yeah I had that in originally but took it out as nvc just a transit phase. Easy enough to add in it just means it's another piece of info we'll need to chase up. Was trying to limit to important milestones.

oooooo you must be climbing the walls not being able to check! I know i would be. Now I know my case was entered into NVC system couple of days ago after wednesday I'll be sprinting to my mailbox when I get back from work hunting through all the junk mail for my packet 3....just hope I don't shred it by accident with usual rubbish that lands in the mailbox blink.gif

oh and nick made it back fine along with his luggage. He called me at 3am GMT. Was so glad to hear from him, even at that time. He did have to literally get security to help him skip some queues and sprint to his last flight with my laptop on his back. He said when he was waiting to go through security he called a wee woman over and apparently she was great, he showed her that he only had 10mins to get to gate and she grabbed him out the queue pushed him to the front of the first class line and then told everyone to move so he could get through. Then he just ran for it and made it just as they were boarding the last 2 people!

Are you me!??! I used to do the same but every now and then in my life I have these revelations where my whole outlook on life changes and a penny seems to drop into place - I can't pinpoint when I stopped worrying so much but I swear I have never been this mellow in my whole life!!!


I am a bona fide control freak. I hate uncertainty, I hate things out of my control, I am obsessivly organised. I'm the kind of person that worries about having nothing to worry about as I worry I'm missing something.

Anyways...stress got to me so I called american airlines...gave them locator number and nicks name and they confirmed he handed over boarding pass so therefore boarded. Now whether his bags did or not is another matter......and if the plane can actually land at omaha due to the snow. But at least I know he is bound for omaha and his mammy is there to meet him. OK I know he's old enough to look after himself but I know how stressed he was before. We joke that we are actually better travelling seperate as he's a nervous traveller in general and I'm scared of flying (yeah great for an LDR) so we just make each other worse. I mean I'm so scared I get physically sick a couple of days before.....this is coming from a woman who has done 14 parachute jumps!!!!


oh and speaking of physically sick....it's not just the stress keeping me quiet..........I feel shocking due to jags

If he's flying to O'Hare I wouldn't be surprised if his flight was delayed or canceled or missed. It is THE worst airport in the US, IMHO. I loathe it with every fibre of my being. This past July I spent nearly 10 hours there waiting for a flight, cos mine kept getting canceled, the delayed, then cancel, then delayed....

thing is he is a very nervous traveller. He'll be in a panic. At least he'll have cleared immigration in dublin so it's pick up bag...drop it off at next point, go through security and sprint to gate......might make it but I doubt it

Debz - Try calling US State Department: (202) 663-1225 - press 1, then 0. They are much easier to get through to, and more helpful. I talked to them yesterday and the guy gave me Griff's LND# and said it should ship out of NVC today or tomorrow.

Sorry about Nick having to go. The only positive thing I can say is that at least you know the separation won't be forever - we are finally on the last stretch of road!

watching the flight tracker as he's not got long in chicago before his flight to omaha. He's on AA093 dublin to chicago.

He's calling when he gets home.....(about 3am uk time) He's going to give me a report on what dublin POE is like. If it's ok I'm going to go that way when I go over. Means you can fly over atlantic stress free as immigration all cleared before you get on plane.

looks like I missed quite a bit. Just back from leaving Nick at the airport, feeling decidedly crappy! crying.gif After so long together it just feels so empty and quiet. Hopefully we'll be reunited in March over there with visa in hand.

He left me some really nice presents. A braclet and a photo frame with a picture of us together in it. Oh well...off to tidy things up a tad then getting vaccinations later this morning...joy!
