Does S&R require membership? There is one near our place in the philipines. Would just tell my mom to buy from S&R for her pasalubong if it is cheaper there.


yeah there is a 700 peso membership fee. But the savings there are pretty good. I went to medical school in the Philippines and I missed alot of stuff from home you know. So when I went to S&R for teh first time, I was like WOW. It felt like I was home. smile.gif Hehe Don't buy the Bounty paper towels there though.... SO expensive. hehe

you might not want to get your ticket without a visa. yeah the fares are probably gonna go up cause peak season is coming up. but it is better to be sure. my mom recently extended her stay in the Philippines and had to pay a rebooking fee with Northwest Airlines for 350 USD.

we scheduled my husband's interview about a little over a month before the actual interview date. everytime i would type in his case number on the appointment thing on the USEM website, it always said that case appointment not found... i got worried too. but don't worry, as long as you ahve the confirmation, everything will be all good. smile.gif

you can enroll in the CPR course for the professional rescuer and first aid classes with the American Red Cross. The CPR certification and class cost 79.99. It takes one whole day. the first aid classes take longer and are a little pricier. I got certified before residency. good luck!
