I'm lost on all you guys...Kat and Allie moved up and MARM got their date essentially. That works!

Laura~~~ DOS can't do anything but tell you for a free call what has been received, scheduled, mailed, or printed (as in the visa). They just see the things London puts into the computer and they are nice people to talk to. Very helpful people. I doubt they have any info particular to the specific forms and if they were satisfactory...but maybe if London noted that they weren't it would show up.

Hi All ....

I guess that's any hope of a May interview out of the window then - I didn't realise that all next month's interviews had been allocated already. sad.gif

Is it too early to be worried? I keep seeing you lovely people getting interview dates before me ... and am beginning to wonder if there is a problem with the docs I sent in. I suppose everyone's circumstances are different and that all applications take different amounts of time ...

Oh well ... no chance of our mid-June wedding now .... sad.gif

Have a great week everyone ...

Am I reading your timeline correctly KAT&Allie? London received your docs on 21st of April and you received Packet 4 with your interview date on the 24th of April?

Sort of blush.gif. This morning I phoned that expensive line at London Embassy and he told me that the appointment letter has been sent. Since I'm at work and my postman doesn't arrive till 1:30 pm I have no idea whether the letter will be there on not when I get home. Packet 3 took 4 days to arrive. So no, I haven't received packet 4 as yet wink.gif. And yes, I've sent it on 20th April and they received it on 21th April. Sorry you've been waiting so long. Have you thought to contact your congressman about it?

Nah ... it's only been four weeks ... and some have waited much longer than I have ... I just need to learn to be patient. Maybe your pack was processed faster because you put a wedding date on the form?

I'll just keep calling DOS ..... maybe they'll give me an interview date if I annoy them enough lol ...

Good luck ... hope the postie brings your letter today!

Thanks for all the good wishes guys!

My taxi will be here for the airport in a few hours, then it's just a quick flight, train ride, tube journey and sprint to the embassy. I've "walked" my route on Google Streetview so I know where I'm going, checked in for my flight, double-quadruple-triple checked the contents of my folder, shaved, picked out my clothes, changed my money to English money, removed all electronic items from my coat, got a book to read, and I'm trying not to be nervous.

I keep telling myself whatever happens we'll get through it; I guess tomorrow we'll find out how complicated life is going to get!

Sending you loads of luck Marty J ... I am soooooo jealous - I wish I was doing what you're doing right now ...

Ummm apart from the shaving part ... I'm a lady ... laughing.gif

Remember, we want to know all about it when you get your approval!!!

that was possibly my best weapon in this process. the more energy you spend worrying, the more you open yourself up to errors.

seriously, things will be fine.

Thanks you for that .... and I am trying ....

I am so organised for this interview mr and mrs. The documents are copied, compiled and in their folder - ready to go to London with me. I am usually such a patient, laid back kind of person, but this whole process is really getting to me. I want to get the hotel, flights and medical all booked, but I'm having to sit on my hands and wait ...

AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!! Oh my, I feel better after that ... blink.gif

I know everyone else is in the same boat, I know we're all playing the waiting game together .... I'm sorry for having a moan .... headbonk.gif

I phoned the Dept of State this morning .. I was told by a sweet lady that they haven't "qualified" my docs - so no interview yet. The docs arrived in London on the Thursday 26th of March and were showing on the system when I started stalking the visa staff on Tuesday 7th of April ... laughing.gif

I used Scottish bank notes to pay for my visa. smile.gif Was not intentional, I just took money out from my local bank the day before I traveled down to London. It didn't occur to me until I got into the embassy and was sitting waiting bored, that I only had Scottish notes (I lived in England, but about 2 miles from the Scottish border). I would have used my card if they were not accepted, but the woman took the money without any issue.

I've had a few issues attempting to use them in the south in the past. You will find small independent business wont take them. But the big companies don't usually have a problem. I used the rest of my Scottish notes on embassy day, at the Starbucks where I broke the news to my now wife, that my visa was approved. smile.gif

Anyways, on with the show..

Hmmm ... I think I'll just pay with my visa debit card - makes things a whole lot easier for me! I'll try and have English notes for the courier though - is it correct that you can only pay them in cash?

Congrats Marm .... glad the passport will be through in time ... and congrats to you too Mr and Mrs - wishing a safe arrival for your visa!!

I wonder if the nice man at the DOS will have some good news for me today? Ha Ha ... I live in hope ... laughing.gif

Good Morning .... Hope you all had a lovely Easter!!

I've just been catching up on the posts .... I sent the packet 3 back to London on the 24th of March. When I called DOS, they said it arrived on the 26th - which was my birthday!!

The people I speak to at the DOS are lovely, but it's always the same story. I haven't "qualified" yet and no interview date on my file. I always feel a bit down after hearing that. I have tried not to phone EVERY day ... but there is a very strong force that PULLS me towards my mobile phone as soon as I know that the DOS are open .... rofl.gif

Oh well, I guess one of these days they will say ... "Oh yes!!" "Your appointment is showing ......"

biggrin.gif Don't worry. You'll get your interview date soon! Try calling back at the end of the week (and don't feel down, they will get to you).

Also biggrin.gif happy belated birthday! My 22nd was actually yesterday which solidly places me over the threshold of adulthood (as deemed by the US). I hope you had an awesome day star_smile.gif.

Thank you Magpie ... and happy birthday to you too .... I am more than double your age, but you're making more sense than I am at the moment lol ....

I will call today ... and then leave it until Friday. I mean, it's not as if I WON'T get an interview date .... it's just the waiting that gets to me ....

Take care!

Hi everyone, sorry if this is slightly off topic, i just have a few questions to ask about the packet 3. Im trying to prepare all my stuff at the moment, and Im just wondering what sheets I do and don't sign? I know that I definitely don't sign the DS-156 (and duplicate), but what about the DS-156K? And with the DS-230, do I send in both part 1 and part 2, but only sign part 1? Sorry about all these annoying questions, I wish it was more clear for us! Thanks in advance, Karen x

Hi everyone! I was just wondering if someone could help me.Trev and I got our NOA2 last friday, thankfully! We didn't have to wait too long which we are so thankful for! Now I'm not quite sure what to do in regards to the NVC-how is it possible to find out when it arrived and left NVC? I can't work out how you can do this, and also how do you find out when your case reaches the london embassy? Thank you in advance!!!

I love corsetting. I have 6 corsets ranging from 24" to 22". They are all tightlacing steel boned corsets. I have been corsetting/waist training for 4 years and can now take 6" off my natural waist with a corset. They are not uncomfortable if you ease into it gently and get proper style, size and shape for yourself. If you find it uncomfortable either corset wrong or you going too fast.

I think the lack of appitite caused by the stress is the reason for my weightloss...that and the fact my mother on a diet so either diet food or no food.

At the end, he was told that they all enjoyed reading it, it was a very mature and original piece of work, and he was being heartily recommended to receive his doctorate. I'm going over with around £9K and not much else. We do however through a friend of Nick's family have an appartment to live in rent free and although it is furnished we can gradually fill it with our stuff and aquire things we will need when we do get our own place. My parents have talked us into living in the appartment until mid 2009 then they have a couple of policies due to pay out and we will get around £15K then to maybe start hunting for our own place. We are very much starting at the bottom but at least we starting with something. I know it could be worse.
