Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between November 21, 2009 and December 6, 2009*.

My birthday is December 6. Now THAT would be the best present possible! laughing.gif

Yeah the 5 month processing time is a ball park figure... i'll give you some more updated stats.

Between July 27 and August 23 - Vermont has approved 140 petitions.
Between June 29 and July 26 - Vermont had approved 57 petitions.

So they've gone nuts in the last month, approving ALOT more than they had been averaging, which is obviously excellent news for us.
Your numbers are a bit off..
121 92 K-1 petitions were sent in April by users listing on this site. Some 33 of those April filers have NOA2's already.
100 88 K-1 petitions were sent in May by users listing on this site.
75 73 K-1 petitions were sent in June by users listing on this site.
69 71 K-1 petitions were sent in July by users listing on this site.

So hopefully alot of the March filers will get their NOA2's in the coming weeks and then the rest of April is worked on as well.

Thanks for that... i guess we both used different data. tongue.gif

I'll probrably leave as soon as it's approved. We're targeting a March 27 wedding...but if that can be sooner...then we'd definitely go and do that.

Another cool thing too....i'm very much a stats man and love numbers. So you'll get used to me talking about numbers until approval.

In the last 4 weeks (3 weeks 6 days really....) Vermont has issued 116 NOA2 approvals.
The 4 weeks previous to that... 56 approvals.
Again 4 weeks before that... 56 approvals.

So they've more than doubled up their production lately...and with fewer K-1 packages sent to VSC the last few months....things look promising. I won't get too excited just yet, because anything can happen...but we can definitely take some good things from those numbers. good.gif

I am pretty excited and counting down as I will be vising my fiance in 2 and half weeks.. Only a two week trip but i guess its better then nothing.

What do you guys think about us getting approval earlier then anticipated?? I mean if you look at igor listing May and June applications dont seem as large as previous months listings?? Is it wishful thinking on my part??

Yeah that's true. They're getting through around 6-8 applications per day lately from what i see on the list. So if we're ranked 340 divide it by 6...that's 56 more days and 114 days total for our approval.... huh.gif maybe wishful thinking...but whatever! star_smile.gif

Does anyone have any updates on processing time lines? I keep hearing conflicting info such as a 5 month wait at the Vermont center and now just read it has been increased to 7 months??

Welcome!
The process time for Vermont from Noa1 to Noa2 is around 120-125 days.... but you could get it sooner than that or later. So it really just gives a ball park figure to expect. Maybe 7 months would be for the entire process from Noa2 to POE though. But...as long as we all come in here and support each other, we'll try and make it a smoother ride for everyone! good.gif

This is our first post. My fiance Paul (Craigy) is from England and I live in Dallas, TX. Waiting for the mail to deliver his final few documents for me to add to our package, then after going through it one more time will send it out. Very exciting. Over the past couple weeks I have gone through so many emotions after reading some of the posts on VJ but glad to have Craigy keep me smilin' through text/email/skype/phone until we see each other again at the end of August. Thank you for all of the wonderful notes on the process. Really appreciate the examples. Good luck to all of us July Vermont filers. smile.gif Craigy & Victoria

Well.... Wishing you and yours the very best. We are in the midst of getting ready to file our I-129F. Have you noticed here at the site and elsewhere that Form DS-156 will not open. About two weeks it did and now you cannot opn it.... ANYWHERE.... at any location. Could it be the form is being updated?

Thanks.

Also just out of curocity is the NVC case number the same case number that is provided by the local embassy?

We didn't sign up with NVC or anything...the I-129F has a space for an email address, so it might be worth checking the copy you hopefully made of the package to see if you put it on there.

K-1 Visa Check list

My American fiance & I have just submitted our petition for Alien fiance K-1 visa

here is a check list I found that Helped us fill out the application

Form I-129F (u can get these forms from the previouly mentioned web site)
Check or money order it was $455 when we did it
Form G-325A for u & yr other half
Copys of Both yr birth certs
Copys of Both passports
Pass port photos of alien, 2inches by 2inches (American passport photo size)
A letter from both of you confirming intent to marry with in 90days of visa approval
Letters from u both describing the nature of yr relationship, history, future plans
letter emails u've sent to each other
airline tickets
photos
engagment proof etc.

Then once that is all submitted you will have to get police clearances from every country u lived in for over 6 month & what ever else they ask for in packet 3 when they send it to you

hope this helps, good luck

Helpful for those starting out. Thank you.

Do we both do letters describing the nature of the relationship, history, plans.... or just the American filing the petition?
If we both need to do it, can we use the same exact letter? (Considering it'll be the same info)

Hey guys, great site! Very helpful for everyone going through this stressful process.

I have a few questions about evidence of meeting.
I visited my fiancee in late March through until early May of this year. Looking at the evidence required for the K-1 visa and i'm kicking myself that I didn't keep all of my boarding passes. I flew from Sydney, Australia to Honolulu, then Atlanta, and finally New Jersey where my fiancee lives. I only kept the boarding passes from Honolulu through to Atlanta and a return pass from Honolulu back to Sydney. I still have the full itineraries, but they I guess only prove that the trip was booked and payed for.
I stayed at her house in NJ and we made a couple of trips to New York where we got hotel rooms. I have those receipts that cover a few days however they only have my name on them but not my fiancee's.
My passport is stamped from when i entered the U.S in Hawaii, and other than secondary evidence like photo's that's the extent of the proof i have.

I'm wondering whether the evidence i have will be sufficient in this process based on the knowledge you guys have on this.
Thanks for reading.

Should be OK. You have passport stamps from entering at Sydney? Passport stamps and a few photos are fine for the petition.

The only stamp I was issued was at POE in Hawaii.

QUOTE (baron555 @ May 19 2009, 06:15 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I think it's too personal. Here's what I'd write:

'We both met online in December of 2008. On March 26, 2009, Simon flew to New Jersey to spend six weeks with me. During that time we travelled to New York for a few short trips. '

So you'll have photos and reciepts from both NJ and NY. And summaries of the emails, Skype calls, etc.

Those emails etc.. won't be required until the consulate stage, correct? As it doesn't show any proof of meeting, rather an ongoing relationship.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDeclaration of meeting for the I-129F
Hey guys.
For this question on the I-129F i've thought of putting this in for the form:

'We both met online in December of 2008. On March 26, 2009, Simon flew to New Jersey to spend six weeks with me. During that time we travelled to New York for a few short trips but otherwise stayed at my residence in New Jersey. '

Rather than a long winded account of our relationship, i've seen some people suggest the short option which simply addresses the question while some insist of a page long sheet attached to the I-129F

In your opinion is my statement satisfactory or does it not meet the criteria for this question?
Thanks.

i think if you marry on the Visa wavier program and adjust status, is considered illigal.

No that is not correct. But you do have to be careful when marrying while in the country on VWP. I did this, i was travelling back and forth to see my boyfriend, on one of my trips at the end of 2008 he proposed. I had a ticket booked back to aus but we made a last minute to get married so i could stay in the country and adjust my status. I consulted with 2 immigration lawyers and they assured me it is legal, especially since i got married toward the end of my stay and i had intent to travel back to my home country.

If you travel to the US on a visa waiver and get married within the first week, that is whats illegal.

If you want to give out advice, please make sure your information is accurate. The fact is, if you get married in the first week of visiting, it is not illegal. It is harder to prove that you did not enter with the intent to marry (which is illegal), But by no means is it illegal to marry in the first week.

How do you prove that you didn't go over with the intention of marrying? Especially the first poster above who made a few trips to the U.S and back last year?

Hi there,
I have a question as I am intending to travel to the US for 3 months. I was there for 6 weeks this year already, but have waited over 2 months to visit again.

I am not looking for work or anything like that, and am just touring around and visiting family. I am just wondering if the stamp is always for 3 months, and if so if it is best to say I am just visiting for 2 weeks to the POE guard, so that it doesnt look to suspect, because they will stamp for 3 months anyway? I know it is up to the POE guard's discretion, but was wondering if anyone had experience of this? Thanks in advance!

You've filed for a K-1?
If so they'll more than likely ask for documentation showing you will be returning back home, including a return ticket. That last thing you want to do is go around making untrue claims at POE when you have a visa pending.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F package ready to go!
hey guys, my package is assembled and ready to go, i just want to double check with the knowledgeable people here that i have everything included and haven't forgotten anything.
Our package is as follows:
Cover Letter listing what's inside the package.
Check attached to the front of the petition.

1 - I-129F - signed
2 - G-325A (petitioner) signed, with passport size photo attached and named
3 - G-325A (beneficiary) signed, with passport size photo attached and named
4 - Letter of Intent (petitioner) signed and dated
5 - Letter of Intent (beneficiary) signed and dated
6 - USC all pages of passport copied
7 - Evidence - Passport entry stamp, Flight Itinerary, Travel Insurance copies
8 - Evidence - Boarding Passes, Baggage tags, Credit Card/Bank statements
9 - Evidence - Hotel Receipts, Pictures of us together

With my passport... me (the beneficiary who has travelled to the U.S) i photocopied the inside page of my passport and the stamp from my last entry into the U.S . I blew the image up so it's a full A4 size of both the inside page and stamped page. It should be alright to do that so it's a little clearer, correct? Or should i just copy it at the original smaller size?
Thanks!
