ooo people getting wee bit tetchy on here. I'm sure ischia meant well in the original post and Quinn I'm sure you too have seen/have knowledge of suffering, but hasn't everyone in this world to some extent. What may be insignificant in real terms of world suffering doesn't feel any less real to the person having to deal with it. Isn't this supposed to be a support forum!?!?!

I can say I'm with the concerned crowd too. It just takes so long and the light at the end of the tunnel getting further and further away. I'm kinda hoping that now the employment based visas have reached their cap that it will speed up processing of other visa types.

It's all the uncertainty surrounding every issue that gets me too. I could actually cope waiting 6-7months if I knew for sure at the end of the wait I was definatly going to have my visa in my hand.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsReality Check
I'm sorry if I'm wrong and people feel free to correct me.

I remember reading somewhere when we were doing our initial checking into progress that there was an instance not too long ago where waiting times were overly excessive and USCIS were granted extra money to plough into sorting it all out, which they did and waiting times fell right down. I'm hoping that the fee increases will soon start showing in USCIS's profit margins and they'll have the same effect....either that or as what usually happens in a profit driven business (USCIS is a business and all businesses driven by profit) the extra cash will buy the high level managers a nice new shiney Lexus.

I know in a few months time I probably (hopefully) be sitting looking back thinking.....actually it wasn't all that bad. Just at this moment in time it really does feel that bad. Here and now it's frustrating, emotionally it hurts and financially it's draining..........but in the bigger picture of the life hopefully ahead it's an inconvience on the way to happiness! We'll probably all face harder challenges than this if we haven't already and come out the otherside!

still doesn't stop me being a frustrated irritable grump just now though tongue_ss.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsReality Check
My name is Debz and I am USCIS basher.
But it is nothing against the everyday workers...god knows we have all been bottom of the ladder. With me it's simple frustration, when I started all this I thought...mmm process averaging 6 months....We'll organise our wedding giving them 10months (well 9months 3 weeks). Now it looks like that isn't going to be possible even though most things booked. I know some people here going to say that was stupid but what can we do, we want to be together and we want the wedding we've dreamed of. The only thing we have done 'wrong' is fall for someone on opposite side of atlantic.
Thankfully we have back up plan, go there and have 'wedding' but not sign register so it's more of a promise ceremony than an actual wedding. Then I'll come back to scotland and wait rest of visa application out then go back and sign papers in courthouse. Biggest drawbacks of back-up plan..... firstly, convincing POE officer that I intend leaving US again. secondly, additional cost of an extra return flight.

Anyway...I agree that it is the SYSTEM that is flawed, common sense is all thats needed to envisage a dramatic increase in applications before a HUGE fee increase. Procedures and facilities should have been put in place prior to prevent delays rather than as a short sighted damage control 'we better at least look like we trying' excercise.

SEE YOU GOT ME ALL WORKED UP AND I'M VENTING AGAIN!!! *tries to think of calm blue oceans*

Lol - I think I would die up there! My body thermostat is broken - I walked a couple miles to a pub near my friend's yesterday and while I was walking I was wearing a t-shirt in below freezing and my hands were toasty and warm. Sitting in the pub next to the radiator though and I am shivering with cold hands!!! I think I have circulation issues...

don't know how I'll cope with the nebraskan summers...witnessed 3 weeks of late june-early july and nearly died! if thermometer goes over 25C I die!!!!!!!!! I'm like a plant...my scottish roots need lots of water and my foliage scorches (i don't tan I burn) in the heat.

It's about 4c here - warmed up a bit as it is drizzling with rain. Scraped car twice last night though - when I got home from the pub and when I got up this morning smile.gif

I think the scots have a totally different temperature threshold though....we need it here on west coast middle of no-where land. Where I live...the village has a higher population of farm animals than it does people! If it's above 0C it's warm! and if the rain goes straight down instead of sideways it's summer!

If you have been recently approved for the November 2007...let's keep in touch. I am hearing that we have to wait about a month or more for our case to be forwarded to the consulates. That can't be because, our NOA2 will be approaching their expiration dates.....

My case was approved on November 5

Our case was approved on Nov. 6. I had a touch on 11/7 and 11/11. I just called CSC and they told me a supervisor had it. They didn't know why. I've already received the hard copy. It's sitting on some fools desk at CSC. The guy was very nice and emailed the supervisor to find out why he had our petition. The officer told me sometimes a supervisor reviews the work of "officers-in-training". GREAT!!!! Lucky me!!!! He said if he heard back by email today from the supervisor that he would call me. We'll see....... The patient one, Alane & Ramzis luv.gif luv.gif

OMG ramzis...it's really not been an easy run for you. I can't believe you have held your patience this long. You really are an inspiration.

where I live we have 1 bus every 30mins IF it can be bothered to turn up and it often doesn't. No trains. It costs £5.50 for a return ticket to Glasgow (30mins down motorway). That bus serves 3 villages and is usually standing room only by the time it reaches us. I admit this is still better than Grand Island NE where I'm heading to but they not being taxed to the eyeballs for the "privilage" of owning a car. I drive at 6.30am mon-fri for 5-10min to the train station in a town between here and glasgow and pay £75 a month for a ticket. More hassel but still cheaper and more comfortable than bus.

as a wee extra when I was a student a bunch of us went out at halloween dressed as london tube stations....I was a yellow alien (canary wharf)

and the gasoline is a pretty bad example: as Bobalouie pointed out, it's not actually a very high price at all (come over here to the UK and we'll show you some high petrol prices wink.gif ),

sorry to diverge totally but TELL ME ABOUT IT!!!!! filled my car up today and nearly fell over when I saw the price (£1.02 a litre). I've just got a wee mazda sporty number....not exactly a gas guzzler!!! I'd not be able to run the thing if I did!!!!
