question: do u only have to take the seminar once, and the sticker and certificate will be valid for life?
[/quote]

CFO seminar will be taken only once if you're going to the same country. But if..say u took seminar for USA..and u re-married to a Japanese, you will have to attend the seminar again for Japan..that's what the counselor said.

PhilippinesMarriage Contract
When my husband sent our I-130 package, he sent CERTIFIED TRUE XEROX (PHOTOCOPY) FROM ORIGINAL marriage contract from local registry office (Quezon City Hall in Manila) because we still didn't have the authenticated copy from NSO that time. I already have the authenticated copy now (with NSO seal and I already sent him) though it took almost 4 months. I was just wondering if they (USCIS) need the authenticated copy or certified true copy was enough? We've been waiting since May 09 and I hope we're not waiting for RFE because of this. Thanks peeps!

I thnk it started sometime Friday evening when I wanted to go out by myself. I wonder what the record is.

Tampo refers to a range of Philippine cultural behavior in which one may withdraw affection or cheerfulness from a person who has hurt one's feelings.

Because the behavior is rooted in Philippine culture, the term has no precise equivalent in English, though "sulking" or "to sulk" is often considered the closest translation.

I call it the Silent Treatment.

Yeah, i agree...silent treatment. If only "silent treatment" could kill, many guys would have been killed by us, filipinas, by now, hehehe..

PhilippinesBIG FIGHT
QUOTE (Skeeter211 @ Aug 25 2009, 01:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I understand you were upset, worried and hurt that he didn't call you. I also understand your sweetheart is only human and made a mistake in leaving his phone. Unless there are some other issues surrounding his phone that are causing a bigger problem in the relationship, I do not think this is the kind of thing that should be cause for a "big fight", but that is only my opinion. If it were happening more than just one time, then maybe my opinion would be different.

Do you trust his response that it was only an accident that the phone was left behind or are you feeling that he did it on purpose for some reason? This is something that you need to communicate to your partner. When you are feeling calm, talk to him in an honest and open communication. Let him calmly know how it made you feel. Let him explain and apologize. Then forgive him when you feel its in your heart and move on. As I said, I just don't see this as a relationship killer. If you can't get past this, then I believe you have a long road ahead in this relationship. Communication is the key!

Just my opinions for what it's worth. I hope I have been a help in some way.

Scott

Yes, I believe him now when he told me he forgot his phone. It happened here twice when he visited me in Manila. sad.gif We're okay now..as much as possible , I don't want to be mad at him for days..actually, I can't be mad at him for long..it's not healthy. And I know he's sincere saying sorry and I know he won't do it again because if he did, I'll chop that "thing" off and feed it to my dogs, hehehe...ofcourse, I'm just kidding! tongue.gif

Me and my SO have fights too and sometimes they're so big that I think that it's non-repairable, but I'm always wrong.

As long as you both love each other to the max, it will be alright.

It helps me to make up after I've listened to our favorite songs, and think about the loving words he spoke just before the arguement and how we are when we're together in person...all this helps my anger disapear and it works for him as well.

Love is Unconditional...Pride doesn't belong here.

I suppose it depends what was said. During our LDR, there were several incidents, and one bad one, where I wanted to call the whole thing off. If was not for anything she did, I just got a bad case of cold feet, after a birthday party for my friend's Filipina step-daughter. Some things I saw in that group of Filipinas scared the hell out of me. After some encouragment from my freind, and some deep feeling of guilt, I decided to try and restart the relationship. It took about a week before things had gotten back to "normal". She had torn up my picture, and washed my shirt already.

It's time for you to reevaluate your situaton, and if you want to continue, take it slow, and things will fall back into place. These things happen, and will happen again, and again, when emotions are involved.

thanks po, mister bill

No, we don't fight often. Actually, whenever we have arguments, it's always because of me. I read from one site that women are hormonal during that "time" of the month, and I always want to argue with him during that time. I know it sounds crazy and I'm really trying now to control my emotions and not look for anything for us to fight about. Anyway, he went to L.A. for 2days to meet his cousins and he didn't call me so I was here worried because the last thing I knew was he was going to L.A. Reason? He forgot his phone at the hotel..that was the lamest excuse..! He already said sorry and promised he won't do it again but I still don't feel like talking.

if physically located in another country...unless send you a video or seen on webcam...

2. How can you except to DUMP everything and start a new?

3. what is the replacement cost for everything....

4. are you contributing financially for the replacement of all those things?

A smell a TROLL and a NOOB too because did NOT think about all the way through before posting.... headbonk.gif

Anyway, I also had an issue with my husband about "pasts". When he went to Manila, he saw a box (with my old photo album, movie tickets, cards and letters from my ex in Dubai) when he was cleaning/arranging our attic... he gave me the coldest treatment ever and when I asked what was wrong, he just said "If you want me to destroy my past completely, destroy yours" and told me what he found..I was speechless for seconds. Then asked him what he wanted me to do. He said it's up to me, it's my stuffs anyway.. So what I did in the evening, i burned it infront of him.. crying.gif

Philippinesbirth certificate error
QUOTE (scotty's girl @ Aug 27 2009, 09:47 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I've read this somewhere. Hope this will help.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CORRECTION OF ENTRY / CHANGE OF NAME / CANCELLATION OF ENTRY TO BE SUBMITTED TO NSO PRIOR TO THE ISSUANCE OF ANNOTATED BIRTH / MARRIAGE / DEATH CERTIFICATE
1. COURT DECREE OF CORRECTION OF ENTRY/CHANGE OF FIRST NAME/CANCELLATION OF ENTRY (original or certified Xerox/machine copy). This is the Decision/Order rendered by a competent court.
2. CERTIFICATE OF FINALITY (original or certified Xerox/machine copy). This is in the form of a certification issued by the court which rendered the decision/order. It serves as a proof that the court decision/order has become final and executory.
3. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION (original or certified Xerox/machine copy). This is issued by the Local Civil Registrar (LCR) of the place where the court decree of Correction of Entry/Change of Name/Cancellation of Entry was registered. It serves as a proof that the court decree has been registered or recorded in the Registry Book of Court Decrees and Legal Instruments. Take note that the place of registration of the court decree is at the Local Civil Registrar's Office (LCRO) of the place where the court is situated/located.
(NOTE: This certification is not the birth / marriage / death certificate but rather a certification stating that the Court Decree of Correction of Entry/Change of Name/Cancellation of Entry has been properly registered or recorded in the Registry Book of Court Decrees and Legal Instruments under a specific Registry Number.)
4. CERTIFIED XEROX/MACHINE COPY OF ANNOTATED BIRTH / MARRIAGE / DEATH CERTIFICATE OR CERTIFIED TRUE COPY OF BIRTH / MARRIAGE / DEATH CERTIFICATE with the appropriate annotation. This is issued by the LCR of the place where the birth / marriage / death certificate was registered.
(NOTE: NSO will verify and retrieve its file copy of the birth / marriage / death certificate from its archives and in case NSO has no copy of said document, the requesting party shall request for an ENDORSEMENT of the document from the LCR of the place where the record was registered. The endorsed document shall be officially transmitted to NSO through mail. HANDCARRIED document is NOT ALLOWED.)

I think they will also post the change of name in a newspaper..I had mine corrected in 2002. But be sure to tell your girl to make sure that the civil registry office forward the corrected document to NSO, because Quezon City Hall did not forward mine. I only knew that my record in NSO was same until 2009 when I requested for authenticated BC for Marriage License..They had to search (manually) 2002 files to get mine and it took 2weeks for me to get the authenticated BC (with corrected name on it) from NSO.

I am not trying to start a fight and I am definitely not trying to say that "English is a superior language", so please don't misunderstand me.

I come to these boards, an American who speaks only English, and find that many of the posts are in the OP's native language from the Philippines. It's hard to keep interest in something when I open the topic and find that I cannot understand what it says. On the contrary, I think most Filipinos that are in a relationship with a USC can understand at least a fair amount of English already without having to learn anything new. I know that maybe those people feel more comfortable in their own language and don't mean any offense by what I am saying. I also don't mean any offense in asking if people can post in English too so that the USC here, most of whom speak English I would assume, could participate in the conversation as well and possibly provide some help/information. Even if it is not the intent, it makes me feel like those posters want to talk amongst only Filipinos, knowing that most Americans don't understand them. I realize that is probably not the case and its more of a comfort level, but I hope those others can realize its very exclusionary. I also realize that not every post is in the languages of the Philippines. I am just asking as a courtesy that you at least consider using English when posting if possible.

Thanks for the time in reading.

Scott

anyone in particular you're referring to for posting tagalog posts/replies? i agree with you that english should be used when posting but we are in filipino forum.. i think that's the reason why they have the regional forums so that those in the same region can gather together and share views whether in tagalog or english and visitors should deal with it..when you enter Philippines forum, you should expect that most of the posts (if not all) will be in our native language because it's"ours"..hey, not trying to be selfish here, hehehe..that's just my opinion for what its worth. btw, have you seen tagalog posts in other forum?

When I was on FilipinaHeart.com, there was a guy who sent me a message asking If I'm one of those filipinas who will use their fiance to get out of Philippines and go to US..? I sent him back a message and told him that whatever experience he had that made him think/say like that doesn't mean that all filipinas are same. There are honest and genuine filipinas out there. As for me, I never asked anything from Chris. I worked 4 years abroad so I had enough savings when I came back to Manila. Even now, that we are married, I still don't ask because I have work, enough income for me and my daughter to survive. He sends for documents related to our I-130 petition. well, i married my husband on his first visit in Manila but we were dating online for more than a year. About MC, it took us 4 months for the authenticated copy from NSO that's why he submitted the certified true copy from civil registry office when he filed I-130.

My girl was there all day getting the NBI clearance...She got the police clearance the day before. Abbey you mentioned sending it overnight what did you mean does she have to send it in or bring it with her?

Abby was referring to CR/IR process..your girl can bring her NBI and police clearance on her interview at USEM.

Philippinespolice and nbi clearances both needed???
NOTE1: Police Certificate is required for any place in their country of citizenship; the beneficiary has lived longer than six (6) months, after age of 16.

***this is what i read in a link here on VJ. And some people say only NBI clearance is needed for NVC. So, do i need to apply for Police Clearance from Quezon City or NBI is enough? And NBI really sucks..! When I applied for clearance in 2003, my name was HIT (namesake). Same thing happened when I applied in 2007. And now, my name was HIT again and that would delay my DS-230 for sure because i have to come back for the clearance after 2 weeks. Oh God!!

follow up Q.: as what i have said that my husband is here in philippines next week for 8 days,

can we pay AOS bill online from here in Philippines and can we send AOS packet from here as i will just ask him to bring those documents just in case we will just notice from NVC that it can be sent already? please advice

Sure he can pay it here online. For sure, it will be deducted from his bank account in US because he will be asked for his bank account infos anyway. And of course you can send the documents from Philippines also. My DS-230 will be sent from here, not like sending it to husband first and then husband will send to NVC as some people did. You can ask husband to confirm with NVC whether they have it yet or not when he return to US. As for DS-230 package, I will be using paperclips for both original and photocopies, case number written on all the papers, 2x2 pics in a plastic will be clipped on the upper right of original copies. Place it in a plastic before I seal it in DHL envelope. smile.gif

hello to all

we already got our case number, it was assigned last sept 18..but we still waiting for nvc to send us notice that so we can send the ds3032 and pay AOS..

my husband is coming here in philippines and will stay for 8 days, next week..is it best way if i will just let him bring all my documents (for the ds230 packet) when he go back to kentucky, so he will be the one to mail it to NVC? or i will just keep my documents here and will just personally send it to NVC? hope you can give me some insight..thank you in advance

you can mail it yourself but if i were you, i'll just give it to husband and let him mail it..saves money and you're sure it's already in U.S.
