Thanks, bevs! I hope that means good news for our poor stragglers, too!

I believe I've posted the ring twice before - once here and once in Off Topic - but if no one objects I can certainly post it again. wink.gif

It's titanium and chunky, which suits me and my style really well. smile.gif Soo light and comfortable to wear - feels very natural on my finger. I hope yours does, too!

Blue and purple are my favourite colours, especially for jewellery!

Just wikipedia'd it - never heard of or seen breadfruit before! Mm, they sound really tasty.

You did? Awesome if so! I've never known any Americans to have even heard of it, but it's probably stocked in some specialist stores.

When Alex came to visit I sent him home with a bag stuffed full of British foods - mince pies, a Christmas pudding, chocolate digestives, tea, etc. - and a big bottle of Heinz salad cream.

Unfortunately I packed it in his hand luggage without thinking - of course it counts as a liquid. It was confiscated at the airport - big, unopened bottle of salad cream. crying.gif

Oh well. I managed to bring some through with me when I visited the next year. I just made sure to pack it in my hold luggage this time!

I'm going to miss condensed milk and golden syrup - or am I? They're key ingredients in the most delicious recipes (i.e. chocolate caramel shortbread) but I suppose I may have a better diet this way.

The clocks go forward this weekend, yes. smile.gif

I don't understand the different varieties available in different places either. It's like how Heinz and Mars, although both American food companies, offer a larger selection of goods (including some better products, too!) in the UK.

Exactly ... I haven't eaten a lot of sweet stuff since the beginning of the year ... I've seen differences because of that.

But no, yesterday he stops by a sweets bakery on his way home from work and picks up some EVIL stuff, and puts it in the cupboard. I go out to the kitchen to make a cup of tea and like what is that. So I ask him, and he's like, oh, I bought one of those for you wacko.gif So I had half of it this morning with a cup of coffee (it's a marzipan sweet - with a dense cake/bread outside -- had like a 1 inch thick layer of marzipan). Anyhow, yes, it was to die for, but wow, it sent me crashing ... I got completely tired after eating it!!! Complete proof that sugar doesn't always give you a high!!! Won't be eating that again ..... laughing.gif

Or who knows, maybe it's clicking on me that I fly back home in 2 days crying.gif hard to say at this point!!!!

laughing.gif That reminds me of when I was visiting Alex over Christmas - his parents usually eat very healthily; grilled lean meat and salad, so all of the chocolates and sweets his mother received she was passing over to me. 'If you don't eat these, Rachel, I'll have to throw them out.' Well, I do so hate to see food go to waste!

And it's always sad to leave. sad.gif Always ruins the last week of the trip for me - we're just counting down by that point. Hopefully for you, me and everyone else here, this separation is our last! good.gif

So, yesterday I vacuumed the office and wiped down my desk and cleaned my keyboard - what to do today?! Maybe I'll finally update my website. I'm not quite sure with what, though. I have so many websites; gimmick sites, social networking sites and a journal that I rarely have anything with which to update my main, official site about.

Now, if only I could eat that much and not gain weight like that girl. whistling.gif

I think we all wish for that! laughing.gif

I have to admit; I went added sugar-free for the whole of February and my skin cleared up considerably (it's not usually too bad, but I went from a couple of spots to none) and I felt a lot less bloated. I think I'll have to make the effort to go added sugar-free permanently. It shouldn't be too difficult as my only real vice is chocolate - but what a vice that is!

Alex often drinks a soda or two a day but he didn't have any yesterday and said he felt less sluggish - so maybe it's a diet change we can make together. good.gif

I've already given up dairy and wheat (well, except when friends offer me lasagne) as milk and cheese give me a bad taste in the mouth and pasta bloats me horribly, but as I prefer soya and rice alternatives anyway this hasn't been too hard to do.

There was Chris, but you wouldn't like his posts anyway. no0pb.gif

I was actually going to file all the paperwork in December, but.... Olga left out a couple of key words in the letter of intent due to a pretty bad cut and paste job on the example I sent her. By the time I had received another signed (and complete) letter more than 30 days had passed and well, I found myself with the rest of you January filers. Thank goodness, because this is a great group of people. If I do have to wait a long time for approval, I can't think of a better group to do it with. yes.gif

I whole-heartedly agree! biggrin.gif

We were originally going to send out the package last September/October but for various reasons delayed it until January - it's all turned out for the best, though.

hey I do not want to be mean or nothing but you have long time from this time on because this CSC is somethingelse I am telling you ..I have been waiting almost 4months after NOA1 but so far nothing ..just got one touched 12-27-2007 that is all ..so be ready at least 4 months for NOA2 and goodluck to everyone ..

You're not being mean but being realistic. wink.gif I think most CSC filers are already painfully aware of this, however!

yes.gif - I'm glad we waited to file until January, so that we were able to assemble the package together.

I annoy him by, whenever I visit, making cleaning and tidying his room one of the first things I do. He's usually tried really hard to tidy it before I visit but it's never quite up to standard. Means his mother likes me, though. laughing.gif

Forms and legal stuff scares Alex so most of the visa process has been left up to me - including posting on/browsing these forums for research. tongue.gif

Alex has a bit of an ego - he likes to read about himself tongue.gif

Most people probably couldn't cope with the way that we share everything online - I know all of Alex's passwords and he knows all of mine. Sometimes on other forums he'll send me a PM to say 'I've just read your PM inbox and am informing you you have a new message!' laughing.gif Sometimes if I receive an e-mail from a friend he'll pester me about when I'm going to reply - 'I want to read what you're going to write!'

Maybe you should encourage him to join VJ... BTW, how's his legs?

He'll know more tomorrow when he has his second appointment; thank you for asking! When I told my mother about it over the weekend she said, 'hey, I have a lump just like that - only on my arm!' I felt her arm and indeed she does. She says it's been there years and hasn't bothered her so hopefully it's nothing serious in Alex's case either. Still, best to get it checked out, especially as leg veins are a lot more dangerous.

Well - true; I'd much rather be in California too crying.gif

I kinda know where he's coming from with that... most of my friends already left my country and I'm getting less and less family each year coz of ppl passing away.. I'm ok with it but yah, at times it can be very lonely indeed. Like dbears just said, make him join here biggrin.gif

I'll start badgering him again. I don't know why he doesn't post; he has 30,000 posts on another forum so it's not as if he's not used to how they work. laughing.gif He does read all of these posts, though, so - Alex: Read this!

A 14 tog goose feather duvet really helps in these situations - I love my warm bed! luv.gif That reminds me - I should be in it!

I've been trying to cheer up a very miserable Alex today. I think it is a lot harder for him as at least I am kept a little busier making plans for moving and seeing as much of my friends and family as possible in the next few months before I leave. He is just sitting, waiting, extremely bored in the US, and he doesn't have quite the network of friends that I do. sad.gif

I haven't even begun to think about what will come after the NoA2 yet! Well, that's not quite right - I have, but I keep putting it off tongue.gif

Still, by the end of this month I'd like to have made an appointment with the doctor to discuss immunisation, cancelled my mobile phone contract (I'll switch to pay as you go) and cancelled my gym membership (I just need the money more sad.gif )

Thank you, Amanda. smile.gif

Wednesday is moving along nicely - can't wait for the five-day weekend (our company always has the Tuesday after a bank holiday Monday off).

My feelings on the whole visa process come in waves. Sometimes I'm very calm and feel certain that I can wait months and that perhaps it's best to delay things as long as possible so that we may have more money saved up. Sometimes I am very panicked - is this really happening? How on earth am I going to find time to sell my belongings, pack, sort out what I am going to need immediately and what can be put into storage, gain my driver's license (haven't even booked lessons!), organise a wedding, get all of my vaccinations and attend an interview? It feels like I will never manage to actually leave - although of course in a year's time I expect I shall look back on this post and laugh. Finally, sometimes I am really anxious - can't wait to be married, don't want to be apart - of course I am always missing Alex, but at some times it is easier to cope with than at others.

Still, no matter what mood I am in VJ is here - and all of you guys are seriously great.

CONGRATS!!!!! I sent my I-129F on Jan 1 and got the NOA1 on Jan 3. From reading I am guessing that I have some time to wait for the NOA2. I dont know really what everyone means when they say, they got touched? I havent heard anything since NOA1. Anyways just want to say GOOD LUCK to all and I hope we make it soon!!!!!!

Nathan whistling.gif

From your NoA1 you can get your case number, which is 13 digits long and contains the letters WAC at the beginning.

Then just go to this site:

https://egov.uscis.g.../jsps/index.jsp

and register using your case number. Now you can log in whenever you like and check your case status!

A 'touch' is when the Last Updated column date changes.

EDIT: Also, welcome! biggrin.gif
