hi guys!

(I guess i better adress this one to: Hi girls!)

besides all the annoyance bc of the delays and backlogs and everything, i tried on my wedding dress again last night.
and what should i say..... it looks different. to be more precise: i look like a porn-queen. i blame it on the bridal-engagement-hormones that i bought it.
i spent about an hour crying and will see the alteration-lady tonite, to see if anything can be done about it.

I had a wee wobble about my dress...I've lost weight and definatly going to need it adjusted. My dress is rich ivory and my mum's incredible 10ft veil that was always planned for me to wear along with my great great grans tiara is as white as white gets...we tea dyed it with the help of a pro and it matched fine...now the colour seems to have...how can I put it...errm...developed?!?...and now it's way to dark...might have to settle and buy a new one unless we can work out how to take the colour down a bit or bleach it (arrrg) and re-dye it somehow without destroying it.

Hey Debz - what does your wedding insurance say that covers you for not being able to get out there or whatever? Jeremy can't seem to find any... ohmy.gif

"wedding cancellation due to third party influences outwith couples control" I asked the company if that included immigration and they responded with..... are drastic changes in estimated timescales outwith your control?!?....well then yes it's covered

Alyson, thats so sweet. I'm quite lucky, my parents paying a large part of our wedding bill. Me and Nicks mum doing most the organising...he just says tell him what to wear, where to stand and what to say. When I ask his opinion on something he just says yes dear! Sometimes I wish he would put in more opinions but the way he puts it...he cares more about being married, not just getting married.

I must admit I've got serious downers just now. The end is no-where in sight. Trying to work out if there is any bits and pieces me and nick can do for next stage whilst he's still here. Only part really is up-to-date letter of intent and ongoing relationship stuff. Can't do i-134 as info will probably change once he goes back and gets work, plus there is the notarising bit and co-sponsor stuff. I just feel we should be doing something!

So I don't know if anyone has noticed their dates, but my approval date slid back several dates.

I'm back to November 30th now! happy.gif

I had been as high up as December 10th.

Mine hasn't changed - am on Dec 27 still... I started at Nov 25th... *sigh*

We're now contemplating the necessity to postpone the wedding if need be and are trying to find the money to reimburse my entire family for plane tickets etc - I only wish we knew more about the process before they booked everything *sigh*

i'm on 5th dec.
Wedding still set for 31st may. I really don't want to move it again...I hope the need to doesn't arise....I really will break down if it does. That will have been almost 11 months since filing!!!

I've been lied to by the internet again?!?!? Oh well. Nicks family still think it's hilarious that my first response to them telling me about tornados was "what as in toto i don't think we are in kansas anymore?"

At least in may in scotland the worst that can happen is torrential rain, gale force winds and flash floods. Over there I could be the incredible flying bride, thank god I don't have a big skirt!

Did you see where a Sept. filer was approved through VSC, with no expedite request? Good for them but there goes the theory that they are processed in order received! ranting33va.gif

it's possibly a training file! I heard they sometimes pull some out of order to train new adjudicators. Not entirly fair but really lucky. Anyway on the brightside....if this is the case at least we know more people joining the ranks

But why would they do that? A person learning the job could just as easily learn from the next file that's in line. It's not like they need to randomly pull from the pile. And it goes against them saying that they process applications in order.
Meh, I just think they are f*ckers. ranting33va.gif

since when has anything involving anything attached to any government in any country been entirly fair, moral and ethical.

I hate our country's goverment they are destroying the UK and I'm looking forward to move to the US so I can moan about theirs too!

Just found out at the weekend my brother may be heading to south africa for a year to stay with his OH's mammy. My parents are wondering where they can go!

and your successes seem too few,
Remember the mighty oak tree,
Was once a wee nut like you"

regarding car...mine is only 5 years old, needed 2 new tyres, anti roll bars needed new links and rear suspension needed tweking. Tyres were more expensive than roll bar fix....thats what I get for having fancy rims and low profile tyres (you'd think they would be cheaper as less rubber!) Just think...no MOT's in US. My tax cost £112 for 6 months but again thats what I get for having a 2litre sports engine!

so do I...I've already moved wedding once. I'm so stressed out with this whole process. Wondering if we'll get an RFE (on top of evidence we also sent uk style photos) and then the interview. We have problems with the support stuff. Nick has been here and before that he was studying and didn't work so has never filed taxes as never needed to. We are hopefully going to get a notarised letter stating that he has never filed due never being required to. We have a good co-sponsor lined up who can provide all documentation. It's just I know recently london been cracking down on getting tax returns. I just have this feeling we going to be declined and I can't shake it off! To say it makes me depressed is an understatement. Nick going to get whatever work he can once he goes back on dec 6th so at least we'll be able to show he does have an income.

why you expecing RFE for photos? I'm expecting one due to not enough evidence. We didn't know we needed boarding passes so never kept any. All we sent was screen dump of my inbox showing emails (nick lost all of his when he had a problem with his email) , 4 photos taken at different times and locations (2 here and 2 there), scan of passport stamps, flight itineries, ticket purchase reciepts and a couple of emails.

And only three times drunk for a 15 year old?! Wow - you should come to Bristol wink.gif

passed through bristol once...got a great bottle of zinfandel from tesco around there! smile.gif

when I compare myself to my friends who I go clubbing with...they get drunk and i usually drive. If it's a full evening thing with food I'll have a glass of red with grub or a pint of guinness as I'm eating and I know it will be at least 5 hours until I need to drive home. Thing is whilst I'm sober I still have a great night like my mates....thing is I remember all of it so I can remind them of the bits they don't! If I'm feeling nasty maybe even throw in the odd exaggeration!!!!

Oh and i think a year from now as many of us as possibly should arrange to meet up for a long weekend in vegas or something. All you UK-ers, I think we should try get a central point before we leave and meet up for some tipples! Would be so good if we got same interview dates!

OK here's a question to the wine drinking americans...how much does a semi decent bottle of californian zinfandel cost over there (if it's red it it's not real zinfandel, should be a definate dark purple)

Oh, that can be such a matter of opinion! If I said $10-15, a real wine snob would probably laugh in my face. What I would do is look up the one you have at an American store's website and see if you can find it and what it costs. Try these:
http://astorwines.com/Default.aspx?c=1
http://www.worldmark...00185/index.cat
Or try searching for the vineyard's own webpage and see if they have an online store.
I'm sure that was more info than you really wanted. whistling.gif

I think over here I'm counted as a semi wine snob. I never expect to pay less than a minimum of £6 ($12) for decent zinfandel. Thanks for the info. Greatfully received!!!!!! smile.gif I like my friday night zinfandel, occasionally I'll have a shiraz! (or a bordeaux if my dad opening a bottle, he introduced me to friday night wine when I was 14 when he put a small splash into soda water for me) I got brought up from an early age to respect alcohol and I'm 26 and only actually been 'drunk' 3 times! (in scotland thats the usual count for a 15 year old). I only drink decent wine, single malt scottish whisky, ale (don't drink beer you can see through) and bison grass vodka.....tried tequilla once...makes me violently sneeze so never drank it again!!!

We are really in a panic regarding our wedding date and the fact the latest I could get there is 16th april due to marriage licence. We are looking into moving it into june/july. We may have to consider a different venue. Instead of the 1888 wee church in the museum it would be the one Nicks family go to. It's really nice as far as back up venues go. Has a lovely part with lots of stained glass windows which lights up all multicoloured when sun shines and it has a wee garden bit. It's not our first choice (thats the museum) but it's still good.

Can't believe it's coming to this and I thought we were safe with 3rd may.

The petition sent dates range from 4/11 to 5/21 with no RFE's.

6 to start off the week. Not so bad. smile.gif

Basically planning same as Jeraly....go over, have 'vow ceremony' then come back....law firm I work for willing to write me letter saying I'm coming back to work so hopefully that would help immigration, plus will go through dublin which is apparently easier. Once I get K1 then travel back again and go to courthouse to sign paper. Although that will be our 'wedding' in our minds it will be the ceremony. Sucks that we have this added stress.

They say getting married, changing jobs and moving house are the top 3 streesful things a person can go through, half of us on here (the other half are already there and working) are doing all 3 at once plus with the added stress of dealing with the disorganised and understaffed hell that is USCIS (I really pity their ground floor workers, they probably the only ones that truely EARN their paycheck!)
