I as the petitioner, asked for a lawyer to do the paperwork. Now it looks easier than it actually was (AND we still got an RFE...simple one). We forgot to say a simple statement of intent as to where we would get married.   Will it hurt the interview process at the Embassy? I know that they do not like lawyers? Got the approval though it took darn long!! 6 months at TSC. I included just printed out colour pictures on 8.5 by 11inch printer paper. They should notify you again when they've shipped it to NVC (took ours 3 days, but others have said a week or 2, depends on where yours is in the pile). After you hear about the shipping, give it 7-10 days and start calling NVC to make sure they have it and to get your new case number. Call either early (7am) or late (10pm) and expect to be on hold for about 45 minutes for a very short conversation.     Once you have your case number, you can go ahead an fill out DS-160 and schedule medical appointment. If you haven't gotten pcc yet, start that now. It's a good time to gather all your documents for the interview as well!        I thought you have to wait until the petition goes to the Embassy, and they send/email the packet before one schedules the medical? We are in administrative processing at NVC (9 days and counting)...I cannot imagine WHAT they are processing...neither of us has been married, no criminal, no children....the application was just photos, boarding passes, letters of intent and letters from relatives/friends/photos....sigh.... (Obviously they go through every little detail). This might explain how long it takes.   Essentially my fiancée forgot to include the term WITHIN 90 days......in her letter. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January 2014 TSC Filers	Well, I did get a reply (of sorts from the TSC) today asking for a RFE..Initial Evidence..I have no idea what they would want MORE!! The application was over 1.5 inches thick with letters, photos, affidavits of intent to marry,ID copies, birth certs, etc..   Only thing I can think of is I omitted the death certificate of my deseased partner and the Domestic Partnership Certificate but that was before we had any marriage in the State...so no idea!!   Anyone has any input? They get roughly 5000 petitions between the two service centers every month, right? Okay, so each month they're cashing in 1.7 million dollars in K-1 visa applications alone between the two service centers. Split between the two that's $850,000 each. JUST for the application...each month. And they can't hire more help? Seriously??? They're this backlogged when they're making that much money? Oooh, just the thought of that makes me angry. Hire 17 more employees at 50k a year...one month from a service center would pay for them...and that's probably a better salary than they make. I know the money goes to other things, but SERIOUSLY? They have the freaking money...we're paying out millions for this process. Okay...sorry...yeah. Contact CNN...news companies about this. I will...cuz I really don't want to be waiting until December for my NOA2 just because they can't hire more help. This is insane, and I feel for you guys. I just wanted to share...   I agree. I think the optics are on our side like I said earlier...wronged and unfair Immigration system, unfair and inconsistent processing (this will be the rub), treating Americans like 'sxxt when we call in. Best would be Fox News and CNN though the latter doesnt have an ax to grind like Fox but right now I dont care.   Anyone have the information to email them both? Don't know how November and December filers are dealing with the wait. Sorry for venting, but this has been a very very long journey for me. I miss my fiancé so much. Yes, we talk every day, but it's not enough. We are missing on so much from each other's lives. He is definitely worth waiting for, but why should we wait so long? The difference between both service centers is staggering. They called me back like 10 days later.   I got a call from Schumer's office today (remember he is on the Immigration Senate Sub-Committee). His office said he has asked for a review of why its taking so long. I did not mince any words with the person who called (of course making sure she understood it wasnt HER fault).   She also indicated that I-129f's are taking a YEAR to be approved!! I about fell down. I said is THIS how USC's are treated in this country? She said she agreed and is going to have my case 'looked at' and will get back to me.   An enquiry from the TSC elicited a wait two months more response (that would make it 7 months). HE told me to call when it reaches six months. I also emailed the TSC and got an email back a week later telling me to call in TWO months time (that would be seven months). K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January 2014 TSC Filers	So this is what I received together with the usual other stuff about where to call, look for updates on the case etc...in other words a lot of words saying nothing   The notice would mean they want me to wait 7 months since application before I contact them again....       On (I inquired exactly 5 months 1 week after USCIS receipt), you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your I129F to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved. Your case is currently under review and is actively being processed by an officer.  You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter. I just put Dec 1 in the date and placed the request anyway. Thanks but they may get annoyed that someone is trying to override their system. Got a man this time and he said he can't give me an exact time when I can file for an inquiry as I am "not" outside processing time. I played dumb n told him it says 5 months for processing time thus I am indeed outside that time and he said as of June 3rd TSC was processing Dec 3rd so making it still within the 5 months and I should call back when the processing time of June 3rd changes online to ask what new date they are working on. These people are playing games with our lives mannn I'm dying here!!!!! Have you tried to contact the NY Senator's Office? I am on Long Island NY and its Schumer/Gillebrandt (sp). There's nothing wrong with Senator Schumer, he's just too popular and probably gets the bulk of all the immigration requests because everyone knows who he is. We can't forget that there are 1.8 million active immigration cases with USCIS, I would imagine a nice chunk of those cases come from NY since we have a high population. Even 1% of 1.8 million is 18,000, and I'm sure NY has more than 1% of those people! I'm sure even Senator Gillibrand has a lot to do but I feel like she fights for us little guys, so we'll see. I'm trying to be optimistic about that email I got but not enough to get my hopes up   Gildebrand's Office is on the ball I have experienced that. Very professional, thorough. Schumer's Office were very unprofessional, Firstly the phone is defective or something. Sometimes they answer, other times it never rings. The Asian woman who always answers is very abrupt and just said they will call back..they never do   Switched to Gillibrand's office more professional. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	January 2014 TSC Filers	I speak from experience and not off an emotional cuff.  I worked with several federal agencies over many years and was married to a department head at yet another government agency so I know what I am talking about. I have no doubt that some work very hard, but I also know that many do not and it basically takes an act of Congress to fire dead weight within the government.  They know this and take advantage of it, so my comment stands.   I agree..plus I think many are missing the point here. A government has to be RESPONSIVE to its citizens. We are USC being treated in an inconsistent manner with NO WAY of getting to the reviewers. While I get that this would take up their valuable time, the call center is totally substandand.   I understand that the fees for thr I-129f are going up for new applicants July 1st. This is the inly entiity that charges MORE for less. WITH no accounability.   They Center relies on the reality that once the USC gets approval of the I-129f, memories are short and this experience is soon forgotten with the entire process of further processing ie embassy stuff etc and the process of LIVING LIFE, that they know no one will sign a petition or other to change the process   Just reality!!
