Update on the RFE I told you guys about last week..........

Missed checking the box NO on part C (Question # 2) of I-129F.

Had to re-do that page and re-sign and date........will be sending it back in tomorrow.

Hopefully that is it on the RFE's (for everyone!) and we will all be approved ASAP!

Thanks everyone for your help last week........

No; sorry! But I hope one of those touches is your approval. smile.gif

E - I'm so glad it was something minor! Now you can get it back and hopefully you'll get your NOA2 really fast afterwards! good.gif

How's everyone else this morning? I've been really, really impatient the yesterday and today. I just feel on pins and needles like I need to be DOING something, but I don't know what. dry.gif I hate that feeling...hopefully I'll feel better today. I'm getting a new phone, so hopefully I'll get distracted by technology for a few hours. smile.gif

I'm growing nervous myself! I realised I haven't read up much on the next stages. I haven't even worked out how to tell when our package has reached NVC. wacko.gif

I was going to call in at the doctor's and ask about vaccinations today but they closed at lunchtime. D'oh.

I saw that one of us January filers just posted an RFE, hopefully it is not a big deal. E-dude, if you see this, was your notice substantial or was it a minor problem. I hope it is something you can clear up quickly.

He posted a couple of pages back that he'd missed ticking a 'no' box on one of the forms. smile.gif

Yeah, I don't think I'll be rushing to send Packet 3 back, although I won't delay it too long, either, as I'd prefer to begin arranging the wedding after I have the visa in hand and I'd like to give people a few months' notice.

My harassing skills need work. Every time I try to harass Alex it backfires on me. I try to get him to go to bed at a reasonable hour; we both end up staying late. I try to persuade him he doesn't need to buy this or that; I end up buying something too. laughing.gif

If I'm approved in June/July it's going to be so hard waiting through August to November. Maybe I'll put off buying a plane ticket until last minute so that if I find myself with more money than I expected I can move there earlier...

Oh no! On the one hand at least it's easily sorted, on the other - what a pain that it was such a small thing!

Hope they respond swiftly to your RFE reply. smile.gif

Hoooorrrraaaaayyyyy!!!!

I'm hoping these guys get their e-mail system fixed so that you don't have to remain sleepless the next week waiting on the mail. As of today, one in four January filers has received their approval. Not bad when you think how depressed we all were two weeks ago. good.gif

1 in 4 is incredible in just two weeks. All I can say is that they'd better keep the pace up - or else!

Once again this site reminds me that I am not alone. smile.gif

Cecile - I shall definitely recommend to Alex that he phrase his request as you suggested. good.gif

Blake - that is very true. I'm going to keep repeating 'it's the US government's fault' to myself while I wait for my EAD; that way I don't have to feel guilty about having a protracted break from working. There aren't many periods in life when you CAN'T work so I'll enjoy it while I can!

aravis - I most definitely agree with you; I think all of our relationships are stronger for this process. While I was fixing a snack upstairs I actually thought about how much this visa process is forcing me to do. I've never been great at arranging things (I hate having to use the phone, and I'm terrified of being a nuisance) and I've always left everything up to other people. Since I've been in a long-distance relationship I've had to learn how to book a flight, fly on my own, become very familiar with the postal system (don't ask me why anyone should be nervous about having to send a package abroad, but I was), book driving lessons and soon I'll have to organise moving my belongings whether I like it or not!

Now let's only hope that USPS doesn't lose any mail!

Oh man, can you imagine if the first time you had any idea that your petition had been approved was when packet 3 turned up on the beneficiary's doorstep? wacko.gif

QUOTE (BlakeandOlha @ May 13 2008, 03:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Be nice when you ask for this as it obligates the USC to provide support, no matter what, for the next 9 years or so. blink.gif

Kidding aside, I know there's a lot to do once the approval arrives - and it might take longer for this fact to dawn on us fun loving, irresponsible, and conflict avoiding men, however, that's why God created women, to provide balance. laughing.gif

Blake, your sisters taught you well - always so smooth with the ladies! blush.gif

Alex may actually ask his father to be a co-sponsor, as Alex's earnings are perilously close to 125% of the poverty line for two people. Even if his dad says yes I shall still feel a little guilty. Hopefully we'll be able to support ourselves, but even so I'm not keen on the idea of being named as an 'official' burden to anyone. Alex, okay, we'll be a married unit anyway, his dad...not so much.

That's far too sensible an idea. I'm blaming Alex for being both male and a USC.

That was me! I didn't get an e-mail either; we only knew it was the NoA2 when it arrived in the postal mail. So it is possible that this touch signifies an approval; just don't get your hopes up falsely! (Hard, I know!)

Hello everybody!
Congratulations to everyone who got their NOA2!

I'm back from a long weekend... it's going to be hard to start working again. Bryan started to gather all the documents he will have to send me for the interview, even though we haven't had NOA2 yet. I woke up this morning and there was 6 emails from him asking me questions about what he has to send me smile.gif Men can't do anything without women tongue.gif Anyway, him gathering all these documents makes me feel like the reunion is closer smile.gif

Welcome back, Cecile! I'm still banking on this being your week!

I was a little frustrated yesterday. I said to Alex, 'have you gathered together the affidavit of support and other supporting documents' and he said, 'what do I need?', expecting me to point him to the right guides. Then, when I said to look at the guides on VJ, he couldn't find them. tongue.gif Eventually I expressed my disappointment and to his credit he then read all the guides while I was working and when I spoke with him last night he had made himself familiar with all of the terms and was actually showing an interest. luv.gif

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you too, Cecile!

shes - Oh dear! Can you request another record from your doctor?

I had the MMR vaccine when I was 5 and I have a very dog-eared and sorry-looking card that says this, but I need to have it again and also the tetanus and HPV vaccines, too. So even though I have my records it's not making much of a difference to me!

Ha - one of the first things I did was to ask Alex what date the NoA2 gave. blush.gif It's funny that USCIS seems to be updating with touches but not with actual approvals!

My dad e-mailed Alex's mother last night. When the parents start collaborating you know it's really happening! laughing.gif

Good afternoon all. I'm so tired. I was up late doing laundry! I fully intended to start the week by planning the next stages but I'm not in the right mood to have to think about that right now. Sometime this week I really have to see my GP and sort out what vaccines I need (will be cheaper than having to do it at the medical).

So cute! Happy mother's day sunnybear (and Miss Yoko!)

Thank you, jego ryu, Pam and Miss Yoko! I am VERY happy to think of a December wedding! I can't wait, either!

Yes; I've checked with my parents and they say a December wedding is fine with them, so December it shall be! Plus since it'll be near Christmas (as I'd like to get married in the Christmas hols so my little brother and sister don't have to have time off school) it might actually end up being easier for all of Alex's relatives, as they get together every Christmas anyway.

Thank you, Jereon; I know what you mean; it's always a little nicer when it's someone whose progress you have been following more closely. And Kelly - thank you again! AOS; eek, I'm not sure where the money will come from...but hey, at least AOS is filed for once we're together.

Alex and I are summer babies luv.gif We'll miss this year's but we'll definitely be together for next year's! (I hope!) I managed to be with Alex for one of his birthdays (his 20th).

It's so quiet - where are all the usual forumers? I know most of our American fellows are still asleep, but it's usually a little livelier than this.

I have huge semi-circles under my eyes today; was tossing and turning a bit last night. I'd been asleep for an hour and a half when I received a phonecall. I'd fallen asleep so quickly I hadn't responded to Alex's last message and he was concerned he'd offended me. Um, no - but waking me at 2 am is perhaps not the best way to confirm that! laughing.gif
