What visa are you applying for? What part of the process are you at?? You said your husband is still awaiting his visa but you have AOS? That doesn't seem to make sense to me.

You need to provide us with a bit more information in order for us to help you.

Fill in your timeline too, as it will help too!!

It might help also to narrow your search. IT is a pretty broad category these days so where is most of your experience?

Phone support
Deskside Support
Systems Administrator
Security Administrator
Enterprise Systems Management
Data Center Support/Management
Software Development
etc...

Since IT is a wide field narrowing your search on the job sites can help you better find a job that fits your talents. If you've had a lot of experience working with one specific product or OS you can use those in your keyword search as well since some jobs require very narrow experience.

I know it can be tough finding a new job in this field it often feels like your experience only applies in the environment that you're used to however I'm sure there's something in your experience that will help you stand out and bridge the gap to your next job.

hi VJers ... just want to know some information regarding JOBS Hunting in Fairfield, California or nearby place. I'm from Information Technology industry. Do i need to get some certifications or exams to be able to find a stable job.

I live out in Arizona so I can't be a lot of help with local jobs but I got my current job by posting on Monster. Education is dependent a lot on what experience you can show on your resume. If you make a resume for monster be sure to put as much as you can on it since Employers will find you based on keyword searches. A large number of the jobs in this field now are remote so be prepared to apply to jobs out of state that may require some on site followed by being 100% remote.

Good luck with your job hunt.

Bryan,

I responded to your post like 3 days ago my friend.
Get a good immigration attorney. And please do not try to just 'bring your wife' over, since this would even more complicate your case.
Good luck in your journey.

do not try to just 'bring your wife' over???? that is the whole reason i filled k3 in the first place! you responedto my add thanks but i have several questions
that i am hopping someone will awsner i want to go to mexico this week butt if i have a interview approching soon i want to wait i do not have the money to make several trips

Take a look at the K3 flow chart for an idea of what to expect through the process.
http://www.visajourn...amp;page=k3flow

People are concerned that you would bring your wife over before your K3 has been granted. If you do that you would risk your wife being here out of status. Being out of status could result in a ban that could significantly extend the length of time it would take to complete the process. No one here is trying to prevent you from being with your wife, they are just concerned about misunderstandings of the process leading to more hardship.

There are several people that filed close to the fee change that have been experiencing long waits. Reading some posts in the forums will give you plenty more information on this.

Can some one tell me why the USCIS Vermont Center website says June 6th 2007 is the processing time for I-130?
It is a typo for 2008 no?

June 6th 2007 looks right 2008 would be in the future.

This is the date of receipt for the cases that they are processing currently.

Okay so I work through all the ####### and spend all the countless hours that I know everyone does and it's off in the mail. But as I'm looking through everything tonight I see that I may have sent them the incorrect version or revision of the I-130. What a moron!! Could it be? The problem is....I don't know. I know I caught the revision today assembling the packet and changed it, but not sure if it made it to the packet. What happens and I'm afraid to ask, but what will they do if I have the old revision on this form the I-130. The most important form. What a moron.

Thanks for any input.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresfiling the the U.S., but interview overseas
The easiest answer is yes. Just to be sure as you never know what they might or might not ask for. Be sure also to make copies of all the documentation they ask for in Packet 3 just so that you have copies in case they ask for extra. Better to be safe then sorry!

I would suggest before filing for an expedite to get your senator or congressman involved. I know it has helped people, including myself, in the past. You might have more success in getting action taken on your case approaching it from that angle first.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionmedical exam and timing
QUOTE (horst+brunnhilda @ Feb 12 2008, 06:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi everyone,

Does anyone know what the deal is with timing and the medical exam for the consulate? We are going through the Frankfurt consulate for our K1 (just received and sent off the packet 3 checklist), and the information from the consulate says that you're supposed to have your medical 6 weeks before you want to enter the US at the latest. It seems that in Germany, the interview at the consulate and medical exams often happen in the same day. Does that mean we will have to wait at least another 6 weeks after the medical before we get the visa? We would like my fiancee to leave for the US as soon as possible after the interview date, so should we try to do the medical now, and not even wait to receive an interview date?

Thank you all for your help, we appreciate it so much!

For here in Canada your medical is good for one full year, however, you are required to book your medical with an outside agency here. So as long as your interview is within a year of your interview you would be fine. I'm not sure what all the requirements are for your country, however that is what they are here.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPacket 3 question
Packet three explains all the documents you need to have prepared before you go in for your interview. There isn't much you can do before you receive packet three as you need the case number that is on the packet to complete some of the asked questions.

Again though, it is all consulate dependent.

Hello, all!

How recent should pay stubs/letter from employer/bank letter etc be when my fiance brings them to the interview?

If, say, her interview is in June, is it ok if the support paperwork is from May? April? March? I haven't heard of any guidelines about this subject...

Thank you!

When i went for my interview in february 2008 the letter from my fiancee's bank and employer were date in July of 2007 and I had no problems.

I filed my initial paperwork in March of 2007 and just had my interview at the beginning of Feb. in Montreal. I waited 6 months for my interview in montreal, so be patient. I have heard lately that a few people are getting them in about 4 months. So it just depends.

Unfortunately you just have to be patient.

Once i had my interview though I had my passport and visa back in hand within a week.

I'm about to receive the fiance package, I visited the Ciudad Juarez Embassy website, and I'm starting to fill the forms and get everything ready before the package arrives, but I'm worried about to proof I have "adequate means of financial support and will not become a public charge in the United States"cause I don't have a job and I live with my parents, I don't have bank accounts, etc...I wonder how important is this for inmigration. I had a job, but I quit cause I went to visit my fiance to the States many times and it wasn't possible for me to take so many days off. My parents work for the government, and the only job I could mention, is a substitute job I have in the government cause of my parents and it's a permanent job, everytime they need to substitute someone they call me, to substitute them for a temporaty time. I can ask my dad to put money in the bank for me, so I can show them that, but I think my interview it's going to be soon, within a month, so I don't know if a bank account from a month ago will be very convincent..

could you please help me with some advice???
Abril

The financial Support form is to be filled out by the USC. It's a notarized document showing evidence that the USC or the USC with a co-sponsor are financially able to support you in the US. You need to get your sponsor to send it to you once they have filled it out and had it notarized.

Hi VJ,

I have a question…..

Can someone tell how much time a person have to enter the US once a K1 Visa is issued? Specifically, the US Embassy is in Cambodia. I think its six months but I just want to confirm.

Someone told me that its 3 month so I am a little concern because it will affect me and my fiancée’s plans.

Thank you in advance.

it's actually 120 Days...worldwide...so 4 months

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionURGENT I NEED A RESPONSE
It takes about 2-3 months to get your AP documents. With a K-1, it is a one time entry VISA and therefore he won't be able to return without AP documents or a greencard. You might be cutting it close with a trip in june.

Hope that helps a bit,

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLetter of employment
Is it possible that you misunderstood their response? My employer no longer allows local managers to fill out letters of employment. It has been centralized at the national level and I need to fill out a form to get one. Is it possible that WalMart is the same way. It sounds like this record of employment that they are offering is roughly what you need you just need to find the form that they referring to and submit it.

Don't worry this whole process tends to stress us out but in the end it's worth it.

You're not asking for an uncommon thing my bank required the letter in order to qualify for my mortgage.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionWill affidavit of support be mailed to me?
The affidavit of support is the I-134 which can be found on this website or on the USCIS website. It needs to be completed by the USC and sent to the beneficiary with all the supporting documents prior to the interview as it will be requested at the interview.

No one sends you anything for the I-134, it is done by the USC.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionQuestion about pay-stubs
QUOTE (JULIAFERNO @ Apr 29 2008, 01:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Ok - I'm almost ready to send off my Affidavit of Support to my fiance, but one last question...

I work for my father's company, and while it is a full-time, permanant position, I work as an independent contractor, meaning nothing is deducted from my paycheck and I instead receive a 1099. It is a small company, so my father writes the employees company checks - there is no formal payroll system, so I don't have any pay stubs. He said he can create pay stubs that reflect my income - but is that necessary? My income tax returns reflect, for all intents and purposes that I am a self-employed independent contractor.

So...pay stubs or no?

If you are a 1099 employee then technically you are self employed and you are contracting yourself out to your father. Follow the instructions for being self employed and you should be alright. No idea what a commercial rating concern is but you should have a copy of your last tax return.

Hope this helps

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionbest way to be with your partner if not ready for marriage?
The only way to come here to visit and to work you must have a work visa. These are pretty hard to get.

Unfortunately there isn't an easy way to spend time together when living in different countries.

Sorry! I'm sure someone on here will have some ideas for you though, this is a great site!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionIs tax return documentation mandatory for the I-134?
I'm not sure if it is absolutely mandatory, but I know that I was specifically asked for them at my interview. If for some reason you do not have tax returns, whatever the reason, I suggest have some form of legitimate documentation stating as to why you don't have any.

You aren't required to be at the interview so I wouldn't think that they would see that as a valid reason to move up the interview.

My NOA2 had expired 3 months before my interview and I had no problems. I didn't even realize it til I was at the interview, but I was never asked to show it at my interview. You can also email them to inform them that your NOA2 is about to expire and they will make note of it and extend it. They won't reschedule your interview just for tha tone reason.
