IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresApproval emails received lastnight
Thank you both for the congrats! You guys were also very helpful!

I read that site about what's needed for the NVC and I see that you're right Mononoke28, all I need is that 1st page of that Ds-230 form filled out and his bio page of his passport. He's getting his passport on the 15th this month so we're all set there.

The Choice of Agent part I read (and re-read again lol) but I'm so nervous right now. I just hope we do things right! I've just got to keep thinking positive! :)

About the Choice of Agent email, could I write it pretending to me my husband? Or does my husband HAVE to write it himself? I'm just wondering if it really matters because it's hard for him to get to the cybers sometimes!

Thanks ladies!

Also: Good luck to you ladies with the NVC since you are both already there! :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresApproval emails received lastnight
I by accidentally posted this in the wrong forum so I'm re-posting the same thing in the right forum this time. Hope that's okay. I just really need some help!

"FINALLY I got the approval email (2 actually) last night from the famous "CRIS". My husband and I are still in shock. It's so hard to believe that it happened last night!

Anyways, what is my next step? I know you hear this from EVERYONE I'm sure and I have looked but I'm still confused.

Can I do anything to get started now? Or do I just wait for the NOA2 in the mail and then instructions about NVC will be in there telling my what my next steps are?

I've read the NVC Jame's shortcuts too, a little confusing but if I re-read 'em over again and again I'm sure I'll understand it more, especially when I have the paperwork in front of me! ;)

Is this next process with the NVC difficult at all? The main thing that I'm worried about is those forms my husband has to fill out. His mail service down in Honduras is terrible and it takes 2 months to get something! I know about the Choice of Agent thing and I know that I only am supposed to send an email to NVC telling them to make me the Choice of Agent once I hear that they have generated that form, but after the papers get sent to me, how can I get my husband to fill his part out (if he has to fill something out?).

Can you tell I'm a bit worried and confused? Thank you for any and all replies! :D "

Just out of interrest, who all have filed to VSC in February and later on been transferred to CSC? Since we all may be approved around the same time...

There's me and Geist (as almost the only couple on the forum who have separate messaging accounts :D ). Then there's also vylex, dillydally and virt. Is that all? Or did i miss someone?

I'm still waiting since the last touch on 5/23. MegDan recently got approved although she started at CSC. Her NOA1 was at 2/13 think. Her last touch before the good news email was at 5/24. If that's the case and our NOA1 dates are honored, we should be getting our files looked at this month (FINGERS CROSSED TO THE POINT I CAN'T SEPARATE THEM).

Still waiting too... My husband is convinced that there is something fishy going on because we haven't heard anything. I hope he is not right.

Don't JINX it!! You'll probably get approved either tomorrow or Friday since you got touched on the 23rd.

Mononoke28 you must be a psychic lol! Just opened up my email to find 2 emails from CRIS! We we're APPROVED!!!!!!!!!! I shouted to my parents, couldn't get the words out, finally got them out, burst into tears, and had trouble dialing the phone to call my husband lol. Finally I stopped shaking and got to tell him the wonderful news! He is in shock too! :D

any good news for this week?

Just like you, we got two touches this week, two last week and one on the week prior to that. But so far, no really good news. The good thing is that it looks as if CSC has approved almost the whole February now, so an approval shouldn't be too far off  .

Gosh, I hope you are right. :(

I received a touch today also...wondering if they actually looked at my file or it was because of the "trick" I did yesterday. Hopefully it was them actually looking at it and maybe there is an approval coming! :D

http://www.visajourn...showtopic=43271

That link above is what I found on what this "trick" could be. I just did it actually. I went through the RFE prompts and talked with someone live...I didn't get anywhere though! :( He told me that my case is still pending and that it hasn't been updated at all. He also told me that it was probably a computer glitch and that many people have been calling in to ask about the same thing. They are trying to fix it.

So maybe they are too busy trying to fix a "computer glitch" instead of looking over our petitions and issuing our NOA2s? Nice.

Maybe someone else will have better luck with this "trick"!

I had a feeling something was up.... I thought I was the only one. I also received my first two touches over two days.

Anyone here try the RFE trick that the k-1r's are doing?

Seems that the CSC hasn't been sending RFE or approval emails or letters as they should be.

I've heard of this "RFE trick" but not sure on exactly how to do it. Anyone know and should it be tried? It's getting close to being 100 days since NOA1. I already called USCIS and spoke with some rep. She told me if I didn't hear anything by August 15, call back!

Looks like CSC is a little too disorganized, huh? I would like to know if there is an RFE or even an approval out there somewhere!

What is this RFE trick of which you speak?

I cannot answer exactly how to do it because I too am wondering exactly how this "trick" is done, but I remember skimming through some posts and some people say that you call up the USCIS number and go through the "RFE" thing where you punch in the numbers it tells you to...I guess maybe you pretend that you got an RFE and then when you finally get to speak to someone, maybe you feel them out about an RFE.

Someone please correct me on this because I don't believe this is how the exact "trick" goes. Thanks!

Funny story, I was getting really bummed out depressed that I wasn't getting approved. Wrote my senator just in case, but they said it would be 3-4 weeks before they could get anyting done. So I was in a pretty weird distant mood. So I told myself, don't check your email or your case for a week, or atleast a couple of days. Well I'm bad at self restrant and guess what I got?

Hi! Let's see if I can help you. You go online to the USCIS website and type in your receipt number. You keep track of the date under "Last Updated" and if it changes, then you've been "touched". I hope I haven't confused you and I hope I was of some help! :D Oh, and when you click on your receipt number when you've been "touched", sometimes the current status will change, other times it won't.

Wow, 10 months! Congratulations to you! And good luck as well! (I still cannot believe that I received 2 email approvals last night. Still feels like a dream lol!)

I know! 10 months for *no* reason! I'm Canadian (less than 2 hours from the US border), it's the first marriage for both of us, we're the same age (only 40 days apart,) we've been married for more than 2 years, neither of us have any kids, no criminal records, had no RFEs, etc... I thought our case would be easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy -- how silly of me! (Thankfully, we got pretty lucky with the K-3, so at least I'll be with hubby in the US in 24 days!)

Congrats and GOOD LUCK to you, as well! I know what you mean -- I really don't believe I actually got an approval. I've had to read the e-mails and the USCIS website at least 4 times to be sure! After watching people get approvals (and some even greencards) while I waited for an NOA2 for 10 months, I thought something had perhaps gone seriously wrong. Hubby's on his way here to visit (for 10 days) and he doesn't know we got our approval. I can't wait to celebrate, tonight! ;)

I would have thought the same way, that you would definitely be getting some kind of RFE or something was REALLY wrong! Thank goodness it was a positive result and you FINALLY got that approval!

Thank you for the luck, I know we'll need it for the wait time for the NVC, but I'm not complaining. We got our approval so THAT part of waiting is finally over and now it's onto the next step!

Just like you, I read my emails and went on the site and read that a few times over again to make sure. (I didn't want to put ALL my eggs in one basket lol!)

Have a wonderful celebration! ;)
