I would call the embassy. But, I am not sure, but if you got married in China. They might make you do the interview in China.

I would have your husband try to call the embassy.

Where were you married? Because, that is where the interview needs to take place, unless it was the US. If you were married in Sweeden, then your resiedence should not matter. There have been people who went on a vacation and got married then had to return to that country for the interview.

But I would have your husband call the embassy.

Yes, it takes around a week to 10 days and they will send an e-mail saying they have accepted the DS-3032.

Actually, you have a week that you will be able to hopefully take care of AOS payment and Choice of agent e-mail. Then you can watch online for the IV payment. If needed, you can take with you all documents that you need for the rest, and if needed mail everything fed ex from over there. If you prepare and do things right, your vacation should not slow anything down. good.gif

During my one year journey I found it to be a waste of time checking the status. Even when there was new info it was wrong.
My case was approved & sent to the embassy about a month before they updated the web site.
Read in the " Guides " what a former adjudication officer says goes on for some peace of mind.

Rajaa, Yes, they work 24/7. I had a touch on mine on a Sunday.

This is great news for me, because they said that they will be sending my file to Buenos Aires any day now.

They scheduled it for September 23rd. But my wife has a K3 interview on August 14th. And as long as my file reaches the embassy before that date, the K3 interview will be changed to a CR1 interview. So it looks like I will be good to go on August 14th for the CR1 interview!!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif

My case was complete July 16. They only set up interview dates during the second week of the month. So I just missed it. So the next time they will be setting up interview dates is the second week of August for interviews in September.

I am hoping that they set mine up early, because I am following both routes, K3 and CR1. I already have a K3 interview set for August 14th. If our file gets sent to the embassy before the interview, it will be changed to a CR1 interview. But if not, me and my wife will have to return to Buenos Aires for the CR1 interview sometime in September.

I did call them and they said that they will not send the file until after they schedule the interview. So right now I am praying they set mine up early. good.gif

Next, the NVC will schedule your interview date. They do the scheduling the second week of the month for the following month.

This is the same date mine was approved.

I am not expecting any problems. And everything I read about the Buenos Aires embassy is very good. I can't wait. I is hard to believe that in 5 days we will be together for always.!!

If the NVC says they shipped on 6/5/2008, you would use EXP 06 JUN 2008A. Because, The 5th is the day they called it in, but it would not be picked up until the following day. The date you use for tracking is the day it was actully picked up.

Well, you state that the documents you send to the NVC need to be translated if not in english. Actually, they do not need to be translated if they are in the language of the country in which the Embassy is that you are going through also.

Also, any translations that are needed do not need to be notorized.

We cant beleive how easy it was. they only asked about 3 questions and did not ask to see any of the evidence we brought. And it is for the CR1 visa.

The 19 year old is considered your stepson.  However, because he is over 18 at the time the marriage is taking place, you are not able to petition for him.

 

As soon as your wife has her Green Card, she can file a petition for him.  He would initially start in the F2A category and the current priority date for the F2A category is February 1, 2013.  If he turns 21 before the priority date on the petition becomes current, then he go to the F2B category and the current priority date for that category is November 1, 2007.  He must remain unmarried or the petition will become void.

 

He can apply for a student visa provided he meets the requirements (one of which is showing ties to the home country).

Hello everyone.my husband filled hia us citizenship in march and went for his interview on 15 September but he has not received a oath ceremony letter yet.je wants to file an I-130 for us and also wants to come to ghana this month to see our baby.my question is is there any way out to file for me and his daughter with
an evidence of us citizenship before he takes the oath.

 

Unless he has a Naturalization Certificate in-hand, then he will not have any way of establishing he is a US Citizen.
