Ok - all this talk of touching has planted the seed of touchiness in my head and all I want now is some kind of progress!! This is just a rant really as I know it's not been that long in terms of K-1 standards but where I used to check the USCIS website once a day, now I am checking whenever I have a spike of impatience which is becoming more and more frequent.

Obviously most here are in the same situation so how is everyone stopping themselves from going insane? I already live on this forum in work at the moment!!



I can't even get on this page from work, need to wait til I get home! I currently check USCIS status say every 2-3 days. Last week I managed to go 4 whole days. Believe me this has nothing to do with me having saintly patience, I'm anything but patient. It's basically due to the fact I'm obsessing over wedding plans. It's done me good to have something else to stress, obsess and worry about. I keep getting asked how progress coming along and I usually just reply with.."it's not". Here's something.....I've not even told all my friends here that I'm getting married. Leaving it to the last moment as I don't want them throwing a wobbly that I'm not having it here, trust me, some of them will be most annoyed that I'm not doing it here and doing the full celtic thing like they all do.

oh and as another note....thats a fair few of VSC's over the half way point of supposed 90days NOA1-NOA2. In 12 days time I'll be at the current CSC half way point!!!!!! Not too bad so far!!!!! My biggest worry is what if we book everything and then it goes kilt up and we get declined or something for some stupid reason. ARRRRRRG now I've gone and got myself all super stressed.

it may take longer as your file will get transferred to CSC. Don't worry about it....save the worry for interview time!!!!!

You know, I don't know what date to use for the NOA1 anymore.

I always thought it was the notice date on the hard copy which for me is the same as the received date on the USCIS website. However, bszoom42 who produces the great K1 & K3 status reports insists that we should be entering the received date on the hard copy. For me, that is the same day they physically received the petition in Vermont.

VJ says to enter the "receipt", but that could mean the received date on the USIS website or the received date on the hard copy. wacko.gif

The NOA1 date has no impact on the projected adjudication date so I guess it is not very important. However, it would be nice if everyone was entering it the same way.

From what I gather anyone filed mid-late july are having to wait quite a while for NOA1. It seems the SC's are bogged down due to pre fee increase rush. I just hope things speed up. By the end of this week I'll have taken the plunge and booked my wedding date!!!

this is the church and number 1 choice just now. Nick's mum works at the museum. The grounds are lovely and there is an old town area, gardens, gazebo, lake etc and by old I mean 1888 ish.........church site

this is the gazebo in the rock gardens in Kearny....bit further to travel but alot cheaper unfortunatly at the mercy of the elements Rock garden gazebo


so whats everyones feelings...you could all have a say in our wedding!! (not saying I'll pay attention though hahah)

Well we have decided to take the risk. We are booking our wedding date!! Going to be last week in April, just waiting on confirmations. That will be 9months and 3 weeks from filing date. So far waiting on 2 venues getting back to us, one is a gazebo in a rock garden in Kearney, NE. Which will be nice. Other option, if I can drag some cash to help out from my parents will be a VERY old church in Grand Island. So as long as I can get everything prcessed including interview (hopefully successfully) by early March I'll be happy.

of course she will. I am the most un-girlie girl I know...I hate shopping, love anything with an engine (inc fixing up old bikes and cars), parachute jump, scubadive and I'm addicted to PC gaming. But this whole getting married stuff has brought out what I believe is an imbedded gene that makes me think about dresses, flowers and soppy romantic stuff. ......at least I get to look at wedding cars too, mind you I'm considering horseback!!!!
One thing I'm looking forward to over there is buying myself a classic american car (1950's-60's) and fixing it up. Can't believe I need to do another driving test though....been on the roads 10 and half years here and the only wreck I've had was when someone drove into the back of my car so hard they wrote it off!

well I only work away from home 8am-1pm mon-fri and then if I have a location shoot or a wedding to photograph. The rest I either work from home or he comes with me. I'm winding down my own business now due to...well leaving the country! He's not here alone too much and he has my PC/laptop/his guitar and my piano to keep him amused. He's a musical genius...I think he should go into teaching but he's not sure!!! I have found out that once I can work I potentially have a photographic job over there....it's the same guy who offered me a job when I was over in summer but obviously there were visa complications with that too which prevented it. Apparently he's impressed with my work! He understands the visa stuff and the problems me and nick have as his daughter is married to a man from India and they had to do all of this!

I remember the first time Nick told me he had to go offline and go into basement because of tornados...I was like..."what as in toto I don't think we're in kansas anymore!?" his whole family still laugh at this comment. I mean here on west coast scotland we get hammered with all sorts (blizzards and hailstorms in July, a 95F summer 2006, 80-90MPH winds....still waiting for summer 2007) we don't seem to have distinct seasons anymore...infact you can often get all 4 in one day....you can even get torrential bursts of rain whilst the sun is shining...fantastic rainbows!

So far I've been in/passed thru....6 states...not too bad for someone thats only been twice! This time next year hopefully I'll be sitting beside a big aircon unit with some iced tea!!

Yeah - I've put a dress code in with the invitations for Jeremy's family (I don't trust them!) and shoe advice in with the invites for my side! Along with the map, directions, parking costs etc I have created a mini wedding guide for each invitee!!! Doubt it would be frozen in Feb - it is AZ after all but that would be rather cool - an ice skating bride! I'd look like one of those ballet dancers you get in kids' jewellery boxes!

Silver would be nice. I'm not much of a gold person either - engagement ring is white gold so our wedding bands will be white gold too - sound similar to yours - matching although Jeremy's will be a bit wider smile.gif Haven't bought them yet though - I've been to his aunt's house and there is no way they would survive without getting lost, covered in grime, corroded beyond repair or eaten by dogs!!! I told him maybe we should wait a little longer wink.gif


I've been warned about NE weather.....FREEZING in winter (same as scotland then).....ROASTING in summer (not good as I shut down at 75F max and it goes over 100F)......then tornados inbetween (not looking forward to my first tornado experience)

AZ for you....isn't that desert???.......oooooo ####### that.....my scottish blood couldn't cope.....I don't do heat well!

Tucson chick and jeraly...your dresses look great. I've seen a few possibilities but still unsure what to go for. I can't wear white as I'm really pale (scottish blue skin) but with natural almost black hair so if I wear white I look like a ghost with hair. I can't tan....the sun either reflects off me blinding everyone in the near vacinity or I go scarlett.

The commonwealth angle I mentioned before is that if a UK citizen files to immigrate to canada there is a separate fast track way due to old commonwealth ties.

I really really want to be able to head over in march...I'll be happy with that. Of course I'd love sooner!

Oh and I have found something out....the csc servers update info in blocks. One of the updates is around 10am GMT. It is when the bulk of updates are done as no one in there working as it's very very am at CSC. I assume VSC do the same but times will be different.

I found out from a colleague who used to be an immigration lawyer, now an international corporate lawyer. She got it from their IT guys when discussing a problem with their systems. Makes sense, alot of large businesses do it. Systems collate information in real-time but only update external servers (which is what we'll be accessing) 2 or 3 times a day with a BIG update in the wee small hours so it doesn't take up processor time when people are working. I was telling her about yesterday....I checked my status at 8am, no change then I "had a feeling" and checked at 11am and BINGO! This confused me as I knew they wouldn't have been working.

I've had a day of celebrating and chilling out. Now back to stressing out again.....I-134, that should say it all! Most of you know our situation. Nick here and has been almost 6 month living off me. He has never filed taxes as never been required to. We do have a co-sponsor lined up and I have around $12-13,000 to take with me (apparently london embassy will also look at beneficaries finances). So stressed about the financial side of things.

don't really have cheerleaders here in scotland. I did do dancing though and had some pom poms. Big blue ones...still got them somewhere!!!! other than that I played basketball as I was always one of the tallest girls in school. I'm 5'10 now and have been since I was 16.

Thanks so much for all the congratulations. I know there is still interview and stuff to worry about but OMG it is such a weight lifted. We just wentout to celebrate to "the fox and hounds" THE best bar in the world. It's a traditional scottish village country bar with a lounge with log fires and it's own brewery. The restaurant only serves food that can be sourced within 20miles and they can tell you the name and age of the cow your steak from. Nick had a huge slab of aberdeen angus and I had phesant. I've been going there years with my family and the master brewery/owner asked why we were in on a Thursday and gave us our meal for free to celebrate.

Got email this morning whilst I was in work. I squealed and my manager thought I'd died or something. Was approved yesterday. My estimated adjudication date was 5th December so there is hope for us all.

July filers are time is well and truely here!!!!
