Wow you got yours so fast.  Congratulations ! I got our approval too last week.  Next step is to wait for that Manila number then follow this guide by Hank : http://visaconnectio...ilippines.com/#  .  Now for that MNL number I suggest you start calling the National Visa Center as per that link a gave you.  Personally I will give them two weeks from the time we get the hard copy of the NOA2 before I start bugging them devil.gif    Good luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAlien Registration Number

This is something that simply happens, yes it means someone touched your file, but it is not indicative of a soon-to-be approval or denial. As you can see in my signature, mine was changed Sept. 4 and 6 weeks later I got the NOA2 email.

I got a notification of alien registration changed 8.29.30. About a month later RFE was sent.  At least my file is being looked at :) .  Im waiting patiently for TSC to give its decision.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAlien Registration Number

I was emailed the same message too yesterday.  I filed the I-129F on July 22, 2013.  Notice date on NOA1 hardcopy is July 26.  I hope this is a good sign smile.png . Btw even though VSC should be the one processing the papers, it went to TSC .  The receipt number start with SRC.  Also I noticed on my timeline on VJ that processing time has drastically reduced from December to October ! I just dont know how closely accurate it is.. but Im hoping for the best dancin5hr.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI129F approved or not?

I looked over the weekend (and again yesterday just to be sure) and the USCIS website says our I129F was approved and the notice was sent to me on Friday (10/25/13). I have not received a notification text or the actual letter though. It seems like mail would make it from Texas to Massachusetts in 4 days... I know I am probably just freaking out here, but is there any chance the website where you put in the case number is wrong?  If not, it was processed in 2 months at the Texas Service Center which makes us ecstatic!

Congratulations you are approved.  I received my NOA2 hard copy today ... took about 6 days after notification to rec it  from Texas to NJ.  Good luck for the rest of the journey dancin5hr.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAlien Registration Number Changed! Help Pls!

It might be or might not be significant.  FYI I got the same noticed from USCIS a month after I filed the I-129f.  A month later I got an RFE which I found out reading thru the posts here that RFE usually means my file has been touch and our application is nearing approval once I submit the requirement needed.  Just hang in there.  Good luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsProof of Relationship questions??

I just filed yesterday the K1 application. I know I am ahead of myself with these questions bit I have a worry on my mind, hoping you all can help!

I met my fiancee early September 2012 on Facebook, every chat log is gone, I deleted them being upset, (long distance relationships are not easy) my cell phone was a prepaid so no record of calls during that period, also lots of phone cards used, found that to be cheaper, I have travel 4xs this year once with my 9 year old to see him, I don't have an engagement ring, but we got tattoos instead of our names over our hearts as a simble of our commitment and engagement. I haven't met his parents yet or siblings, they live in Zimbabwe and he's in South Africa,
With just airline tickets and recent outrageous phone bills how can I prove to officers that this is a true and committed relationship?
Please help guide me on what to do!

Since you just filed the K1 yesterday you should start sending her cards and letters (make sure it has stamp of her post office showing receipt of these), save chat logs, save any phone call logs, gift receipt, emails from here on until her interview.  Proof of ongoing relationship is important during the interview process.  Another visit to her will be better. Take more pictures of you and her showing different places at different times .  Also having pictures with her family will be a plus. Good luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsplz help

I receive a noa2 from the nvc on the 8 of this month saying my approve petition was approve and shipped to the listed consulate....... but am seeing where other person noa2 says it was shipped to nvc or dos can someone help me understand why they sent out two different noa2

When I got our NOA2 hardcopy from TSC it did say the same thing on the form.  However when I called NVC they have not rec'd it yet. More than a week after we got the NOA2 letter, I got a text from USCIS that our case has been updated:  approve petition  sent to NVC.  I called NVC 10 days after the update from USCIS and I was given a case number.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsforwarded to nvc?

Our  NOA2 was Oct. 23, hard copy rec'd Oct 30, from TSC.   Got a noticed that the approved case was forwarded to NVC on Nov. 8.  Case number issued by NVC on Nov. 18.  US embassy rec'd case Nov. 22.  I don't know how they are basing which case to process.  I know it is a long wait.  Just be patience and your turn will come soon.

One more question! So you schedule your interview on feb right? How about the packet thing? Are USEM will send it to you before your interview or its okay if you don't bring it on the day of your interview?

Yes I scheduled the interview for Feb. NVC will forward the files of the case to USEM.  You can track it here : https://ceac.state.g...er/Status.aspx? once you have the case number.  Ours took about 3 business days for NVC to send them to Manila. Here is a link you can find instruction what USEM needs your fiancee has to bring on the day of  the interview http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3224.html

When you call NVC they say up to 8 weeks.  If you have not receive it by the 8th week mark call again .  CSC is averaging about 5 weeks to send case to NVC and TSC is shorter.  TSC usually will update the status that they have sent the approve case to NVC.     Here is a response I got from them when I emailed them regarding our case :

Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for your inquiry. The National Visa Center has not received
your petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Please scan and email your I-797 or I-171 Notice of Action to
nvcresearch@state.gov. Type the receipt number in the subject line of
your email. We will contact USCIS on your behalf to find your petition.

If your I-797 or I-171 Notice of Action does not indicate USCIS approved
your petition and sent it to the Department of State, please contact
USCIS for a status update.

wow! Is that the earliest date?

When I scheduled 3 days ago, the earliest date was Jan. 28.  Right now earliest  is Feb. 10.  The only reason I chose a later date is Im flying to visit my fiancee, join her for the interview and hopefully we can fly back to the states together.

Thank you so much! I'm looking at your timeline right now, is that what you guys did? You didn't wait for the papers from USEM? When is your fiance's interview?

Yes that's what we did.  Just follow the link I gave you and you're all set. Her interview will be on the 18th of Feb.

What I mean is pay at a BPI branch to setup an interview online with the US embassy. Once you have an interview appointment you can have the beneficiary go to St Lukes for a medical.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA2-NVC

Okay, I'm just new here and I'm really really confuse right now thats why I need your Help!

So here it is:  I received my NOA2 Oct 30, 2013. So 23 days passed I havent hear anything from NVC. So i tried calling them and they said that they didn't received my case from USCIS. So I called USCIS about that and they said that NVC will receive cases but they didn't process it for I129f. They will accept it and then gave them the case number and they will send it to the consulate where my fiance lives. So I ask them do they mean that my case is already in NVC is just that they didnt process it thats why they told me  that they dont have it yet? And they said YES.

So today I've tried reading stuffs about this step and most of the people on their timelines was receiving notifications from NVC that they received, process the case number and on the way to their fiance's consulate. So how come USCIS keep on telling me that I will not receive any notifications from NVC.

And 1 more question smile.png After I get my case number. Do we need to scheduled an appointment for the interview? Or just wait till the consulate scheduled us for the interview?  I WILL REALLY APPRECIATE YOU SUGGESTIONS!!!!

From what I have been reading, if your case was processed by the CSC, it is taking about 5 weeks before NVC receives and gives you a number.  When you call NVC they will tell you it is taking 8 weeks but it is usually shorter than that.  So just keep calling them until you get a case number.  By the way since your beneficiary of the K1 is from the Philippines, that number will start with a 3 letter code MNL.

Once you get that MNL number, you don't have to wait for any letter from them to get an interview appointment.  Follow these next steps by Hank : http://visaconnectio...ilippines.com/# . Pay for the visa interview at Manila Embassy and schedule the medical.    And when you have the MNL number you can track here :  https://ceac.state.g...er/Status.aspx?  if the paperwork has been ship by NVC to the embassy.  Usually takes about 3 days. Good luck.

Yes I did receive the notice that they received the response. Have sent in service requests several times and they comfirm that they have it. That sounds too long. From what I have read most people usually get a decision post RFE less than a month.   Did you get a notice that USCIS received your RFE?  Is it a complicated RFE?

Hi everyone!! First I want to say Congrats to all of you who are finally starting to get their case numbers :-) It's nice to see that things are moving along.

For my part, I am still waiting for the Noa2 :-/ are there other people in this situation? I was hopeful for a while but now I feel like I shouldn't expect anything before Xmas (5months),

Anyway, I am staying positive :-) and wish all of you luck whatever step of the process you're at!!

You shouldn't have any problem with the age gap at the U.S. Embassy Manila.

As for the rest of your story, if your fiancée knows all of the details, she won't have a problem at her Embassy interview.

The only place your fiancée may encounter problems is during the CFO seminar.  Make sure she knows all the details about you and your ex-wife, and make sure she brings along a copy of your divorce papers.

What is the CFO seminar?

Thanks for the advice.  When I filed the divorce it was due to irreconcilable differences.  As per the County clerk we don't have to have been separated for 6 months to file for this kind of divorce.  The only requirement are either one of the spouse needs to be residing in NJ for the last 12 months consecutively and the irreconcilable differences has been on going for 6 months or more.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNewbie about the file for K1 visa with some concerns
I am new to this forum and I am glad I found this place since I need an advice on my upcoming filing of a K1 visa for my fiancee.   First my background:  I work in the medical field in one of the hospitals in NJ for more than 20 years . I  was a Filipino Citizen before I got my Green card thru a labor sponsored petition back in 2001. In 2005 I became a naturalized US Citizen.

I was married for  about 11 years to an American until the dissolution of marriage was official and final  in January of this year. We have no children between us (longing for one since my parents have no grandchildren at all). Like me, my ex wife also works  in the medical field where we met.  I don't want to go to details of my divorce but it was a mutual agreement between me and my ex wife to go separate ways years prior to the divorce.  We encouraged each other to date and if we found Mr or Ms right it is OK to go separate ways.  The only reason why I stayed this long in the relationship and never divorce her  after our falling out was financial.  She lost her job in 2005, could not find one or was not seriously looking for one;  I supported her until she went back to the workforce in 2012.  I moved out of our place in October of 2012.

In April of 2012,  I went home to my home province in the Philippines and at an uncle's party met my future fiancee. My uncle knowing my situation with my ex was playing matchmaker.  He knew my fiancee since she is the youngest sibling of his girlfriend.  He knew she was a nice person and he wanted the best for me albeit young.   We didnt hit it off right away.  We talked a bit for probably a couple of  hours... i didnt even ask her for her number at that time.  I didnt even thnikning to date her. We just exchanged Facebook information and thought that was it. Note she was 22 years old and I was 43 years old at that time.  We really didn't think much of each other, until we started talking in Facebook one day when I saw her online.. The relationship just took off as we saw a lot in common inspite of our age difference. When I talked to her, it was so easy as if I knew her already. We felt so much enamored with one another.  We set June 8th of 2012 as the time we entered in a relationship (facebook timeline)  and from there on celebrated monthsary every 8th of the month.  I wasnt even familar what a monthsary was. For about six hours each day for the next 11 months (until today) we would either chat tru Skype or Facebook.  We have out Skype on even when we were sleeping and just leave her laptop and mine ON.  Then facetime in recent months. I called her a few times via phone card, google chat and some email.  We celebrated our birthdays , sent her cards and on Valentines Day of 2013 sent her a bouquet of flowers and a big bear. She sent me some sweet candies from back home and had a shirt made with both of our name on it with a heart on my birthday.  Christmas she did same thing sent me a package with candies and a Christmas card. Basically we fell in love with each other.

I knew it is going to be a  long distance relationship and even before I entered in this relationship , I asked my future fiancee about our age difference. What does she think about it,  and for her age does not matter.  She was coming off a bad five year relationship with a  boyfriend of same age who was with several women while  he was still with her . She thought  men who are older are more mature and more caring.   I was upfront with her that I was married but working on my divorce and she knew everything about the reason why me and my ex wife have irreconcilable differences. My future fiancee was jealous and worried at first thinking she was the caused of our divorce but she got over it. Partly she made it easier for me to part ways with my ex .On my ex part,  she understood what was going on and it was a mutual agreement that we have to move forward in life. Why should we continue a marriage relationship devoid of love anyway.

In the meantime my ex got hired a full time job by early August 2012 and it made it easier for me to   start the divorce process.  By January of 2013 the divorce went for final judgement and the marriage between she and I was dissolved.

I went back home to the Philippines this past April. I stayed there for more than three weeks to be with my fiancee and proposed to her officially at our engagement party attended by her parents, her relatives , my relatives and friends. Unfortunately my parents weren't able to make it since they live in Los Angeles and my Dad has been sick with cancer but was able to view the event via Skype. We started dating at the same time during this period going to different places in the Philippines and even went out of the country to visit one of the Asian countries. This is the first time we were physically together. In three weeks that we spent time together we fell in love more and know each other better.  We started talking about marriage, having kids and family together.  She knows I want to have children since I dont have none at all and it has been one of my wishes.   I was advised by a cousin of mine that K1 is the best way to bring her to the US.

Sorry for the long background but I do want to be as detailed as possible.  So here are my questions.  I know there will be two red flags when she goes for an interview in Manila.  Firstly they will question her about our age difference and secondly why I was on an online relationship with my fiancee to be when the divorce was not final.  Should I just forego the K1 visa process and just marry my fiancee and go for a different route? My second question is if I go for the K1 where will my timeline start? Is it  from the time we got officially engaged ? I appreciate any suggestions or comments in this matter.

I am sorry for this stupid question.  When paying the $340 fee is it OK if I send a check not from my checking account but from my father?  The reason why I am asking this is I pay all my bills online and I have not had any checks for a number of years now.  I don't want my bank to charge me an exorbitant fee to just have one check.  I know I can pay thru money order but I want something that is traceable.  Thanks for any input on this matter.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of on going relationship

USEM is not THAT difficult of a embassy that you need to be concerned with front loading your petition.  Save all your ongoing evidence proof for the embassy where it actually matters.

Right now you need to show proof of having met within the past 2 years.  That is passport stamps, airline tickets, receipts while together and 4-6 pictures together, (you for sure don't need to send 40 pictures.)...  (never DO DO when DO will DO)

What you need to do is make sure you have everything that is required with the I-129F, follow the GUIDE for the K-1 visa here on VJ and all will be fine.

That is good to hear smile.png  .  The reason why I want to submit as much proof as possible early on is because I don't want my fiancee to face a CO who will be interviewing her be biased against divorce as well as age difference between the couple without reviewing evidence or proof in hand.

Two things that has worried me from day 1  that might appear as a red flag to a CO eventhough I meet USCIS criteria are:

1. I am almost 21 years older than my fiancee. She is turning 24 years this year and me 45.  Although I look young for my age, it might play a role of the CO thinking that my fiancee goal is only to migrate in the US!

2.  I got divorce from my ex wife of 12 years recently... back in January of this year. Our relationship had been going downhill for a few years ... and without any kids to have a real bond holding the marriage, we had a mutual agreement that we should separate ways when we meet the right person.  Unfortunately she lost her job and I did not want to just abandon her.  I hang around her until last year when she finally went back to the workforce.  After I met my fiancee back in May of last year (we were introduced to each other by a relative of mine), we started contacting each other online when I came back  home to the states. Eventually we fell in love with each other , spending at least a total of 6 hours a day chatting either thru facebook or skype. These two events made it easier for me to go ahead and file for the divorce.  My fiancee knew of my marriage and I explained to her my relationship with my ex.  I did not get engage to my fiancee until my second trip to the Philippines last April 2013. We had an engagement party with both our families and her friends present.

Other than those two red flags me and my fiancee are pretty compatible since we came from the same province, I can speak her own native dialect and we do have a strong feeling towards each other.  Oh by the way, I came to the US when I was 19 years old .  I have dealt a lot with the INS in the past since I came here in the United States with a student visa then working visa, green card ( thru labor certification) and finally US citizenship so I have my own experiences with  the INS  smile.png.  But the US embassy I only dealt only once years ago when I left my country to study in the US.

Thanks for all the tips.  I will try to condensed my proof to a more manageable size.  I have also some Xoom and Western Union receipts of money I sent my fiancee  during her birthday and other special occasions.  Should I send copies of these or hold off until the CO asks for it during the interview?

My fiancee has a google mail account and it displays her  cell number on same page with her email and pics.  I printed this and highlighted that number. For my calls to her using google voice, all I did was print the pages using the browser print option.  I highlighted all calls I made with her number and wrote an explanation about it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of on going relationship

Well you are already including it as proof of meeting, so there is no need to "use it again" (i.e. make 2 copies of it). It will all be there for the embassy to look at. smile.png

Lol .  I am ####### retentive about things so I just want to make sure that the adjudicator do not miss anything when he/she starts reviewing my petition. Thanks for the responses.

Yes I already have the proof of meeting and the necessary forms and they will be mailed together with the proof of ongoing relationship . Sorry if I was not clear about it.  I followed the VJ guide including the cover letter.  However at the end it says something about proof of ongoing relationship... although it is not necessary and not required by USCIS at this stage it might be helpful to frontload that is why I am asking if I can use again the passport stamps , our plane boarding passes, hotel etc. to show that there is an ongoing relationship that is why I am travelling with her.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of on going relationship

I am about to submit the I 129F packet and have some questions/concerns regarding front loading the application since my fiancee is from the Philippines.  So far I will include:

  1. Facebook chats ( sampling of at least 2 to 3 per month) during the last 14 months of our relationship.

  2. Facebook postings of 2 to 3 postings per month spanning 14 months.

  3. Skype chat logs for the last 14 months.

4.Skype or Facetime pictures of us taken while we were  Skyping (spanning different months in our relationship)            and posted by my fiancee in facebook with the posting date showing.

5.A few emails, a few google voice calls showing a log of calls

  6. Flowers and bear I sent my fiancee for Valentines day which she took a picture of her holding them. I am                 including receipt of it.

  7. Two receipts from shipping company when I sent her some chocolates

  8. About 40 pictures of us together. Most pictures were taken from our engagement party. While the rest were taken       from the various places we visited together.  I will also include pictures of us with her family and friends.

Is this enough or do I need to submit more evidence of our relationship?  Can I include passport stamps , plane  boarding passes , travel itinerary and hotel receipts and will they qualify as proof of on going relationship?

There are new forms available on USCIS website.

and

g-325a (expires 02/28/2015)

but, they still accept previous versions. smile.png

I was in a panic because I sent the older version to my fiance oops8rh.gif , but now that I have read that, I am so relieved!

I submitted  G-325a forms downloaded  here with exp. date of 2011 .  I too was worried about it and called FEDEX to stop delivery of the documents when I submitted last week.  Unfortunately it was too late.  I called USCIS customer service twice and was rest assured that it should not be an issue.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresJust starting out!

Any other tips on sending this petition? What are some things you guys included ? Also if you dont mind me asking what did you put it in to send it ? like a binder ? or sheet protectors ?

When I sent our application I also included proof of my ongoing relationship with my fiancee.  I didnt include tons : a few pictures of us together from various places we visited together with hotel receipts and plane boarding passes,  sampling of our facebook messages per month since this was our main way of communicating with each other, some google voice call logs, a few email, receipts of packages I sent her etc.

The way I put the paperwork together is I used a fastener to hold everything.  I followed tips found here :http://www.uscis.gov...0000ecd190aRCRD

Good luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAdvice on "proof of divorce"

When I became divorced some yeas ago the Family Court sent me a "Final Divorce Decree", dated and signed by the Judge.

I thought that was "proof of divorce" and so sent what I had been sent.

Now I find that there is a special form that must be purchased here in NH for $10.  The clerk assured me that was the form that the Manila embassy/consulate wanted.

So this is just a heads-up hoping to enlighten others that might fall into the same trap.

I image that this has been posted here someplace but neither I nor Juliet never came across it, or perhaps we did and never recognized that I had the wrong form.

Now we have to wait another week or two for the form to get there.

Though this will give Juliet adequate time to fill an extra suitcase or two with her favorite dried fish.  (For those who might not know those from the Philippines only eat dried fish and rice--well, maybe a banana or coconut on occasion... devil.gif )

Do you think I will get an rfe for sending the final divorce decree even though it has the gold seal and signed by the judge when I sent it with the I-129f?   This was the actual copy given by the court to me after my divorce.
