mailed petition on the 7th, rcvd by"m.salcedo" at tcs on the 9th...and still nothing...any others out there that have been out there as long as i have still waiting to hear something??? how do you know if they transfer the petition to csc??? do you get noa1 first and then check cashed or vise versa??? do they e-mail me personally??? come on, give me a sign...something...anything...hellooo...stevo-

Hi! Seems like we have a similar timeline almost. I sent my petition (the I-130) out Feb 7th to the Texas Service Center, got there on the 8th and a notice was left, delivered to and signed by M Salcedo on Feb 9th, my NOA1 was sent out the 13th and I got it on the 20th from the California Service Center! As far as the checking cashing thing, I have no idea because I sent a money order instead of a personal check. You should be getting your NOA1 any day now though I assume!

Hope this helps! I was freaking out because I'm like why is it taking SO long?! (I know it was only like a week waiting but I'm a very impatient person lol!) I believe I now know why it took so that long though: Because it was transferred to the California Service Center! I could be wrong though...

Anyways, sorry for rambling! And I hope you get that NOA1 soon! :D

Indeed, there's that. And the estimate was quite accurate: I had been on the line for 10:17 when the call finally rang through to a person.

I gave in and called the NVC today. They say I am finally out of AP after 29 days! I will believe it when USEM has my case. I don't see any packages going to Manila on DHL's website. Hopefully we are almost through.

Well, my congressman's immigration caseworker just called. She talked to NVC, and they gave her the standard "could be 2 to 3 weeks" line. blink.gif

I'll just keep calling twice a day so I know as soon as it goes out the door—and in the meantime, they can be as sick of me as I am of them and their retarded process.

It's a different person each time, so not sure how anyone can get sick of you. I'm down to twice a week calls now.....Tuesday/Friday. Even if approved in between, I know it will take a few more days to get there before I can set an interview date. Guess they've worn me down some.

ok... well, this just in!!

A review of the computer system shows that the fiancée petition is pending at this time, going through the security clearance process and you are welcome to periodically check for status.

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely, efficient manner that ensures public safety and national security.

Toward the end of the adjudicative process, USCIS requires extensive background checks for every application or petition it adjudicates. While background checks for most applications or petitions are completed quickly, a small percentage of cases involve unresolved background check issues that result in adjudication delays.

Background checks involve more than just the initial submission of and response related to biographical information and fingerprints. When checks and/or a review of an administrative record reveals an issue potentially impacting an applicant's eligibility for the requested immigration benefit, further inquiry is needed. The inquiry may include an additional interview and/or the need to contact another agency for updates or more comprehensive information. If it is determined that an outside agency possesses relevant information about a case, USCIS requests such information for review. Upon gathering and assessing all available information, USCIS then adjudicates the application/petition as expeditiously as possible.

We have checked into your constituent's case and have been assured that USCIS is aware of your inquiry, and is monitoring progress related to it. However, unresolved issues in your constituent's case require thorough review before a decision can be rendered. Unfortunately, we cannot speculate as to when this review process will be completed.

We realize that your constituent may feel frustrated by delays related to his or her case. USCIS must weigh individual inconvenience against the broader concerns of public safety and national security.

We hope this information is helpful. If we may be of assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to contact this office.

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while - been pretty crazy. I've started to add a comment or two, but I feel almost guilty since we got our NOA2 and so many others are waiting. Crazy to feel that way, I know. Nevertheless....

Just an update on us and how post-NOA2 has been so far. NVC got our paperwork last Monday and sent it to the embassy on Tuesday (8/18). I waited to call until 8/19 and it was already through. Calling NVC was painless except the number was busy a lot so it took a while to get through. Once connected, very fast and efficient. They gave me the Case Number assigned (see below) but I also got a copy in the mail from NVC on Saturday with that information.

I've tracked what I believe is our package from NVC using the link http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef I entered "EXP 18 AUG 2009A" as the reference and chose dates to/from of 8/17 and 8/19. It's documented elsewhere on how to do this, but if you need any assistance, send me a PM and I'd be happy to assist. Anyway, it looks like the package is in Manila now, but hasn't been signed for at the embassy.

Amy has her medical tomorrow. For Manila, it's first-come, first-serve. So all she needed was the print of the NOA2 notification email and the Case Number assigned by NVC (not the EAC number from VSC), along with passport photos.

We hope everyone from March gets approved soonest. My sprinklers are on right now and my pom-poms are out. Hang in there and let me know if I can be of any help. And be ready - as others have said, things happen fast once this step is done.

My paperwork has been at the NVC since Aug 10th while I keep seeing how others are in and out in a couple of days. Seems like things there are just as screwed up as at the USCIS. Not sure what "additional processing" they could be doing all this time.

Cut myself off on that last reply. Again, congrats to all the filers who have had their paperwork approved. Like I said, I'm not one of them. My NOA1 date is 03/02/09. I'm starting to get a little concerned. The paperwork has only been "touched" once, on 03/05/09. Is that normal? Should I continue to be patient or consider calling the USCIS customer service line to find out the status. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

Sorry about the AP. I know how stressful it can be. I also got the white slip after my interview last February 2009. The CO requested that we submit again the 3rd page of the I-129F petition. I submitted it to the Embassy after 3 days.

The next day, they called me and informed me that our I-134 and other financial documents were missing. I argued with him that I had already submitted the originals and told him that the photocopies I have with me are incomplete.

Anyway, I submitted my incomplete photocopies of the financial documents the same day. My fiance also made a call to the embassy within the hour that they called me. He told them that it is their responsibility to find the missing financial documents. He must have scared them because I got my visa after 3 working days.

Don't give up. Keep calling the embassy every 3-5 days. Know the reason why they put your husband on AP.

~Chinook

Who did you request to speak to when calling? My fiancee got the white slip today because they did not have my divorce decree because our entire package is missing somewhere after leaving the NVC (but we got the letter to schedule the interview?). It's there fault they lost the paperwork and she is very depressed. Of course she will send it through air21 today to be there Monday, but who's to say it won't sit on someone's desk for weeks? I won't to keep it moving as it wasn't our fault.

It's the impatient one, isn't it? I am not good when it comes to waiting for things lol! smile.gif

But anyways, I've looked over some of the timelines on here and with no RFE's it takes at least 2 weeks or a little bit less for peoples' cases to be completed after that "NVC has received the checklist on..." message on the automated service.

NVC received our "checklist" (we were missing the DS-230) on 9/11 and no "Case Complete" message yet. Should I call them? I'm afraid of bugging them too much and fear that they could get too ticked off and push our case back "by accident".

Mononoke, what does your 8-ball say lol?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresOk, FINALLY got the approval!

FINALLY I got the approval email (2 actually) last night from the famous "CRIS". My husband and I are still in shock. It's so hard to believe that it happened last night!

Anyways, what is my next step? I know you hear this from EVERYONE I'm sure and I have looked but I'm still confused.

Can I do anything to get started now? Or do I just wait for the NOA2 in the mail and then instructions about NVC will be in there telling my what my next steps are?

I've read the NVC Jame's shortcuts too, a little confusing but if I re-read 'em over again and again I'm sure I'll understand it more, especially when I have the paperwork in front of me! ;)

Is this next process with the NVC difficult at all? The main thing that I'm worried about is those forms my husband has to fill out. His mail service down in Honduras is terrible and it takes 2 months to get something! I know about the Choice of Agent thing and I know that I only am supposed to send an email to NVC telling them to make me the Choice of Agent once I hear that they have generated that form, but after the papers get sent to me, how can I get my husband to fill his part out (if he has to fill something out?).

Can you tell I'm a bit worried and confused? Thank you for any and all replies! :D

Congratulations on the approval!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFebruary Filers!

Anyone gonna be filing with the Texas Service Center in February? I hope to send our's by the end of the week.

Hello everybody!
We sent our application yesterday, February 6th, to Texas center. And now we have a question... on USPS's site it says that they attempted delivery, today at 11:44 AM (so during office hours I would say), and a notice was left. They will try a second delivery... But now I wonder, how can they get a delivery receipt from a PO box?!
We are both confused and until we get an answer from a USPS office (cause it seems that is as hard as getting an answer from USCIS  ), I was wondering if anyone had this stupid problem.

Hey, you know something? I sent my I-130 out yesterday. Got there at 10:44am this morning and I am reading the SAME thing about how they attempted delivery and all that notice being left stuff. I am confused too! But glad to see that I'm NOT the only one! Still makes me worried, I don't want it to get sent back! :(

Editing: Well I just read Nazuspe's answer as well as yours and all is well! So I'm sure now that mine will get delivered! I feel more relieved now! Thanks!

Our plan is to wait till London gets our package officially, then we phone and book the medical, which is valid for 1 year, we have our case# for them, and then we will send in package 3 when they send us the "letter", i am tempted to just send the stuff since we know if the consulate has our info. I donno. So now my lovely man has to get on the ball and get this stuff going....oh what a naggy wife I'll be but I dont care...lol! I have it all planned out for him and so he just has to fill the stuff out and go do the medical....

I tried to schedule an interview last night, and the girl at the embassy asked if my fiancee had received the "letter" yet. I said that I didn't think so. Then she claimed that I wasn't even in the system and could schedule in another week if my fiancee had received the "letter". Today I called the Dept. of State only to find out my case has been in Manila and the letter was mailed on the 10th. I think the embassy was just blowing me off thinking I still need to get together all the paperwork from the "letter" before worrying about an interview. ranting33va.gif I'm calling back tonight and demanding an appointment to be set. devil.gif

That is good news. I've been out a week now, but I still can't schedule an interview. I won't feel comfortable with it until that happens.

Well.....my girl is doing her medical right now even though we are still at the NVC. Best to get something else out of the way with the luck we've had so far. Most of her friends have already scheduled their interviews and some even already passed them while we still wait.

Wait..you can do medical ahead of time? I thought you have to have the USEM approve you for that?

Ya, i know, very odd indeed, but well, more power to him! lol

Not odd at all and common in the Philippines. You just need a copy of the NOA2 and letter from the NVC with case number to show the guard. And it worked out just great because we are finally out of AP as of Sept. 8th. kicking.gif

I hope this week is productive....thats all I have to say! As with doing the medical, there is no point till the consulate has the info for that person cause the doctor's going to send it to them and well, they wont have their info and wont know what to do with it!
Anyway, good luck all. Lisa, as with books, i like Nora Roberts, Danielle Steele kind of books, definately not the sappy romance stuff but also not gory mystery's either...i'm sorta picky....lol

It's common for filipinas to fail the skin test for TB, and the sputum test, if failed, can add many more weeks or months to the journey. Wanted to get one more thing out of the way, and we did. She just finished up day 2 with a clean bill of health. good.gif
