K3 approved. How long does it taketo be received?

Even though our 130 is approved and we're on our way to NVC, we got a notice today saying our I129f has been transferred and being processed at a USCIS office! I thought it would have been administratively closed. But maybe that will still happen!

And yes you can file a 129F even if you're married. It should really be called a fiance and spouse visa.

I am filing an I 129F for my wife. We already have our receipt of application from the I 130. We are just slightly confused as the form is all based on a fiancé and the instruction form is all related to a fiancé too. So confused as to what info we actually have to include in the pack
Back ground info
Both live in UK now, I am a US citizen from birth, been married for almost 6 years, have 2 children who already have their US passports. We are wanting to move to the US permanently and ASAP

The approved 129 is forwarded by the NVC to your embassy to process. More expensive, yes, but faster, well, we'll see how fast my case goes through. Medical next week, have no idea how long it will take for them to schedule an interview after they get results from clinic.

NLR, I have an Irish passport, but because I live in N. Ireland, I have to go to London for medical and interview. Just more hassle! Lol

Yes, NLR is correct. Although technically, by the time you go for your interview you will have the medical done, so you will have proof.

Hi guys, have had a couple of busy days here. Just want to update you on whats happening. Well, the NVC forwarded my 129f to the embassy, in London NLR, as i live in N. Ireland. At the same time I received an email from them telling me to fill in the ds160 form online. The email also included my case no. LND2014XXXXXX also my case no from USCIS MSCXXXXXXXXXX. 2 weeks later I got an email from the US embassy in London confirming they had received the packet and for me to fill out ds160, already done, and to schedule my medical appointment at Knightsbridge Doctors in London. Did that yesterday, appointment made for Friday 28th March at 3 10 pm. I then had to send the online form Notification of Readiness when everything was in order. So now I have to wait for my interview which will be scheduled by the embassy when they receive the medical results, usually 4 days after examination takes place. So everything moving along nicely. Not sure if I pay the fees before the interview or if i pay them at the embassy. will check that out right now. So everything moving along nicely. Will keep you posted as theres a lot of misinformation out there about the K3 Visa. Good luck everyone!

Hi guys, have had a few busy days, my brother was in hospital. But everything ok, thank God. No letter yet but I can do everything online. Have already filled in ds160, am calling medical centre on Monday to schedule appointment and can then fill in letter of readiness online . Have everything ready, police cert etc. do will hopefully have an update on Monday afternoon. Have a good weekend and happy St. Patrick's Day! I'll be celebrating with my family on Monday. <3
Oh yes, can pay the fee, $240 at the embassy.

Got an email from embassy this morning telling me they are ready to process our k3 visa and they have sent a letter out with instructions. Mharvian, did you have to pay the $240 fee at the embassy? Just waiting on the letter which I might receive tomorrow, it was only sent out today. Have everything ready. So excited.

How can i follow up on our petition? Its impossible to call London embassy, i just sent an email and still no reply 4 days later. Arghhh.

The K3 IS still a feasible option! Let's see what happens to those of us who have filed the K3 along with the 130. There are a few of us now waiting, it will be a guide as to just how obselete the K3 really is. I've already been told by the embassy to go for my medical prior to the K3 interview. Why would they let it go that far if they know it will be closed? I imagine that if it was NOT going to be an option they would have informed us when it was sent there from the NVC. My advice to those of you who are considering filing a K3 is wait and see. It can be filed any time after the i797, NOA1, has been received after filing the 130.

This afternoon I received an email from the embassy in London informing me that as I have an approved i130 they have asked the NVC to forward my case to them and for me to submit the ds260. I have to inform them when that has been done. They will then schedule an immigrant visa interview appointment when it has been received and processed. So I'm now back on the cr1 route! Hope the NVC send that file ASAP!

Thanks Stevie b, Yes probably best to just let it ride. So far I haven't read of anyone sending in a 129 along with 130. Wasn't the whole idea behind the 129 to keep the separation between husband and wife to a minimum!!!!!

Teacup, this waiting is unbearable sometimes. You're lucky that you still have your husband with you. I haven't seen mine ( except on FaceTime) since end of May! Roll on 3rd Dec, when he arrives for a whole month! But I'm sure I'll still be saying goodbye to him after Christmas for another few months. Arghhh..

IR-1 Process times listed vs. reality

My K3 is being processed at the moment. It's true that they have become almost obselete but of late, because of the backlog in 130s ,I think, they are being processed again. I also have the 130 still in NVC waiting for case no. but 129 is in embassy already. Just waiting for my medical, next week, then hopefully interview soon after.

Hi, you will wait for at least 5 months for your NOA2, probably longer. USCIS is a long slow process. You can check your status using your case number, which will be on your i797 ,on the USCIS website. But you need to be patient. Some people on here have been waiting for almost a year. Check out and follow the Feb 2014 filers thread. Good luck.

Yes, I'm from N.Ireland, have an Irish passport, live an hours drive from the US embassy in Dublin and I still have to go to London for my medical and interview!!!!!! I know it's all about where you live, not what your citizenship is. Never mind the inconvenience and cost.

Yes I have a LND number. Medical on Friday, flying early Friday morning and back that evening. Another step of this very stressful journey.
