Ok I am not ready to post a full review because my brain is mush and I am exhausted, haven't slept much in 3 days! but I will let you know what happened yesterday after dropping off the medical results.

The guy @ Window B took my medical results that were in a sealed envelope that said U.S Consulate Do Not Open, he did not take the chest x ray. That thing was a pain to carry around! You will also get your vaccination records in an envelope to keep for yourself signed off by the Dr. Anyways, the guy @ Window B said oh you are going to have to come back tomorrow to see the interviewer.

I told him no, yesterday at my interview she specifically said when I drop off the results to ask to see her as she may have to "re-interview" me and "we'll talk." So I sat for about 10-15 minutes before I was called up by the same lady interviewer I had on Tuesday. I also gave them documents that I had printed out related to the laws in the jurisdication that the conviction happened. When I got to the window, just as I had thought she told me that she didn't have time all day to research what the maximum penalty was because she was very busy. But being that I had already looked it up and brought it with me, she brought out her highlighter and we went over it together. So she started typing into her computer the sections of the law that pertained to my conviction, the class and the max jail sentence or fine. She also added what my fine was and I served no jail time. She seemed like she was in a good mood (probably because I did her job for her..lol) She said this is more than you had to do for the circumstances in your case, and I am very impressed that you are so proactive about this. She also brought up again that she was suprised that she could not find any record of the conviction in her "databases." I was also suprised too, as it happened in the U.S. and I told her that every time I went to visit my fiance after being on the F-1 visa I was asked if I had ever been arrested and always answered yes, but I had never asked the guards if they could "see" that information as I do not know what they have access to. She then said this is something you will need to remember for later, this is not a crime of moral turpitude, and began typing that into her computer, she also had brought out her handbook of visa ineligibilities to cross reference it. She then said, well I left your case open from yesterday as I did not deny you, the guy from Window B came by to drop something off to her and she then said I am getting ready to close her case, he lets out a big smile, as do I!! She then said come and pick it up tomorrow and thank you for being so proactive!

So I went back to Window B after she dropped the file off and the guy said just to come back tomorrow, did not give me a letter of authorization to come back to the consulate. I received my original birth certificate back and also my court record as the interviewer made a copy for her to highlight and make notes on to keep in my file.

So after 2 pm today I will be able to pick up the Visa, pending that there won't be any more issues or AP. *crosses fingers*

Nik+Heather- I am planning to do POE around the same time as you as our wedding is planned for October 10th.

Hey guys! No I didn't forget about you! When I attempted to post the internet that I was using lost connection and I needed to get going! Anyways, so after 2 days of completely freaking out and being very upset about how the interview went, today after the medical and dropping off the results, the visa will be ready for pickup tomorrow @ 2pm. I will believe it when I actually have it in my hand though as i am scared that it could still end up in AP. I will post an explanation and review of how things went after tomorrow, way too tired and it has been a very long and very early start to the day. At this point I am being cautiously optimistic.

I called DOS to find out if VAC had sent out an (Packet 4) interview letter, now I am just waiting patiently for the mail to come!LOL! Also found out the interview date.

Minnew:
Thanks for posting the number. Called today and found out her interview date is Thursday June 18th. Counting on you to let me know the details for your interview.

Your welcome! *The pressure is on* LOL. I hear its the easiest part of the whole process if you have your documents in order and everything accounted for. I will be doing it a bit backwards though because my interview is on a Tuesday and my medical won't be until Wednesday, so at the earliest I can't submit the results until after 2 on Wednesday.

I'm so ecstatic. Okay, but now what? I haven't gotten the letter visa post yet (was sent yesterday). So, what are the next steps? Do I need to send anything back prior to it getting sent to NVC? or do I send something to NVC before it is sent to the US Embassy in Sydney? Or do I just send everything all to my fiance? Sorry-- I'm just trying to figure out what I need to do so I can make sure that we can keep moving quickly with this.

BTW-- what do you guys think for an Aug 14th wedding if I just got NOA2? Is that too close? I noticed that everyone elses steps are moving along very quickly.

I'm so nervous and excited!

Annie

I would give it about a week before calling NVC to see if your petition arrived from USCIS. In the meantime I would take a look at the consulate website to see if there is any information regarding the processing of fiance visa petitions or if they have posted packet 3 to download from the website. You can start looking at the forms that your fiance will need to fill out. Start getting together the copy of the I-129F packet that you sent in and the I-134 with supporting documents and send that to your fiance for the interview after you know NVC has forwarded the petition to Australia. Sometimes police certificates take a while as well, so your fiance can apply for that, especially if he or she has lived in another country besides Australia. Again depending on the country you can also book your medical as long as you know your consulate case number, some need an actual interview letter.

The K-1 guide on VJ has a good breakdown of what to do after NOA2 as well.

I would take a peek at the regional forums and see how fast Australia sets interview dates, it really depends. You could most definitely make it by August if the consulate schedules things quickly and NVC does not hold onto your petition for AP.

the US embassy in Paris wants applicant to communicate via fax. do you think, i can fax them and ask them when they will send me the packet 3?

i am not yet desperated, but i prefer to know in advance.

You could maybe do that, or, the USC could call DOS here in the States and I think find out that way as well..

Try finding timelines from France and see how long it took to recieve Packet 3?

rite.

in fact, it took for some case i have checked lately, 10 to 15 days. I am reaching the 15 days now. that's why I am thinking to try to reach them. Or my fiancé. so apparently my fiancé is in better to do it.

and i don't know what is DOS?

any they made a mistake on my birthday which is now also at the us embassy...now i am not born on the 14th...but on the 15th. Go figure...one day younger! tongue.gif apparently it bothered them that I was born on valentine's day.wink.gif. maybe they thought it was a joke..a frenchy born on that day was a way too cliché to be real. rofl.gif .and when i called the NVC, and they said my birthday date was wrong! ohmy.gif and i doubled check on all the forms we send...no mistake there,
and i said "as far as i know, i know where i am born..." sad.gif

anyway, they couldn't correct it, the petition was already on its way when they received a copy of my passport via email thanks to my fiancé, and took it into consideration. So I or my fiancé have to get it corrected asap, i guess, too.

and well, i am happpy for you, who are almost at the end of the tunnel!

Department of State Visa Specialist will be able to tell you if your Packet 3 has been sent out to you by the consulate in France, you just need your France case number. QUESTION~~~

on saturday i recieved a letter from NVC saying they recieved our approved I-129F (k-1) petition and will be forwarding it to our foreign consulate in a week.
(the confusion between the NOA2 and NVC letter is b/c i was on vacation, so my mother read me the letter, i just assumed it was the NOA2, but upon returning home and looking at letter, it does not look like NOA1 AT ALL)

this is how i found out we were approved
i have yet to receive any paper NOA2 or had the status reflect it online.

we will need this paper NOA2 for AOS and the interview correct?!?!?
what should i do?

Yes I think just a copy of it for the interview and AOS. I guess check the mail again to make sure and if not I would call USCIS to get them to send you another copy of NOA2. They may try to charge you for it though.

Congratulations! The dogs had a long trip up to SK, but at least it is getting closer to spring time in Canada and they didn't struggle too much. biggrin.gif

No interview yet. We hit a SNAFU! She thought she had her police report from Belarus, but she doesn't have it. She needed the police report in order to get her Canadian work visa.

She is supposed to call the Belorussian embassy in Ottawa and find out how long it will take to get it. If it only takes 2 or 3 weeks we will send in the checklist, otherwise we will have to hold off.

Hahaha yeah the dogs were probably hungry!

The only 2 things we are waiting for is my new passport, which should be here by the end of the week and Brad's bank letter, which if it does take 6 weeks will still be here in time for the interview (I hope), he just got the IRS transcripts yesterday. I can't complete the DS-156 without my new passport because its a different passport number! Arggh! Everything else is filled out and ready to go! I have to get a tetanus booster next week *gulp*,

I am NOT sure when it arrived, he has been away since Friday in Wales. I would think that probably today.

What is packet 3?? I'm making sure that we've got everything organized in advance... other than the I-134 & documentation, continued letter of intent, and pictures/evidence of an on-going relationship, is there anything else that I should haved filled out already? Aren't we supposed to wait on the police report and medical until everything is at the US embassy in the other country???

I got packet 3 letter today! Letter dated April 3rd, postmarked April 7th!

ALB2009..depending on what your consulate sends out as packet 3 or in Vancouver's case they send out a letter that says go to the consulate website to download the checklist. Some of the other forms may or may not be the DS-230, DS-156 or DS-156K, or DS-160 depending on what your consulate requires.

I am hoping mine will arrive tomorrow! Steve&Shannon and EasyT got theirs already from Vancouver! But I am in SK and there was no mail for 4 days due to Easter long weekend!Grrr....anywhos anybody get an interview date yet? I am pretty much ready to fax the checklist to VAC, and then I should know within a day what it will be as they schedule it right away and I can email them! I am hoping for an interview at the end of May, one never knows, but what gets me is that the US consulate in Canada gets US and Canadian holidays. So there is 2 mondays shot in May already due to Victoria day and Memorial day! and in that week of Victoria day holiday they are closed on Wednesday due to the 3rd wednesday of every month being staff development day! Arggh!! and oh yes they were closed Good Friday and Easter Monday as well! Anyways thats my rant of the day, its Monday and overall it has been a crappy day for me.

The reason that the I-134 is not listed on Packet 3 is because it isn't part of packet 3....you take it to the interview in person smile.gif
I understand it is for the interview! Packet 3 is the checklist outlining the requirements for the interview that the beneficiary must assemble prior to faxing their request for an interview. The previous version of the Packet 3 checklist on the VJ Vancouver Consulate Information Page had both requirements for immunizations and the requirement for an I-134. Both these previous requirements are currently omitted on the downloadable Packet 3 checklist on the Vancouver Consulate Website.
Yeah it used to be listed on the checklist as "Evidence of Support" which had the I-134 and OF-167, I wonder what happened to the OF-167 form too?

Hey guys! How is everyone doing? Glad to see people's petition passed through NVC woo hoo! Well I just got in from NE, I am jet lagged, depressed and tired! So busy wedding planning (we set a date for October!!!!) and getting stuff ready for the interview while I was there! It was so hard to say goodbye, cray5ol.gif knowing that it will be a while before I see him again, if he comes to see me this summer, but the only thing consoling me is that we should have an interview date soon and that will be the last time I go to NE to see him as a visitor. Now that I am back in SK I can stalk the mailbox for a letter from Vancouver! LOL!

My fiance called for his IRS tax transcripts and they said that 2008 would not be available until AUGUST!! So we are getting 05, 06, 07 and made a copy of the 08 return and W-2. He was told 10-15 business days, but I heard some people say as little as 6 days after ordering. He also called his bank (USAA) about the bank letter, first he told me that it would take 3 months to get, because he has had to have one in the past for work, but more detailed. (My heart dropped) So he called today and was told 6-8 weeks!! wacko.gif Maybe thats just to cover their butts! LOL I hope not! Do you think we could get by in the interview with out the bank letter? Vancouver usually schedules 4-6 weeks in advance depending on if you have a preferred day of the week, maybe i could hold off sending in Pkt 3? I just really want this interview done and over with already!!! We will have tax information, letter of intent, letter from his employer, and recent pay stubs.

Anyways, I will stop rambling now and get some sleep!

Wow that is amazing to see all of the packages shipped out to the different embassies and consulates. Ok. So Marie K signed for it on April 1st hopefully are packages are in there. I am glad some of our money is well spent on DHL overnight delivery. biggrin.gif

Tehehe! Its great isn't it? Doesn't take quite as long to get to Canada as it does other countries! We got the NVC letter in the mail today stating that they received our petition, with VAC case number! Woo hoo!!

The NVC checks different databases is my understanding....some people get hooked, others don't...

Also, the letter from the NVC arrived today saying it was received and sent on to London. Not much later than it was received...and right on the day that I had predicted that I would hear from them. Darn impatience!

How did you do the DHL tracking? You asked for them for the DHL tracking number?
Hopefully the package is in Vancouver today or tomorrow, and my GF gets package 3 next week. Fingers crossed.

NVC received our petition on March 27th and it was sent to Vancouver yesterday March 30th!! Woohoo! My fiance thought I was nuts when I was jumping on the bed all giddy when he was on the phone with NVC!! By the time I get to Canada next Monday hopefully my Pkt 3 will be on its way!!! kicking.gif

So....any luck tracking? I'm not sure those tracking tips help when the day before is a Sunday...

Yes, I finally broke down and called NVC a couple days earlier than I said I would. blush.gif I'm a little surprised that I managed to hold out a whole 2 weeks after it was mailed out from CSC though. Same story as Andrea though, received March 27 (Friday) and sent out March 30 (Monday). However, I read somewhere that sometimes they say on the phone it was sent out when it's really stuck in AP, so I'll believe it when I see the mailed hard copy (Will start looking for that at the end of the week)... But she gave me an LND#, so medical can be scheduled etc.

Tehehe haven't tracked the DHL yet, but that reminds me...LOL... When I called NVC I got a VAC# so I am assuming it was sent to Vancouver! I wish I could schedule my medical sad.gif , that all depends on the interview date *grumbles* !! We still haven't got the hard copy in the mail from NVC that says its been received, hopefully tomorrow.

Yeah it is silly that K-1's are not automated at NVC, its not really stated on VJ anywhere in the guides as far as I could see, but just browse around the NVC sub-forum.

Did NVC give you your VAC#? or did you have to cal DOS?? I am not really excited about having to complete medical and interview all in one shot because the only doctor left in western canada to do the medicals is in Vancouver and costs $350!! Thank goodness my cousin lives in Burnaby, or else it would be 3 nights hotel AND a flight to Vancouver!! wacko.gif Did I mention I have a wedding and AOS to pay for? LOL. wacko.gif

Just got the letter in the mail from NVC stating that they received the packet, assigned the VAC Case Number, and were sending it on to the Vancouver Consulate within 10 days. The letter was dated March 27th. I had been calling NVC for the automated updates to no avail, even up to today. They had no record of the case... Proves Laura may be right.

Either way we're one step closer. Hope everyone else flies through the rest of the process too!

Sweet! I hope mine was in that batch too!! Did you press 5 to speak to a live operator at NVC? K-1's are not part of the automated system.

I have called NVC twice, once they told me its not there and it takes 2-4 weeks to receive them, the second time they told me 4-6 weeks!! blink.gif I tried calling today but it was busy ALL DAY!! I wonder if you call USCIS they would be able to tell you if its been mailed to NVC? I am just so anxious, I want to get this interview over already! I should be safe setting a wedding date? At least the venues said that if we put down a deposit it can be rescheduled if October doesn't work out! Arrggh!
