I think that everyone is edgy due to the stress of this whole process. It's in your head constantly, it's hard not to think about it. We're all missing our spouses especially at this time of the year, we want to be with our loved ones for Christmas. No one expected to have to wait this long, I thought I would have been in The U S by now. EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEND THE LETTER TO BOB GOODLATTE TOMORROW. It may help us, if only to feel we're doing something to help our situation.

In 2012 I applied for a tourist visa also and was denied for all the same reasons. I wanted to go to the US to meet my husbands family, at that time we weren't married and I really wasn't sure if I wanted to live there. I had my own home here in Ireland, my own children and grandchildren, my dog, my friends, my life! I had no criminal record, not even a parking ticket. My husband had spent a lot of time here and just wanted me to go there and spend some time travelling and meeting his family and friends. But I was denied as I couldn't show family and economic ties to my home country!! I have 5 children and 11 grandchildren, if that's not family ties I don't know what is!! I applied twice and was denied twice. I think, sometimes a lot of the decisions are based on what kind of a day the consular officer is having! So here I am 2 yrs later, now married and have just had my i130 approved and on our way to the NVC. It's been the most harrowing experience. I will support this campaign in any way I can. The whole process needs to be streamlined, there are too many repetitive steps as angeldaemon has already pointed out, but always keeping national security in mind. Good luck with this campaign, go get 'em!!!

So this is my first post here. Thought I'd never get here but am thankful as so many who filed before us are still waiting, thinking of LoveMyTico especially. <3. I know we should wait for at least a week before calling NVC for our case no, hopefully this process goes smoothly, it all seems so complicated. But have all our documents gathered up and ready to go. Have been reading all the info by Saylin, and LingChe's shortcut advice. So good luck everyone.

Just got a reply from Neil Monroe from DailyCaller. He just wanted to know more about my particular case, how long we've been waiting, what part of Ireland I'm from, were the local politicians here interested, ( they're not!! ) , did we contact the bureaucracy in US, we're they any help. There are others here on VJ who can explain our situation much more eloquently than me so hopefully he will get in touch with more of you. I'm thinking of Kaylara, the dude , LoveMyTico , anuspras, etrangais , etc.

So the NVC actually sends an email when the case number is assigned, thought we could only get it by calling or waiting for snail mail. Do they send it on the day it is assigned though?

And of course there should be denials! Although this is a long slow process, we know that thorough checks are done to prevent people from entering the US fraudulently. It's the dang fraudsters that cause a lot of the problems with immigration!!!

Completely agree Hotter Otter. I don't hate the illegals either but why shouldn't we complain about the shabby way we have been treated. But the truth must be told, these people were brought to the front of the line to the detriment of those who wanted to do this the legal way. Of course it's all down to politics. This has been the hardest day for me too, I've spent most of it in tears. Usually I try to keep positive, I don't want to let my family here know that I'm depressed. I always put on a brave face. I'm sick of trying to explain to friends and neighbours why I'm still not with my husband. Hopefully I'll feel more positive tomorrow, we all need to stay strong. This will end soon, please God.
