PhilippinesSchool Documents?

Me and my Fiance discuss about my college when i get to states but the problem is i don't know what docs do i need to bring there?
I'm not a college graduate but i had previous years in college of the following program.

4 years of Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering ( ECE )
2 years of Information Technology (IT)

What docs they required? Can i enroll once i received my GC if ever ? Or i need to wait until my citizenship changed to permanent residence before i can enroll to college.

I'm really confused , i have all the docs when i was still in high school like diploma , good moral etc but i don't know if my college transcript will be used there? I have two transcript of record since i went to two different schools. I really need an answer for this one so i will know what docs do i need to bring to states when i leave :) thank you so much!

You can apply/ enroll even if you're LPR. You will have to enter your Alien number in your application. You should start looking up and visiting the school websites now to give you an idea what requirements they would need from you. In my school (Univ. of MN), they didn't honor my Transcript because they required me to have my college in Philippines to send it to them with certification that the classes were taught in English. They evaluated my TOR and gave me credits for English and Math subjects. I am sure, some of your subjects will be credited but all of them (whether it's related to your future major or not) will be counted against your maximum timeframe (number of credits attempted) which will affect your eligibility for financial aid if you plan to apply.

PhilippinesNVC Requirements

Finally got my NBI after all the headache due to my namesake! Remark: No Record on File! Ready for my IV Packet! My NBI name format is like this (Maiden Name, Married Name, First Name, Mother's Maiden Name). Ganito rin ba un sa inyo mga IR-1/Cr-1?

Yes, that's how it is. Maiden name de Married name First name y Mothers maiden :-)

Philippinesfood likes and hates

I do ask asawa ko. However, sometimes I just have to guess.

It is hard to know what affects her by smell or just taste. Mainly because what smells good to her smells awful to me and vice versa. Smell salted fish, or pancit, or some other Filipino dishes.

We are in the last 7 weeks of pregnancy. the coffee is hard for her, but the doctor recommended it. Asawa ko is allowed only so much fish a week as well.

The other hard part is the rice. This is because of the diabetes Fiilipinas develop during last trimester from eating a lot of rice.

Darren, I've given birth twice. Ate a lot of rice during those pregnancies and never develop (gestational) diabetes. Who told you that or where did you get this info?

PhilippinesInternet Love or not to Love?
I met my husband on Filipinaheart.com in 2007 and we married in 2009. We now have a 18 months old baby boy and everything is going well. Not perfect, but we're very much happy. There are cultural differences but we work things out.

I tell you what will make a c-section mom feel a whole lot worse than pain from her incision. That's people implying or saying that there was something "wrong" with how she gave birth.

Since you didn't have a c-section, you're actually not a very good judge of recovery from it. It's really not that difficult.

I agree with you. I gave birth twice through C-sec. First with my daughter born in the Philippines and I went back to work after 3 weeks. Second was with my son born in Las Vegas. They operated on Wednesday and I went grocery shopping on Saturday while he was still in NICU since he was a preemie, and taking care of him was just all on me and my husband because his relatives are in Buffalo so there was no other help. I think the recovery depends on the person and how she's taking and handling it. The first 2 days were painful but after that, I went back to my normal activities minus heavy lifting.

PhilippinesAre there any Filipino's in Maryland?

Cool, and you are only slightly less than 2 yrs apart from her. So, tell me what I should do to make it more at home for her when she arrives please. And how it is for you here? Do you like Jollibees and Dried Fish, have you redecorated your new house with Filipino type decor? Just curious questions I have. And oh yeah what part of Philippines are you from. Nice to meet you, Im Randy.

Hello. You can take her to Air and Space Museum in Chantilly, VA or to Luray Caverns. Go for a DC tour, they have good packages to stop and see monuments, smithsonian, capitol hill, white house and more, choose the orange double deck bus. And Buffalo, NY is just 7 hours drive from MD so you might want to take her and from there, you can go to Niagara Falls (American side) or cross border to Toronto. And I just found out that there are different gardens in Wheaton Regional park and a place where you can see different live butterflies.

No. I have not decorated our house with Pinoy decor because I don't have any :D We are going back to Quezon City, Philippines in November so I will do some shopping.

I wish there was Jollibee here in MD, I miss Jollibee in Las Vegas, it's not as good as the one back home though, but it's better than nothing. There is Lumpia, Pansit atbp in Gaithersburg, they serve real good Pinoy foods.

I stopped working after I gave birth to my son and now, I am back to school for my Marketing degree.

Good luck on you visa journey,
Beth

PhilippinesInterview Done but missing Dubai police clearance

Thanks for posting the info bowgirl. Hopefully it will work for the OP because during 2009 UAE was still issuing police certs to people living outside of the country. That policy has since changed and the info has been reflected on the DOS website:

Police Records
Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.
http://travel.state....l?cid=9666#docs

It is extremely odd that the embassy asked the OP for a police clearance from UAE when the OP does not currently live in UAE and has not lived there, according to her, for awhile. OP how long ago were you in Dubai? Was there any reason they asked you to get the police cert when they usually waive the requirement? Did you get a dud IO?

I am not trying to scare you pachuchay and I think you should absolutely follow bowgirl's advice and see if that works. If it does not work make sure to get a letter from UAE embassy in PH stating that they cannot issue you a police clearance. This is a very odd request and with the number of OFW's that go through the US embassy in PH having worked in Dubai I am surprised they asked you to get it.

Please keep us updated.

Do you have an old police certificate from Dubai roughly around the time that you left?

This actually confuses me because I saw that site when I applied for CR-1 visa in 2009. And If I didn't apply for Certificate of Good Moral Conduct (that's how they call it)because I was already in Manila that time, I would've been in the same situation as the OP. When I was interviewed, the CO looked for that document when I told him I lived there for 4 years and my visa was delivered within 5 days.

PhilippinesInterview Done but missing Dubai police clearance

no, i'm not resident. i used to work there long time back. i cant go back in person as i need another visa to go there.

this is my old post in 2009 regarding obtaining Dubai PCC if you're already in Philippines.

Do you know someone in Dubai who can apply Police Clearance on your behalf? I had a friend who applied for me when I requested it. Because if you don't have anyone to do it for you, I think you will have to request online. It will take time and more expensive.

Anyways, please go to NBI Taft, Manila for fingerprinting with 2x2 photo and a valid I.D. They will ask you to complete the form with complete details (no abbreviations) and take your fingerprints. Then, they will give you claim stub as to when the document can be picked-up. Please take note that you won't have to pay there. The NBI will forward the document to Department of Foreign Affairs for authentication..that's where you will show the claim stub and pay Php 100.00 and again a valid i.d. before they release it. After DFA, you need to go to any DHL counter (local shipment) to send the authenticated document to UAE Embassy Manila and pay around Php 1,800.00. It will take a week before you receive the attested document (from UAE Embassy) with UAE stamp and arabic signature. Once you have it, it is up to you which shipping company you want to use (DHL or Fedex) to deliver your documents to Dubai.

REQUIREMENTS:

--authenticated/attested fingerprints (from DFA/UAE embassy with red ribbon)
-- 4 pcs passport sized photos
--authorization letter for the person who will apply on your behalf
--photocopy of valid passport
--photocopy of passport with UAE visa and cancellation page
--application form (can be downloaded from dubaipolice.gov.ae)
--Dhs 115.00 processing fee

Please make sure to write (on authorization letter and application form) that the purpose for applying PCC is for USA visa application. What I did was, I sent 2 copies each of those documents. I also downloaded the application form and signed it because I just wanted my friend to submit everything, not do the forms and the typing center is far from the police headquarters. BTW, they won't accept handwritten forms, they will ask the person to typewritten it. And since you're outside Dubai, your application will only be processed in the headquarters which is located in Al Qusais. Mine took 8 days and my friend just sent it to me thru DHL.
Goodluck girl.

PhilippinesNVC - Obtaining Police Clearance Abroad

Hi, you can check this link - http://travel.state..../fees_3272.html .. I have worked in Dubai for 2 years and this guide says it's only available if I am physically present in the UAE and post recommend that the CO waives this requirement. So I did not bother to get one, my interview is on May 6th.

You can obtain a Police Clearance from Dubai with the help of a proxy, that's what I did when I applied for mine. I read that link also and thought I wasn't gonna need it but since I had a friend there, I applied for it just to be safe and thank God I did. CO looked for it and asked what I did in Dubai.

PhilippinesDid you report the birth of your US born child to the Philippine Government?

Well....
http://www.philippin...rv-registry.htm

I found this:

Reporting Births of Children of Filipino Citizens

The Report of Birth is a declaration of the person furnishing information on the birth abroad of a Filipino child. It is important for Filipinos permanently residing abroad to promptly register with the Consulate the birth of a child in order for such a birth to be registered with the Office of the Civil Registrar General in Manila.

When a child is born abroad to parents who are both Filipino citizens or to one (1) parent who is a Filipino citizen, i.e. one who has not been naturalized as a citizen of a foreign country, the child's birth must be immediately reported to the Philippine Embassy or Consulate which exercises jurisdiction over the place of birth.

Ideally, the birth must be reported to the Consulate within twelve (12) months after its occurrence. When the parents neglect to report the birth within twelve (12), the birth may, nevertheless be recorded upon the determination of the consular officer of satisfactory evidence on the authenticity of the report. In these cases, the person who executed the report shall furnish the Consulate with an explanation surrounding the delay in reporting the birth.

Thank you for this info. I didn't know I had to report it and my dilemma is we are now in Maryland. My son was born in Las Vegas, NV. So should I mail the documents to Philippine Consulate in LA or can I just go personally in Washington, DC?

Thanks.

I can't seem to get a straight answer on this one. I wanted to purchase my Fiances flight from Cathay Pacific for Dec 30th and was told that he would have to purchase it himself because tickets originating in philippines must be ticketed in philippines. I then waited 5 min and called Cathay Pacific right back and a different Reservation agent gave me a diffrent story. Told me it was ok to purchase online no problem. Has anybody had success buying their fiances ticket online?

My Fiance had to go through the sputum testing but thank god he passed. However he did ask if his results were positive and he had to do the TB treatment could it be done in his hometown of Cebu. PhilippinesDoes My Filipino Fiancé Really Need A Pre Departure Orientation Seminar?
I heard the interview is more intense than the actual VISA interview and that you have to pass that one too or they won't give you a sticker...

My Fiance attended the seminar yesterday in Cebu. He said it was easy there was no real interview just a few basic questions. The only ridiculous thing that they ask for was a Cenomar for me the USC. I called them and explained that I would not be able to provide him with that so they asked for my 2008 taxes and copy of BC and Passport. Other than that no problems and it took about 3.5 hours to complete.

PhilippinesWife and Son traveling to Phils

They will stay 6 weeks. As a Filipina both your spouse and your children can avail the "Balikbayan Privilege" and stay up to one year without a visa.

I see. Thank you. Do you think the immigration officer will ask for the return ticket? I'll buy only one-way ticket for me and my son to Manila and purchase our (and my daughter's) return ticket to US from there.

Doesn't the hubby have to be traveling WITH the pinay wife to get a balikbayan 1 year visa?
I'm pretty sure if child only has US passport then they will have to get a extension if staying for more than 21 days

Yes, he has a US passport. So does that mean, we'll have to apply for extension?
