Also, on the interview sheet, she had nothing which was supposed to be brought with her...what did you all take with you?

Hello guys, our case got completed last December 8, although I don't have yet my interview date that will occur in US Embassy-Riyadh Saudi Arabia, i'm starting to feel so nervous and worried about the result.
I already got all the documents aside from the PCC, do I have to get another NBI clearance from the Philippines and a PCC in Saudi aside from those I submitted to the NVC? These things really made me so uncomfortable and can'y sleep at night.

Did you guys get another PCC to be submitted during your interview or the NVC will send those PCC's that you previously submitted to them to the embassy? unsure.gif wacko.gif

No you don't have to send another PCC with you nvc will forward for you . i don't understand the saudi NBI what are you asking exactly?

NBI is from my native country, its more like PCC in general because this agency is like FBI in the US and its covering the whole country instead of getting a PCC for every place I've lived in the Philippines.
Thank you for your inputs..keep safe!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCan I go with my wife for the Interview?
Most of the embassies I know allow the USC spouse to be their spouse during the interview,
When I had my interview in Riyadh, there were 3 applicants whose accompanied by their spouse, so defenitely they do allow that.

The way you wrote this message was truly a moment of excitement. Anyhow, regarding the case completion wait at least two weeks then call back the NVC to ask if they already send the packet to US Embassy-Casablanca.

If you wanna be with your wife on her interview, that would be a plus.

If you can wait until she finishes everything before you go back to the US, then why don't you go together.

Documents? are you asking about the interview? She needs to bring everything that will show as a proof that you are entering the marriage not to evade US immigration law, but, it seem to me that you are Muslims right? Is this a arrange marriage?

HI EVERYONE, I AM NEW HERE BUT I AM GLAD I FOUND THIS SITE IT HAS TONS OF INFO
NOW MY SITUATION IS; I HAVE AN 8 YEAR OLD STEP SON,HE IS BEEN WITH ME IN THE UNITED STATES SINCE HE WAS A BABY, I AM A USC AND I AM TRYING TO PETITION FOR HIM,BUT HE HAS NO VISA,HE HAD A MEXICAN PASSPORT BUT IT WAS LOST, MY QUESTION IS HOW DO I START ALL THE PROCESS? I'VE BEEN MARRIED WITH MY WIFE(BIOLOGICAL MOTHER) FOR 5 YEARS BUT TOGETHER FOR 7YEARS, SHE IS IN THE IR-1 PROCESS AND WE ARE GATHERING PAPERWORK TO SEND WITH THE DS-230. I STARTED AN STEPPARENT ADOPTION CASE IN CALIFORNIA AND WE WERE WAITING UNTIL THE SOCIAL WORKER TOLD US THAT WE CAN NOT CONTINUE BECAUSE HE HAS NO SSN, SO THAT CASE WILL STAY OPEN UNTIL HE GETS ONE..WILL THIS BE A PROBLEM WITH THE PETITION? I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP BECAUSE I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO.

THANK YOU

Hi, regarding with your questions, it is advisable to ask an immigration lawyer.
Definitely you need his passport and if he lost it, contact the embassy of Mexico on how to replace it.
I am sure it's not an easy task because you have to provide some documents and reports how his passport got
lost.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMy fiance has been denied his visa and I just found out I am pregnant
After reading this forum, I just realized I might get in the same situation. Me and my wife was introduced by my aunt who is working with her in the same Hospital for quite long time. We were introduced in the year 2003, and we continue our relationship thru letters, cards, text messages and letters until June of 2008 ,when we both took our vacation (I am working in Saudi Arabia) we got married from the very first time that we've met in July 2008.

I have this worries that they might think that our relationship is a sham because we were introduced by my aunt. I hope not. I really need to be with my wife to start our family and to be with her

Where exactly in the middle east? If she were in Saudi Arabia, she don't need to obtain the PCC from KSA, for PCC is obtainable by those citizen currently living in the Kingdom only. Once you go back to your country, they will not provide you that document and the US Embassy is aware of that.

Hello everyone, I was wondering if any of you has an idea about this.
I have never applied for a B2 visa because I have usually traveled as a tourist under the Visa Waiver Program. Now that our petition for the K1 visa is pending (NOA1 received a few days ago), can I still travel to the US as a tourist? We called USCIS and they said "no problem as long as you get back home for the interview". so simple?
Also, having traveled many times to the US in the past few years, I read it's advisable to apply for a B2 visa, but then again, will the US embassy give me a visa while our petition is pending?
On the B2 visa form it's expressely asked if someone ever filed an immigrant visa petition for me (and I'd say that the I129F form to obtain the K1 visa is exactly the case, although technically K1 is not an immigrant visa...). If I say yes, I think I can forget about the visa.
Anyone in the same situation?

Yes you can travel on the VWP.

Be sure to bring plenty of documentation you will return to Italy.

thanks for your reply. Bringing documentation I will return to Italy is actually the main problem:
- I'm a self employed professional
- I don't have any estates or vehicles under my name
- no loans

of course I will have a return ticket, but that's it. what else could I bring?
Do I have to bring the papers about the K1 visa petition?

There is no need to bring those papers, for more informations needed, inquire at the nearest US Embassy or consulate in your area.

Has anyone had any experience removing a lawyer in the middle of the immigration process? What needs to be done? Could it delay the immigration process in any way?

as i mentioned above, my husband and i fired our attorney, after we had already filed our I-130 and recieved NOA1. we simply had our attorney (before we let her go for good) type up a letter withdrawing our petition, and herself from our case. pretty simple. If you do not want your attorney anymore it is your right to get rid of him/her. simply ask them to withdraw their representation, and don't forget to ask for ALL of your documents and forms back before you cut ties for good!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLawyers are a waste of money!
I agree that hiring a lawyer is up to each individual petitioner, based on their circumstances. Here's my experience, just incase it will help anyone reading.
Hubby and I wanted to hire a lawyer so that things would be "easier". We explained our entire situation, that we were married and living overseas, and we wanted the easiest option for our case. She recomended K3. We spent months getting paperwork ready. Her secretary filled out all of the paperwork WRONG and my husband and I had to sit with white out and fix everything!!! We paid her attorney fees, filing fees, shipping from here to the USA, etc. We eventually found out from VJ that we were able to do DCF here in Saudi, and we asked our attorney's advice on what to do. She, an attorney with 17 years experience in immigration law, claimed that there was no way we could do DCF, that it could take years, that it's not "all it's cracked up to be", etc. She accused us of second guessing "her" decisions about the case, so we fired her for sure. Money lost or not, we took our case into our own hands, and 2 months later we are getting ready for our CR1 interview. I'm glad we trusted our guts and not just our attorney. The fact is, an attorney will not do what is best for you, they will do what is easiest for them...no matter how much money you pay them.
My advice to anyone considering an attorney is unless your case is really out of the ordinary, just do it yourselves!

QUOTE (PinayAmerican @ Jul 28 2009, 10:16 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello, vjers. Finally, my interview is over. I have waited for it the whole year. And, I'm happy to say that I nailed it. Thanks to those who wish me goodluck and who prayed for me. ^ ^

Here is my interview story:

Since the embassy was closed yesterday, July 27, 2009, the embassy was a bit crowded today. I was expecting that to happen so I went there 2 hours before my actual interview time, which is 8:30. We were asked to fall in line under immigrant visa and the guard checked our appointment letter. My mother wasn't allowed to go inside because of the big number of applicants today. I was in line for about 15-20 minutes. Afterwards, I proceeded to gate number 3 for my things to be scanned. The lady guard checked my perfume, maybe to examine it has the bomb-ability..eheheh! Then, I went to the immigrant visa section of the embassy (followed the blue signs). The guard asked me to sit down with some other people whose schedule is at 8:30. I waited for like an hour before I got my ticket number. Those who had 7:00 schedule were prioritized even though they came in late. I think that wasn't fair. After about 20 minutes, my name was called for finger scanning in window 16. We were asked to rub our hands while in line. hahaha! Like we were freezing. You have to make sure your hands are clean and not wet. I was asked to go back to the waiting area. I was called after 20-25 minutes for pre-screening at window 18. The prescreener asked me these questions:
1. What is your name?
2. When is your birthday?
3. Who is your husband?
4. How did you meet?
5. When did you meet for the first time?
6. How long did he stay on his first visit?
7. Was he/were you married before?
8. Do you have any children?
9. How old are you> I was asked to change my age in my ds230 form..because I had my bday last June.
10. How old is he?

She asked me to show some pictures, emails, chatlogs, etc. I just gave her the clear books I compiled for the interview. They were accepted as they were prepared. ^ ^ We made them fit into the window. The longest wait for me was for my final interview with the consul. I waited for than 30 minutes. Sorry, I'm not so particular with the time as I was seriously watching the numbers flashing on the board. hehe! I was finally called before 11:00 in window 28. I also had a goodlooking consul. He greeted me in tagalog and I find it awesome. hehe! I was asked to raise my right hand to swear. I was asked with so many questions about my husband. I was asked of questions I never thought I would be asked of. But, since I know my husband so well, I did not freak out.

Here are his questions (in random)
1. How long have you known your husband?
2. When did you get married?
3. When was the last time you saw him?
4. What is his job?
5. What was he doing before he becomes an air force? (means, previous job, good thing I remembered his previous company)
6. How did he become a 2nd lt? (wooooo...hahah)
7. How did you meet?
8. Where did he serve a mission?
9. How long was it?
10. How about you? where did you have your mission? Why not? Ahhhh
11. Do you have any children?
etc, etc, etc.

Then, he told me that he appreciates how I organized my stuff and even thanked me for doing so. Then, he smiled and said, my visa is approved. yeah! I was asked to proceed to window 37 to get my PINK slip. I got it and went straight to air21 and paid 205. 00 pesos. I was out of the embassy around 5 minutes before 11 am.

I asked the consul if I can have my married name in my visa or if i can have my name annotated in my visa. He was sorry that he doesn't know if that would work and he asked me to try to ask to the person in window 37. The lady told me that my visa will be in my maiden name as in the passport. hmmmm!

Anyway, it was stressful but I'm glad I made it. woohooo! Xylide and I will be traveling next week. Hope to get my visa soon.
Thanks vjers and good luck to the rest of us. God be with us always!

CONGRATULATIONS good.gif

In the swedish alphabet we have 3 letters then english don´t. Should I use them? They are present in names ( not mine but my fathers) and adresses.
Or should I use a and o instead of the swedish å, ä and ö?

I think, you have to write it down only for your name, there's a space provided if your name was written other than the english alphabet.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMailing Address is a PO Box
QUOTE (Vanessa1 @ Aug 18 2009, 06:15 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
My husband and I were just married over the summer and we are working on the initial visa paperwork for a CR1 visa. His mailing address is a PO box and I'm trying to figure out what to put on the I-130 application. It seems to me on the form that they want the physical street address but how will he receive paperwork from the embassy eventually when it is time for his interview?

Does anyone know the answer to this question? Do we put the mailing (PO Box) address or the physical (street) address?

Thank you so much!

My wife is petitioning me, I'm currently living in Saudi Arabia and in this country they are all using PO BOX addresses and that's what I put in my G-325A forms and I-130.
