Direct quote from Nich-Nick (Though I have no idea how to quote from one thread and paste that quote into another, so I will use cut-paste!)

"This is the stats page where you can see how many VJ approvals were logged each week for the past year. http://cse.ssl.berke...data/stats.aspx

The links at the top of that page are for the two service centers. It updates often and you can know pretty quickly who got approved without seeing them post a "we got approved" in the forum. If you scroll down, it has the people waiting in order of filing. It's not a huge deal, but sorta nice when you see your name progressing up the list from a super high number, down into the lower numbers. It's just some visual reinforcement that you are indeed getting closer to the finish line."

Nick is coming Sept 30 and will have a house to come to. Hurricane Ike passed right over us. Came back home today. no power yet. no stores. no gas. we have curfew 7pm, but i was about 50 min late tonight. just hooked laptop up to phone line which works. typing by candlelight. dialup sucks. Isuck using laptop in the dark. not used to keyboard or touchpad. House is fine. many trr limbs in yard and some shingles off roof. no leaks. it is cooler now...maybe mid 80s. i am sweating buckets with no ac. 2 million without power but they are working on it. lost power in houston where i evacuated just after midnight friday night. both daughters had trees fall. one blocked the street. the othrt snapped off in middle and fell on neighbors car. oops. we cooked out on grill after hurricane saturday night and drank wine. actually started on the champagne sat morning while it was still chilled since no refrigeration. then the beer that was going to get hot. i drank barely chilled diet coke and pretended to be back in uk. hahaha. things are ok here good.gif

Hi Nich

I thought I had already posted a reply to your post ... but it seems to have gotten lost in the "wild blue yonder"!

I've been checking the board every day to see if there was any word from you as I had been thinking about you and all you were having to deal with over there. I am so glad to hear that you got through it ok.

Steve was telling me that they have been getting heavy rain in Iowa. Well he wasn't telling me, he was moaning about it! When I told him what YOU were going through down in Texas. he felt extremely sheepish for moaning lol!

At least it won't be long until Nick is with you ... kicking.gif <<< that's the Highland Fling by the way!!

Take care and good luck with the clean up ...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFiling in March
Hi All

I am so happy for eveyone .... lots of good news since I last logged in!!

I just popped in to give you all an update - I finally was able to file for my divorce, they said it should be final in six weeks. good.gif

Steve's visit to Scotland went really well - he had a great time. I did too, but was slightly worried throughout about being refused entry to the USA on our journey back because of all my visits this year sad.gif

We also spent a miserable time waiting for delayed flights to be rearranged and after an unscheduled overnight stay in Frankfurt were told we would be flying into Dallas instead of Chicago. I was petrified ... I've flown into the USA 10 times now and 80% of the time have flown into Chicago. The new airport didn't help my stress level any!

We landed in Dallas to 103 degrees heat .... tired, scared and cranky ... but I have been told on here .. numerous times .. to just tell the truth .. so that's exactly what I did ...

I had come to the airport with bare information on ties to my own country. I had a letter from my college saying I was a student and was expected back at the beginning of September. I also had my last three bank statements listing direct debits for my rent, car insurance, mobile phone and gas maintenance.

The officer asked why I was visiting America ... and I told him that my fiance had been visiting me in Scotland for a week and that I had come back over with him for a five week vacation. He asked if my fiance was a USC and where my fiance was and I said YES and pointed him out to the officer - Steve was standing just at the other end of the lane I was going through ... smile.gif

He asked if I was employed - I told him NO and that I was a student.

He asked if I had a student ID - I told him NO but that I had a letter from the college if he'd like to see that - he declined.

He asked if I had a return ticket and how long I was expecting to stay - I said YES to the ticket and a month to the other. He asked to see the ticket.

He asked where I would be staying - I gave him Steve's address

He asked how long my visits in January and March had been - I told him seven weeks and 90 days - at this point he frowned and I thought .. OH NOOOOOOO!!! sad.gif

He then asked when we intended to get married - I told him that my divorce would be finalised by the end of September and that Steve would be filing an I-129F application as soon as possible after that.

He finally said to me ... "you have a LOT of stamps on your passport" - and I said .. "well that's what happens when you fall in love with an american" ... and gave him a little smile .... innocent.gif

He typed some stuff into his computer .... looked at me several times ... glanced at Steve again .... then asked me to look into the camera ... put my fingers on the scanner .... and stamped my passport!! Wooo Hoooo!!!! biggrin.gif

He did give me a finally warning though ... any other visit within the next six months WITHOUT a pending fiance visa application would most likely be refused. I told him I had no intention of visiting again until the K1 was approved - which is the truth because the whole thing was so totally stressful and I don't want to have to do that again no0pb.gif Steve and I had already discussed it and he has said that he will visit ME .. approximately half way through the process - so that will help a lot ....

So ... I am now sitting here in Iowa trying to organise everything ... I am totally overwhelmed with the whole thing - it's kinda scary now that I'm finally having to pull all the documents, pics, evidence etc together!

I will be asking lots of questions over the next four weeks .. I hope that's ok? I've been through the guides until I'm blue in the face, but I'm sure I'll still have lots to ask ...

Take care all ... talk to you soon no doubt! biggrin.gif

To everyone else ... good luck .. I hope you get what you hope for soon ....

I have 11 days until I can apply for my divorce, just over two months and we will hopefully be able to start our journey too!! It's been a long time in coming - geez .. I hope it's a fast journey ... jest.gif

Its both comforting and depressing getting so close to my "assumed" adjudication window of dates sad.gif

jzoom6- I totally agree... It's depressing because everyday when I check the dates they keep moving out by a day or so, so it feels like you're never really getting any closer. It always seems like "next week" it will come, but now it's already the end of June. crying.gif

Good Morning All ...

I just wanted to extend heart felt thanks to everyone who has posted here. My fiance and I will be filing sometime in late September, early October and it has been so helpful to read everyone's posts. It has been riveting reading at times. While reading the posts, I laughed .. I cried .. but most of all I thought - Oh heck, that's going to be us in 3 months time!!! Can't wait .. kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

I think I have a pretty good idea of what we will go through now yes.gif I am sure that I have gained something from everyone's experiences - I know that I will certainly be able to deal with the whole procedure better, because I've been watching all you lovely people going through it already! Sometimes it's the fear of the unknown that's the scariest part ... and knowing now what may or may not happen really helps - thanks!!

To all who have received their NA02 - congrats!! And to all those still waiting ... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you - hope it comes through soon ...

Thanks again

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsdoes the I134 still need to be notarized?
Hi, i see that in the past the I-134 document would need to be notarized. however when you go the the new form thats available from the USCIS.gov website, it gives no space for a notary and it doesn`t say anything about it needing to be notarized anymore. has this changed or will i need to have this document notarized?
it says in the instructions for the I-134 under "execution of affidavit" it states, "for this reason, it is not necessary to sign form I-134 before a notary, nor to have your signature notarzied after you have signed it."
please could anyone help if you know as i am needing to know as soon as possible.
i`d especially like to know if anyone has gotten through the interview without it.
thanks very much
Paul

Thank you to everyone for the congratulations, it is a very ncie feeling to be at this stage.
i just wanted to let everyone know a few things, just to maybe give everyone a bit of hope.
first thing is that we got the NOA2 without any touches at all, never heard a single thing from the time of our NOA1, it just went from us getting the letter of NOA1 and then nothing at all until the e-mail for the NOA2, so if you haven`t had any touches, do not worry, it seems that that may actually be a good thing.
the next thing is that i wouldn`t worry too much about that list that we have, i was sitting at number 107 when i got my acceptance, a friend of mine was at number 37 and i got mine before him, so i guess just keep hoping that yours will come up soon, but don`t get too down about the number you are if you are high up on the list.
i really hope to be writing a lot of congratulations on here soon for you all, lets hope things go fast and smoothly and we all get an excellent christmas present from the USCIS.
take care everyone
all the best
Paul

Hey everyone, i just got my NOA2 by e-mail, for the 12th of december. i got it with no touches from my date of NOA1, its been 116 days, i guess i have been really lucky with this. i actually feel kinda bad writing this because i know so many of you filed before me and still haven`t heard anything, but hopefully this will signify the start of the august accepts from CSC coming in. i`ll keep you all posted.

Can somebody be so kind and let me know if the Police Certificate which will be require for the interview, is plain as it comes from the federal police office, just translated to English or has also to be APOSTILLE? unsure.gif

Apostille
Refer to the legalization of a document for international use under the terms of the 1961 Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents. Notarized and then certified with a conformant apostille. blink.gif

here in UK it's just as it comes. Your best bet is to check with your embassy itself as they all same to vary slightly with regards.

Even with the horribly long wait for the NOA2 the timeframe is still only a little over 7 months. Not too horribly bad and very exciting this is almost over and I will have my wife to be with me soon.

I do not know about you Tim but I sure would not want to do this again. Once is enough for my life time.

Good luck!!

I only intend on doing this once but then again I only intend on getting married once!!!! hahaha! I have to admit the wait hasn't been as bad as I thought but I'm one of the lucky ones (and I know I'm very lucky). Nick has been here with me in wscotland for most of it. I'm a july filer (well june with a july NOA1) and it is so good to CSC returning to work. The sooner they get you all sorted the sooner they get to may and june and eventually in the ever so distant future they may get to July......some say every day is a day closer....well it doesn't seem that way when the estimated approval date moves away faster than the days pass :crying: .

 Congrats to all those approved so far and praying for a speedy approval for the rest of you........CSC really needs someone there thats been through all this standing over them cracking a whip!!!!

I was talking to Nick last night as we were talking about what it will be like when I actually get there. I think it will only really sink in when after 3 weeks (the longest I stayed there for holiday) have past I'll realise I'm not going home. Then it's all the stuff like sorting out driving license and learning way round town, getting used to the money and another big one...the price on the shelf is not what you pay as tax added when you checkout.
