I'm reeling. It feels great to be through with that part and one step closer to making the dream a reality. Best of luck to the rest of my fellow May filers. Please beat my 117 days!

I got an RFE on 8/22. I found out by calling on Wednesday and then received an email yesterday. Hopefully I'll get the official letter in the mail this weekend explaining what they need from me and I'll send them what they're requesting right away. It's my understanding from these forums the NOA2 comes pretty fast after you send the updated information. But the good news is they are working on May cases.

NVC is really cranking right now so you might be like us and get you NOA2 hardcopy the same day you get your Letter from NVC. I almost fell over when I opened the mailbox coz I got a twofer.....

And some advice about NVC.... You can call them anytime but best before 8 am or after 6 PM (they work till midnight). THey are a lot easier to talk to than USCIS. Also ignore the recorded messages about your case not being in there system. Press 2 and you will always get to a real person wholl give you the straight scoop (ie not a scripted message) though they will tell you that it will be about 2 weeks which is thier "average processing time" (maybe that part is scripted)but there target is 5 days door to door then out to the embassy.

Some more advice, take a few days and let it sink in and enjoy the break from waiting. Then get ready for more paperwork for the embassy (Packet 3).

For 120+ days I had gotten into a routine of waking up, checking stauts, being disappointed, going to work, checking status, being disappointed, coming home, making dinner, checking status, being disappointed, going to bed, being sad, sleeping kind of, dreaming about checking status and being disappointed...and then morning came and it all started again I really DO need a bit a break to sort of regroup and absorb so I can get my head together for the next round.

OK new day means new approvals. I was thinking last week that Friday, Saturday and Sunday were a complete and total BUST as it seemed like nothing happened after Teresa and Eric were approved but obviously I was wrong as someone was working on Saturday to get us approved so I have high hopes that this end of week time isn't gonna be just another long wait to get to Monday.

I am doing the get my freinds approved dance over here! so when you DO get approved, make sure you post here!

Thanks Teresa, I am just happy I got the e mail saying we were approved, as I would be stressing about why I hadn't gotten that over the next few days. I find it interesting though that the USCIS Officer told me the NOA2 was mailed on the 18th but the e mail notice I got today said it was generated today the 22nd. wacko.gif It's tempting to call Officer so-and so up and say, "liar, liar pants on fire, it was SO not mailed out on the 18th it was mailed out today!" but I imagine that would be unwise. I mean I wouldn't want somethng mysterious to happen to our petition in transit, if you know what I mean... wink.gif

Just got my notice via email saying we were approved biggrin.gif so now it feels somewhat more 'real' if that makes sense. I am always skeptical when it comes to customer service at USCIS as we have heard so many stories about processing time etc. But i am happy to hear we were approved on a Saturday! That means someone is working weekend! YAY that person! Please work on my friend's petitions now, please.

I am sorry the RFE trick didn't work for you Sienna, but as I said, that officer sounded really suspicious when I phoned, think the old RFE trick might be one of those deals that has been sussed out and they are becoming more reluctant about giving out info.

oh and I did eventually locate my finace. He was asleep! He had come home from work and fallen asleep on the couch. Eventually he got my texts and called me. He is very happy but is now starting to worry about all the 'junk' he owns and how to get rid of it as he can't bring it all over with him. smile.gif

Hope we get some more good news this week! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you all!

ooops just saw a BIG BOO BOO in my post as I re-read it... approved on AUGUST 18! Not May 18 hahahaha, can you even imagine that?? Thank you all so much for your lovely comments. I am really just flying right now can't think straight at all. And I still can't get a hold of my fiance, where the HECK is he???

As for the RFE trick, think she sort of figured out that it was indeed some kind of sneaky way to find out what our status was as she said, "I don't know why you would think that you had a RFE when you were approved and there is no indication on your online status saying otherwise" she sounded highly suspicious. I remained innocent.gif when inside I was thinking, hee, hee, hee... devil.gif

You know, had I not called I wouldn't have known we had been approved as our online status still says 'received and pending' blink.gif so I would definitely suggest that you guys call if you see that you are getting touches as obviously something is going on and they aren't updating things very well.

I am keeping my fingers crossed and saying tonz of prayers for all of you. I want to see all my May Filer friends getting approvals SOONER (as in NOW would be nice) rather than later!

Just called USCIS using RFE trick because I am impatient and could not wait any longer and found out we were APPROVED on May 18! dancin5hr.gif I was so shocked I made her repeat it twice. She said the NOA2 was generated and should be arriving soon. I am so HAPPY! I cannot even beleive it!

Thanks SO much gang for being my support system and being there for me with your good thoughts and prayers. You guys are the best!

My hands are shaking so much I can't type. And where the HELL is my finace?? I can't get a hold of him!

As for the wedding, we aren't going to do anything very exciting. Likely we will be married at the courthouse as neither one of us will have family around to really celebrate the big day (his are all in Ireland, mine are in California). We may have a celebration of sorts after the marriage cerermony celebrate with loved ones at a later time. smile.gif

For the now though I just want to know what is happening with my petition. no new touches this morning or e mail saying RFE or Approved. crying.gif but it's early yet so I will give it some more time before I start the 'every minute checks' on the old email account. And I am not ruling out the RFE trick if I start to truly go insane with the waiting game. *sigh* Do they not have ANY idea how much emotional torture they are putting us through?? headbonk.gif
