K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsApprovals!

rolleyes.gif
It will happen when it happens.................................... wait.

Um...I haven't seen anyone really complain in here. Not to mention that the OP (Roselinda) already has her NoA2. She's not waiting for that. She's just commented on the lack of 'I've been approved!' threads which I agree have been few and far between lately (although people are still being approved, just not posting about it).

I'm not really sure that I appreciate a rolleyes from someone who hasn't had to wait so long, either.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsworriness to move to the US and marriage
Although it is good to be realistic you also can't predict exactly what will happen and to a large extent you will have to just go with the flow. I am sure some problems will crop up that we have not thought about but we may also find some things are easier than expected along the way. I am sure you will find some very supportive people when you move to the US - I know that no matter where I have been, even when things were looking rough, someone or something good was just around the corner.

We're all nervous - that's only natural. I am really, really concerned about finding a decent job, too. However, as there is little I can do to prepare for that I shall simply have to cross that bridge as it comes. I won't be able to work immediately upon entry into the states anyway so there will be at least a couple of months in which I shall have time to work on my resume and do volunteer work. I can't drive, either - again, I hope to have a few lessons before I leave but other than that I shall just have to wait until I am in the states and then I can dedicate my spare time to practicing then.

Your written English is very good; speaking it will become a lot easier when you are surrounded by native English-speakers.

I agree with Islandwoman - try to think positive thoughts, and if your mind is fixated on the negative ones (which happens to everyone some times), find something to occupy your mind - read a book or engage in a similar hobby. Take each day as it comes - that's all we can really do when the visa process is as unpredictable as it is.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsThe hard days....
*hugs* It really is hard. Webcams can make it worse as you can see the other person and feel like you should be able to reach out and touch them - but you can't! I really, really miss the physical intimacy and I hate that I've forgotten how his kisses and hugs feel. sad.gif

I had an 11 month separation last year and I'm facing another probable 11 month separation this year - certainly not as bad as some but still much longer than I'd originally hoped! I'll cross my fingers and wish you plenty of luck for a swift approval so that you don't have too much longer to wait.

I just recieved my noa2 today I filed the last days of Novemeber. People go more or less in order. What was the hardest is when anyone was approved that filed after me.. Mentally I went .. hey wait what about me. And I know anyone that filed before me did that when they read my post about getting mine. All I can say if you are about a month behind me in when you filed. I remember when I first filed I was 316 in the list . Yesterday I was number 63. Your time will come soon.

which list?

This whole process can be depressing indeed!!! We can all feel your frustrations!!!

Looking back over the last 5 years, I can actually laugh about it now, but it was very frustrating when my husband and I were waiting for our K-1 approval.

Good luck for a speedy approval, and hang in there... your day is coming too!!!

Best wishes.

P.S. Congrats on the birth of your daughter... hopefully, you will all be together soon!!!

Thanks!!! smile.gif Well I have been here in Canada with her since November, but I am leaving for the U.S. on Saturday. My lawyer keeps saying we should get it any day now cause all their other cases that had a NOA1 in January has come in, but I am losing hope. Does anyone know how to make my timeline show up?????

Your timeline DOES show up - if you click 'my timeline' underneath your avatar and country flag. smile.gif If you mean 'how to make my timeline show up in my signature', the answer is you have to manually enter it in under the 'Signature' option under 'My Controls'.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but no one else who filed in very late December/January at California Service Centre has received their NoA2 yet (unless they are from Cuba, which is a special case). If you look at your timeline you have an estimated NoA2 date of June. Hopefully you will receive your NoA2 beforehand; May is more likely. Maybe your lawyer's other clients filed at Vermont Service Centre, which is moving faster.

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! Feel welcome to post in the December or January CSC filers thread in the subforum attached to this one. smile.gif

I always say that couples who have to go through this process will know a love that few others will ever know. Not only do I feel like I am engaged, I feel that by communicating over the phone, emails, and text messages, my fiancee and I are closer then we have ever been or ever would ahve been. We may not be physically togeher, but she is by my side and i by her's every moment of everyday. I won't say that i am enjoying my last days of bachlorhood, but I can tell you that there is nothing in this world I am looking forward to mroe then picking up my girl at the airport and living happily ever after.....

I second that!! While I hate the separation, this really forces you to build a relationship from the bottom up. At the sound of my SO's voice I can tell whether he is happy, sad, tired, mad, etc. and vice-versa. And when you fight this hard to have a relationship, you can bet you will fight to keep it!!

yes.gif

At times I am almost grateful to this visa process - and then I curse myself for thinking such a foolish thought. tongue.gif But it certainly does force us to build an incredibly strong bond.

and I'll be really excited to see you January folks start getting approved! goofy.gif

I think by this time in April we will have already begun seeing January filers getting approvals, and in May we'll see a bunch. I hope we're all cleared before memorial day, although I know there will be some of us left behind to June and July sad.gif

Let's hope CSC gets their act together and most of us get approved. Hopefully we all have very unique names! Someone sent me a website one time where you could find out how many other people in the US have your name (I can't find the URL right now of course!). There were like 29 of my name...it also said that once I'm married I'll be the only person in the US with my name...hopefully that means his name is uncommon in Canada, too! biggrin.gif

I was hoping that would be an advantage, too! My name's common as muck but fortunately I'm not the USC, and Alex is the only Alex with his surname in the US. smile.gif

You guys are MUCH more patient than me...four months, and I become a raving lunatic....

I don't think many of us are much patient... we just have to wait and sit it through, there is not much else we can do... we can make ourselves go crazy (and basically we do go a bit crazy over it) but yeah, that will only make things worse for us so we try to keep our cool.

yes.gif We have little choice in the matter, really. I don't think we're any more patient than anyone else. I admit it can be very hard sometimes to sympathise with people who complain of a two or three month wait, but I just have to remind myself that people who have been waiting a lot longer are often very gracious and to take cues from them.

I'm not sure why the timeline states that number, unless i'm wrong, a simple count of the days adds up to 106. Days by the month 17 Dec., 29 Feb., 31 March, 29 April equals 106 And Thanks for the kind words!

Um...you forgot to count in January there. wink.gif Missing out January, yes, it took 106 days. Counting January it took 137 days, but the timeline counts from when you posted your I-129F (the 10th December).

Congratulations! Good luck with the rest of your journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWedding-planning blues
Bex - I can fully understand where you're coming from. I've never had the big wedding dream either and would not want to spend very much money!

We were originally planning to just have a courthouse wedding and leave it at that - no guests. But relatives and friends decided they wanted to come (and presumed they were invited! biggrin.gif ) and suddenly our guest list escalated to over 70 people. But I don't want any traditions and I've told people to expect it to be more like a big party with wedding ceremony attached. After the courthouse ideas were scrapped we settled for a back yard bbq wedding, but now with the amount of people expected to come we're thinking we'll have to hire a venue (and maybe caterers too wacko.gif ).

So: No bridesmaids/groomsmen, no best man, no professional photography, no formal dancing (we'll put on a CD of music and if people want to dance they're welcome to, but no special dances) and I've asked speeches be kept to a length of approximately 30 seconds. I'll probably have some flowers for table decorations. I'll make a cake - in fact I'll make several, so everyone can have a big slice. It'll be chocolate cake and we probably won't have a cake cutting ceremony. The fun comes from getting to see friends and relatives and chat to them, anyway!

All that we'll really need to plan is the date and venue, so I'm reckoning that we'll have enough time to do that and we'll just have the one ceremony, not two.
