I think it might be the same situation with the k3 because I checked out the timeline averages and that seems to be standard, unless it goes through Administrative Processing, which is what I think you were referring to with the random security checks. that definitely gives me knowledge though, so thank you!!

Hello everyone!! I love hearing about these recent approvals, it's spectacular! I just got our letter approval notice today that says our petitions have been sent to the NVC, but I am not sure how long it takes to reach the consulate once they have it...anyone know?

As for my main question, I would like to see how this military status situation works for my husband, he is 22 and has not had to serve in the military yet, but does he need an exemption notice when he goes into his interview for the visa? How does that work? Is it difficult to go and request exemption? Let me know if anyone has info., would be greatly appreciated as always!! thanks guys!! good.gif

Well its called (political Refuse).really they will not take him , All my friends been to the army and they tell me about everything there , they tell them to make 2 lines , the guys whom are married to foreign citizens or have anyone in their family out side egypt come to the right line and the rest to the left line .

then they fill some papers and then give him another date to come. in that date they will tell him one of 2 delayed or refused to enter the army and because he is living in the US for 2 years , he will 100000% be rejected .

and i just wanna know if he is muslim or chrisitian if i may ask.


He is Christian. Does that make a big difference? Let me guess, it will be a higher chance sa7?

well, let me tell you this in easy way , its one of 3 .

1st : come back and show them that he lives in the US and they wont take him anyways because they dont take who is married to any foreign person and who even been to a foreign countries before .

2- wait till he get he citizenship then come by his US passport

3- come after he get 30.


But Sam, I think that they will still take him anyway, even if he has a whole life in the US. I remember the government in Egypt does not care about anyone, even if they are married to a foreign citizen. If they know that, they will take him anyway. How do you know about the first option? That is absolutely terrible!! The paperwork you are talking about...are these papers for the Egyptian Army or papers to fill out on the US side? Also, I have heard that the army can be paid off. Do you know of anyone that has done that? Also, if he applies for citizenship, they cannot take him, correct?

Hello everyone, I need your help. My husband has his green card at this time. When we began the immigration process to get his visa, the Egyptian army granted him permission to travel because he had a medical excuse delaying his education, which means he was still "in school" at the time. It has been about 2 years and he hasn't sent the school anything to continue the delay. My question is, if we were to travel back to Egypt to see his family, could the Egyptian Army take him if he is a Permanent Resident?

Hello everyone, I love this site, it gives a lot of comfort for those long distances. I'm new to this site, but I have been reading a lot of the helpful posts here. I'm Heather, and I'm wanting to bring my Egyptian fiance to the US via k1 or k3. My first question: which is faster? I have heard mixed comments about K1 being faster than K3...but I am not sure. Also, I am a recent college graduate and he is still in school in Egypt. I am currently seeking out a job and definitely need that steady income for the I-129...if I do get that job...is it ok that I just started working and I file as soon as I begin looking, or do they need a couple solid years with that same company? I really hope not. Thank you in advance for all your feedback and I look forward to the process at hand! :help:


If you have a sponsor or co-sponsor in the U.S. who will help, like your parents, then you won't have to worry about the financial part so much.

Somebody else might be able to tell you how to use a co-sponsor with the I-134.

I'm along way from my citizenship path, but our interviewer today at our (successful) AOS interview stated that in 3 years I can apply for US citizenship, but had to inform me that although the US recognized dual citizenship, the UK does not.

From what I had read in this forum and other sites, I thought both US and UK recognized dual citizenship - I wasn't about to argue with the interviewer - was just so happy that he granted the 10 year greencard!

Any thoughts?

Interview in Tampa today. Approved!! Said I would receive Oath date in the mail within a couple of weeks.

Very informal ... interview was scheduled for 10:10am - Actually called around 10:15am - was back in vehicle by 10:40am.

Questions asked were:

What is the "rule of law"
What is the name of the National anthem
Which ocean is on the west coast of the United States
How old do citizens have to be to vote for President
Why does the flag have 13 stripes
What major event happened on September 11, 2001 in the United States

I need to add my check was cashed yesterday 6.2.11 and I received notification today (email) 6.3.11.

My husband's I-751 has just been approved and the notice stated that he should receive his new green card in a couple of weeks. So now what? A green card doesn't mean he's a U.S. citizen. What do we do next in order to get him his citizenship? Is there a waiting period to file other documentation for this after the conditions have been removed via the I-751 filing? Also, he has family members he's wanting to get residency for. They are in the U.S. illegally. Can he do this with his green card or does he have to wait for actual citizenship? Any information will help!!TIA

Hey guys! thanks so much for are your prior help. I would just like to know typically how long it takes to get the NOA2 from both I-130 and I-129F?? I got NOA1 from I-130 about 4 months ago and the I-129F about 3 months ago. I have not been touched since I received the NOA1. Should I contact the USCIS? A couple other questions:

- When should I send the affidavit of support? When does that come into play?

- When should my husband start collecting information for packet 3?

It was almost like Christmas today, after all the uncertainty about if they would ever touch those forms again, they approved both the I129F and I130 at the same time!!! I was jumping around everywhere lol...Now, I have to ask, for those of you who have gotten through most of the process, about how long does it take to get the interview at this point? What is usually the next step, I haven't yet received the instructions for what is to happen, have not received the hard copies of the approvals, just the email notice that they are sending the letter. YAY...and I wish you all to have the same luck!!!!!!!!!! kicking.gif

Hello everyone! In some of my previous posts, some of you mentioned a shortcut that cuts out about a month of wait time before the NVC receives the case. If anyone knows how this works, please share! I just need to know how or if there are any guides that have been posted before. Also, does it work for all the visas? I have a K3. Just received my NOA2 yesterday. thanks for all your help, all of you are so helpful and helping me maintain my sanity!! LOL.
