K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAm confused

Hi guys am new to vj am so happy I found this site just makes it easier knowing am not alone in this process here in us (tx) ..am waiting on my NOA2 fingers crossed it's nerve wrecking ..I have a question .. WHEN DO is the VISA FEE paid ? Before the interview and to who ?? Am so stressed and confused man I hope I don't get an RFE I miss my fiancé so much ....it's been over 3 months since I filed no news from TSC They need to hurry this process up lol .. Thanks again and good luck to all who are waiting
Ps my fiancé is in BOSNIA I can't change the consulate for some reason

It is paid on the day of the interview, at the embassy. They will call his name and tell him to come to one of the windows to have his fingerprints taken and then to another window to make a payment. I remember there was some issue so I couldn't pay with my debit card, luckily I brought enough cash with me too. Tell him to make sure to have enough cash because that seems to be the safest way to make the payment.

So it's $265 for visa what if he fails is it refundable ?then again if they need more info he would need to go back and provide needed docs so ..It seems hard from Bosnia to get over to us they decline so many people for the smallest things like u have to be precise how many days fiancé was there etc ..can they decline k1visa for no good reason ?? Sorry am all over the place am just worried ..

That's not the experience I had at all. My interview lasted less than 10 minutes and the CO didn't ask for one single document from my US fiance (now husband), not even the I-134. It was more like a friendly chat, people catching up after not seeing each other for a while :) The embassy might be strict when it comes to other types of visas but from my experience and experience of other beneficiaries from Bosnia I've met through VJ, K1 is not that hard to obtain if your relationship to the petitioner is genuine and if it is, of course you'll know the answers to the questions you're asked, including the one about how long he/she stayed when they visited.

Good luck to you and try to relax a little bit, I know it's hard but this is a waiting game and there is no other way to deal with all this but by learning how to be patient :)

From what I know, the wife if the USC.

Is the wife the USC or is the husband the USC?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresquestion about the differences years

Ona = she. So she is 20 years older and has children.

The beneficiary should prepare a lot of evidence of bona fide relationship for the interview. As long as they can prove that their relationship is genuine, they shouldl be ok, unless there are other red flags in their relationship that we are unaware of.

they have lots of pictures of girls wedding and tako.ona is older and has children.     he has no children came 3 times a year in Bosnia until they are married when they are married is no longer able to process visa applications............talking on Skype for 2 hours a day Viber also remanded the most better evidence for them

Yes it can vary, but in general you only need your most recent tax transcript, letter from employer and/or most recent pay stub(s).

Thank you!!!

Hi,

what is needed for the k1 interview at the US embassy together with the I-134 form, tax returns for last year or 3 last years? Does that vary from consulate to consulate?

Thanks in advance

Anyone? Please :)

Thanks

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSkype Logs

J and I have been together for 3 years now but I only have logs for the last year. For some reason, last year this time all our FB conversation history disappeared and then I got a new laptop in November 2012 and have MSN/skype logs since then. J never saves chat logs/history :(

Is one year gonna be enough? We do have FB friendship timeline which shows messages from 3 years ago.

I'm so sorry to hear that! You didn't get any RFEs? Have you tried calling CSC?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProof of relationship

The way I would do (and will do for my interview) the email thing is the following:

Put them all in one folder and then take a screenshot or print page(s) that show who sent the emails, subject and dates. I don't think they really care about the contents of those emails, they just want to see continuous contact between the two of you over extended periods of time.

But lost_at_sea is right, primary evidence is far more important.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRefile or Appeal?

Wow... that sucks. It's really weird because there are so many people here who only got RFEs for that. I don't know why in your case they went so far to flat out deny your petition :(

Good luck with refiling and I really hope it will go smoothly this time!

PerditaDNot TellingBosnia-Herzegovina2013-08-12 11:22:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRefile or Appeal?

They don't normally deny petitions because of one forgotten document - they send an RFE (request for further evidence) so make sure to check your packet thoroughly before filing again to make sure that you included everything else that is required.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresExtending NOA2

I have no idea how the US consulate in your country resolved some issue like this. But, what I read from another post here, some VJer did her sputum test and it was positive. She had to wait for 6 months for medication and after that she went to interview after her result was negative. She got approved after that. My advise is contact the US consulate in your country. Usually they will automatically extend the validation of I-129F approval when you showing them intend pursuing your K-1 visa. Good luck!

Thank you, will do that!! :)

Did they send you packet 3 or instruction regarding your K-1 visa application?

Yes they did, about 3 weeks ago.

Our NOA2 is valid til December 21st and I don't think I'll be ready by them - I have some medical issues that I'm working on; that will take at least 2-3 more months. Do I need to write to my consulate to extend or do they do it automatically? Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAddress change just prior to entering the US
Hi everyone, I'm moving to the states in less than two weeks but my fiancee moved to a new address a few weeks ago so the address listed on our file is now different. How do we update it this late in the process? I read somewhere that they are very strict now with addresses so everything has to be updated and correct. What do we do? Any help or advice is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of Support - Proof

Hi!

First of all, good luck with the interview!

As for proof of support, I brought last 3 tax returns, w-2, letter from employer, several pay stubs, I-134, all that just in case. They say in most cases you only need your last tax return, but bring 3 last just to be sure.

Also, it's important to know where the interview will be because different consulates ask for different things.

The CO that interviewed me didn't ask to see any of the things I brought to prove my then fiance could sponsor me, not even the I-134.

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHELP!! Forgot to enter Social Security number I-129F (petitioner)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think when a petition is rejected right away, they don't cash the check. Again, I'm not sure but I think that's what I've read here on the forum. It's a different story when the petition is denied.

What's done (or not done) can't change at this time.

So don't worry too much.

With little bit of luck, they will catch your SSN from the other doc.

Or they could also issue RFE to confirm the SSN,

In the worst possible case, let's say they reject right away.

Then you simply correct the document and submit it again.

Ok...it will costs you another $340 and little bit of time...but this is the worst case.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat do I include in the K1 petition that I send tot he USCIS lockbox?

Hi Kevin!

Welcome to VisaJourney :)

Other than the k1 guide link, these two are also useful:

http://www.visajourn.../content/k1flow

http://www.visajourn.../content/k1tips

There's absolutely no need to hire a lawyer, just follow the guides. This forum is also a great place full of people who've been through the process and know a lot about it so you can always find help here.

Lawyers can be useful but many members here who hired a lawyer got an RFE (request for further evidence) due to their lawyer not preparing the petition properly. It's up to you and your fiance though.

Good luck and be patient because this process can be long and frustrating :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAt the bottom of the G325a where it asks what I'm petitioning for do I write K1 Visa or I-129f?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical expiring before the travel date?

You will know the expiration date of your visa when you actually receive your passport with the visa stamped in it. My visa was valid for 6 months after my interview, which was listed on the visa as issued date.  My interview was February 19th, my visa was valid until August 18th. My medical was done 2 weeks before the interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures-=-=-=-=-=- Airport Documents -=-=-=-=-=-

They asked me just some basic questions, like my full name, my fiance's name, his date of birth, my date of birth, where he lives, what he does, what my last job was, if i had any kids, if my fiance had any kids... They asked some questions 2 times I guess to check if I'll give them the same answer :) i think it also helped that he traveled with me because they also asked me where he was at that moment, i told them in the USC line :) It was really so much easier than I thought it would be

my p.o.e is chicago o'hare too, and my flight is tomorrow, what r the questions they asked u?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures-=-=-=-=-=- Airport Documents -=-=-=-=-=-

My PoE was Chicago O'Hare and it was really easy and short. My then fiance was with me on the plane, but after we landed he went to the US citizen line and I went to the Immigration line. It was late, after 8pm. There were only 2 other people in the entire immigration area. When it was my turn, the IO asked for my passport and the purpose of my trip. I gave him the passport and the sealed envelope, he unsealed it, went through my file, asked me several questions, took my fingerprints and took a photo of me. That was it. I was done in less than 10 minutes.

It's best if you look up your fiancee's PoE reviews here on Visa Journey, I believe you'll find some useful tips there :)

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSending I-129F tomorrow, looking for feedback/peace of mind

It seems like you got everything covered! Plenty of proof there! Was intent to marry dated too?

I don't think you should worry about leaving something blank and writing none or N/A in other spots - both our G-325A forms were like that, including the I-129f, we didn't get a RFE.

The waiting game starts now so try to be patient and keep yourself busy. It's a long and tiring process but sooooo worth the wait and sacrifices :)

Wish you all the best on your journey!

If your fiance was older than 16 at the time of living in Spain, yes, you need police records from there too.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSub for Letter of Intent

They normally do send a RFE for that. Maybe a letter from your pastor will help, but you can't know for sure. What I'd do is have your fiance send a letter of intent to you now and in case you get a RFE in a few months, you'll have the letter by then.

Also, please  :time: it helps others a lot :)

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhen do we have to File for AOS ???

The sooner, the better. Once your 90 days indicated on your I-94 expire, you will be out of legal status. There is no strict limit to apply for AOS (some have applied months or even years after the wedding), but the sooner you apply, the sooner you'll get your EAD and AP because til then you won' be able to work or won't be able to re-enter the country if you decide to travel abroad.

I've been out of status for a month and a half myself and won't be able to apply for AOS til end of October and I'm not too worried :)

Get her I-94 form from here

https://i94.cbp.dhs....nb9j!2005623825

She'll only need that and her passport and a form she'll fill out at the SSA office. I submitted a request for a SSN within two weeks of arriving to the US and then waited for it for less than a week.

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes beneficiary have to have LAND to be approved ?

They might ask for something like that when you apply for a B1/B2 visa, as a tie to your home country, proof that you will be coming back. Having a house or land is irrelevant for K1 :)
