give NVC a call. smile.gif

As posted in the other thread that you created... If it is not a certified copy, then you will probably receive a RFE for the original. You can call the NVC hotline to find out when the RFE is available (if indeed you get one) and at that time you can send the original (if requested). Be sure to include the DS-230 coversheet from online (provided you paid online). If not, you can use James's shortcuts to create the coversheet. If none of those help, just wait for the RFE paperwork from the NVC.

You should get your case completion in a week. Case forward in another week. So, you should be all set by the middle of July to enter in August interview list. Good luck, przy good.gif

Yeah, I predicted (provided everything went well) that I would have an interview date in August/September (earlier the better!!). I am just hoping for that. We have our 1st year anniversary together October 19, 2008 and it is important to me that we are together for that day. We missed X-mas, New Year's and my birthday already. The only thing I am really worried about is that they will say I need a co-sponsor at the last minute in the interview. Luckily enough, I already have a joint-sponsor packet filled out (Thank heaven for that). I just hope that they will accept it there, if needed. I am pretty sure I am okay though.... we'll see. tongue.gif

I'm hoping I am not making a bad decision... well, more so a forced decision..I won't be able to be in Frankfurt, Germany for my spouse's interview. The flights are just too expensive at this time. I have tried adjusting dates/times and what not, but the cheapest I can find is still $1300-$1400 (with taxes). I am planning on sending my husband the copies of our paperwork that I was orginally going to bring: The I-130, G-325A, I-864 and the DS-230. I also have another I-864 if a joint sponsor is indeed needed. In addition that that, I am also sending along our photoalbum, plane tickets, greeting cards, phone calls and emails.

I hope that's good enough. Can anyone recommend anything else? I think I have all grounds covered. Of course, I know already to bring the interview invitation, passport and medical exam results. Am I forgetting anything else important that will help our case even though I can't attend his interview?

Thanks. good.gif
