I am from Iligan City, near Uzamis. When my fiance visited my hometown, unluckily the rebels headbonk.gif bombed the bridge in going to Linamon, so we weren't able to visit the beautiful city. We would have wanted to swim with the dolphins but we didn't have the chance, we got scared sad.gif

PhilippinesMedical Interview
When I got my results I immediately asked my fiance to say thanks to all the people in Visa journey.

Again, we would like to thank you guys for having been an avid fan of this site. Thank you for all your suggestions and advises, as well as your answers to all my queries. It really helped a lot. When I arrived in SLMEC, lots of women don't really know anything about the processes they had to go through but I stood up and told them what I learned. It was a heartwarming experience, being able to help others just because of VJ.

I will be posting my medical experience as soon as I get home. Right now, I feel like a lab rat, my arms are aching and swelling due to the shots that were given to me earlier this afternoon.

More power to VJ!!!

Geeze! Maybe I was able to bump in your fiancee earlier! tongue.gif

I arrived in SLMEC last Wednesday at 1PM and so far the flow was superb. I was able to finish my tests early. Then I returned early this afternoon (2PM) to get my results. Luckily, I made it. This afternoon was a little crowded because some of their staff were having a Christmas Party and only a few of them expedited the papers.

I'm sure your fiancee will be able to finish her medical this week as long as her x-ray results are good.
Just be positive. Don't be a worry bunny like me. << no0pb.gif

PhilippinesI-134 Question regarding employment letters.
QUOTE (The_Sage1 @ Dec 21 2009, 11:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hey GuardianOne - my fiance's interview is on Jan 19th as well! How cool. I am having a co-sponsor but I am including mine and my parent's I-134, both our employment letters(it is required), last 3 paystubs, 12 months of bank statements and 2008 income tax papers. I asked my agency about the same question you have and they just said it's only necessary to present the most recent tax return of 2008. Since the law states that W-2s dont have to go out until AFTER your interview date, there is no way they can expect you to have those 2009 tax returns.

Wow thats good news sage smile.gif Maybe I will meet your fiancee there.. who knows?! tongue.gif
My fiance is just worried about the possibilities.. we will continue to research on it.
We won't get tired of hearing out all your suggestions and ideas. It will truly help us.

PhilippinesI-134 Question regarding employment letters.

My fiance and I are ready for our interview on January 19th. We feel like its so timely because he will start working on the 11th of January.
He recently got Letter stating his conditional offer of employment. It states it's full time, he starts work January 11th and states the pay rate of an hourly salary of $XX.XX.

Is this enough proof to give to the colsulate, or will we need more? If it's a conditional offer, will it pose an issue if it's not stating he works there now, but a conditional offer?

Do we have to submit paystubs or will a 2008 Tax Return/W2s be enough? Will a 2009 tax return be needed for a January 19th 2010 interview be required? He has yet to file his taxes for 2009 as of the interview date.

We just want to make sure there will be no reason for our case to undergo administrative reviews. We just want to be together for valentines day.

PhilippinesInterracial Marriage Challenges
We encounter cultural differences everyday as we talk almost 24/7, even if we are both at work we make the effort to contact each other even for 1 minute.
There are a lot of things to point out when it comes to this matter but I'll only name two (It doesn't hold true for all relationships though.) My fiance used to say Filipinas always pour out emotions while most american guys use logic in whatever decision they have to make. Second, Filipinas tend to do pasikot-sikot in what they say while most americans say whatever they want regardless of the persons they are dealing with. And theres more and more and more...

We have been together for almost a year now, but so far we're able to resolve indifferences and worked it through. All of us who are separated from our loved ones while waiting for our petitions just have to double our effort as Long Distance Relationships aren't easy to handle. star_smile.gif

During my medical last week, I had my vaccination records with me. The doctor who interviewed me didn't even ask about my vaccination records. She just told me the shots that I will be given.

NVC schedules interviews for IR/CR beneficiaries usually around the 2nd week of each month. We missed that 2nd wk cut-off by a day. My husband would be receiving notice of the appointment, as would I and our daughter. But thank you just the same star_smile.gif

Really? I didn't know they have cut-off dates... do you know when the next cut off date will be? my husband is gonna send in his notification of applicant's readiness for interview and DS-230 part 1 tomorrow. we filed via DCF.

When I caled delbros before, I asked what was requested by the embassy in NSO because I know its in their system before, the girl that I talked w/ was hesitant to give info because she doesnt understand the terms. SO i said, Just BC and Cenomar right? she said, No, there is another one and this is CDLI. I was wondering why USEMBAssy would need CDLI? is this the marriage certificate of my Parents? i am single and never been married. I still wonder what was the use of CDLI for DV. Anyone who knew what a Court decree and Legal Instrument is?

it's just all really confusing. i called the NSO a couple of times to find out what is CDIL. no one could answer me. they were confused too. but then i read their website and talked to my auntie who is a lawyer here. she told me that i most likely my husband won't be asked for the CDIL cause he's a legitimate child and our marriage is his first marriage. he's applying for a CR-1 visa.

I just wanted to post our interview experience. Let me start to say that we got the PINK SLIP, does that mean we are approved? but when we were at window 38, the lady said that the consul wanted more document verification----marriage index check w/ CDLI and marriage certificate. We provided the consul with a copy of the CENMAR, MC, etc but she wanted another one and wrote that on the paper to get and provide before the Visa will be released. we paid the DV sept. 26, a month before the interview. the lady at window 38 said that we can wait for the DV to be done which will be 4-6 weeks or we can go to NSO and get the verifcation ourselves and hand it in to USEM between 1-2pm M-Th. anyone w/ the same situation? it seems to me that the DV is useless if we are going to be the one to do the DV ourselves and pay extra when we have already provided the docs at interview. so after the interview today, we went to NSO and the lady said that the CENOMAR and MC will look the same but the barcode has something to do with CDLI verifcation code. so bakit wala to sa list of requirements ng embassy. this is really crazy. so at the beginning we could have gotten the MC and cENOMAR w/ CDLI code para deretcho na, diba? so we are stuck in DV right now, right? That must be the white slip the whole paper w/ the requirements needed? but since we got the pink slip, does it mean we are approved once they receive the docs that they asked for?

the CDLI means court decree and legal instruments. the NSO requires that i think when you've previously been married or you used your father's surname if you were a illegitimate child. look it up on census.gov.ph. cause there are different requirements needed to get an CDLI.

PhilippinesDo you have plans on raising bilingual children?
I grew up in the states and my parents always raised us with filipino values. Although we couldn't speak Tagalog or Pangasinan, we were able to always understand them. So I guess I would raise my children the same way. I finally learned how to speak Tagalog when I went to med school in the Philippines. As long as my kids can understand and fully appreciate Filipino culture and the values our culture instills in their children, it doesn't matter what language they speak. Respect and honor within oneself and family surpasses whatever language anyone speaks. smile.gif
jhcruz18FemalePhilippines2008-11-14 17:39:00
PhilippinesMarriage Index/CLDI, CENMAR
a cenomar is for single people. a cenmar is for married people. you need to have that too when filing at the embassy. call the NSO hotline (02)-737-1111 to get one for you and your spouse. the petitioner only gets this if he/she was born in the Philippines. ours took 1 week and 1 day to get delivered to our house. the CDLI means Court decree and Legal instruments. You need that attched to your marriage index/cenmar if one of you has previously had a marriage annuled.
jhcruz18FemalePhilippines2008-11-14 17:36:00
PhilippinesCENOMAR
Yes you need to get a CENMAR. It is a requirement for all visas now. It takes awhile so I suggest you guys should apply for it now. In the CENMAR, it will reflect ALL marriages contracted in the past whether annulled or not. I still don't get the marriage index with CDLI though. I don't know what CDLI really means. But our lawyer said that CDLI is only used for those individuals who have gotten annulled, illegitimate children and those who have changed their last name to their father's last name and some late registrations. The CENMAR or marriage index should be up to date.

Philippinesvisa APPROVAL
Hi guys! My husband got approved for his visa!!! Originally we applied for a CR-1 visa because we were married less than two years. But just last week we had our 2nd wedding anniversary, so today the consulate officer told my husband that she's giving us the Immigrant visa where we don't have to lift the conditions! I just got off the phone with my husband. We filed DCF. But the catch is whenever you file a DCF, make sure that when it comes to the interview the petitioner should NOT be there. The lady consulate told my husband that it was a good thing I decided to go back to the states because if I was in the Philippines with my husband at the time of the interview, he would've gotten denied. She said the purpose of visas are to reunite families and it wouldn't have a purpose if I was there with my husband in the Philippines because we would already be together. Okay here are the questions that my husband was asked:

FIRST WINDOW - window 14 (prescreener)
--The only documents she got from my husband was: his birth certificate, my birth certificate, NBI clearance, marriage certificate, my I-864, my parent's I-864A and 2007 ITR
--The questions she asked my husband were:
--What is your full name?
--When is your birthday?
--Who is your petitioner?
--How old is she?
--When did you guys get married?
--It says here that your wife is a full time medical student, so who is supporting you right now?

FINGERPRINTING

FINAL INTERVIEW - window 20

--My husband said that she was a very nice middle aged woman. My husband didn't sit down right away. He waited for the CO to ask him to sit down.
--The questions she asked my husband were:
--Have you ever been to the United States?
--Have you ever worked abroad?
--Who is your petitioner?
--What is her name?
--How old is she?
--When did you get married?
--Was it a civil ceremony or church ceremony?
--Does your spouse work?
--When and why did she go home to the United States? (this is for the domicile requirement)
--What is your father-in-law's name?
--Where does your father-in-law work?
--Does your mother-in-law have a job? Where?

Then the CO told my husband, "Your documents are okay. I am telling you now that I am approving your US visa!"

WINDOW 37 - PINK SLIP!!!!

PAID for DELBROS delivery
- 250 pesos for metro manila delivery
