TaraAhmed786, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but realistically speaking the shortest amount I have seen is atleast 3+/- months from start to end. With god in mind, anything is possible and I hope you get to that family wedding.

Best of luck.

Because it's the date the lockbox gets the package that counts, not when it was sent.

It's the other way around. The date the package was send that counts hence the "Sent" heading

Hi. I just got an rfe (yellow letter) after being scheduled for interview. They are asking me to bring my state ID to interview? Did anyone get an rfe like this?

That is normal like Gboree stated. You should be getting your Interview appointment letter shortly if you haven't received it yet.

Sorry for the confusion. I posted this in the K1 Forum, so I didn't think to specify!

It is my fault, I didn't see that this thread was started under K1 Forum and therefore you did not need to specify, I apologize.

Ah, title said "How many of you were 'required' to go to the interview?" .. you didn't specify the type of visa, so I thought it would be all visas.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow many of you were "required" to go to the interview?
Does it have to be a petitioner who has to accompany the beneficiary to the interview (which I understand is not a requirement but it adds some kind of credibility) or can it be beneficiary's own sibling who is a US citizen and who happens to be petitioner's son?

Petitioner is the father, beneficiary is the daughter (who is well over the age limit) but the petitioner is in the US while the daughter is outside of the US awaiting her interview, petitioner's son or beneficiary's brother (who is a US citizen) happens to be with her..

Hope this makes sense.

2 suitcases for clothes etc and then I sold/gave away almost everything else. I have some things that I will eventually need/want to ship but for now mum stores them.

We did the same thing. Gave everything away and taking two suitcases of clothes. Let go of the past and move forward. You'll feel better when you start fresh. And it's less stressful. God bless

A quick question for you: Did you notify the embassy before you went that you'd be attending with him (and if so, how?) or did you just show up on the day and hope to be let in?

You have to call the embassy and they will give you a code to put in the subject box to email the consulate. The number is on the uk embassy site. I emailed them about two months ago asking to be put on he list to attend as his wife.

We have tried using multiple email addresses. Has this happened with anyone else ???? If so, what can we do? We need to pay the fee befor we leave for the states next week.

Pictures,  and more emails than they want to look at I'm sure (18,000+) I also printed phone records from the day we started talking in 2011.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHelp! Received RFE after 4 weeks

Hello everyone!

My fiancee and I send in our I-129F at the end of July and we got the NOA1 on August 2nd.

Today I checked the Status on the USCIS webside and it said that -an RFE was send on August 30th, but no Mail or message.

To add a bit more Background: I am a german citizen, working in Hong Kong and will leave there by June next year.

My questions now:

- Do I have to be worried that the RFE came so fast?

- What could I possibly expect?

We did try everything to make the package as clear as possible when I came to evidence etc.

I visited her 6 times in LA already and she came to HK three times, so now I am really worried about it.

I would thank you so much for any help or adivce!!! :)

Greetings, Michael

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCo-Sponsor Question

Hello,

I have a question concerning the co-sponsor process.

How does this process actually work? Do I file two I-134 at the embassy (fiancée and co-sponsor)? or just the one of the sponsor?

To give you a little background: My fiancée is currently still a student and makes just a little income of a part-time job. Her mom would be willing to cover us with an income meeting all requirements for the support as well as a savings account.

The embassy handling my case will be in Hong Kong, they state that they do accept co-sponsors. I am a German citizen and will live here until June of 2014. Then I intend to the states.

We had our NOA1 on August 2nd.

Thank you all for your help!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed help with RFE evidence

Hello everyone,

As I just received my RFE, I have a few questions regarding the evidence that is being requested.

So, as stated in the letter they want more evidence about the circumstands under which we met.

My fiancée and I met in Paris, France and have pictures and certificates from our school to show it, yet they seem to want more. Also, they want proof of having met within the last two years.

After preparing a good amount of evidence, which included around 20 airline subs (on flights taken together) and hotel stays in Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, France, US, etc, I was wondering if some minor evidence (i.e. a receipt of a doctor visit of her in my town in germany) would need to be translated into English?

Also, since this is my first time, what do I need to watch out for when sending the response back? Does anyone have any experience about an RFE requesting more evidence about under which circumstands you met?

Thank you all very much for your help and greetings from Hong Kong,

Mike

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBlue Sheet Question - After K1 Interview

Thank you very much for the information, that helped a lot!

Also, does it madder if my I-129F was approved on 2.Oct.2013 and will expire on 2.Feb.2014? Will I need to send in the medical before that? or is that not of importance as of now?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBlue Sheet Question - After K1 Interview

Hello everyone,

I just finished my interview at the HK-Emabssy and everything went well (or at least I think so).

The officer had everything checked off, including sponsors, police certificates, translations etc.

Here was the problem: As I am currently on a trainee program (state-funded) I can not leave Hong Kong until the 30.June.2014.

Reviewing the medical exam, they said that I have to enter the states until 25.June.2014.

When I told them that this would not be possible, they gave me a blue sheet to take the medical exam again and therefore extend the expiration further.

I was also told that I have one year to send everything back.

My questions:

- Is it really one year valid or does the date on the approved I-129F madder?

- Is there anything important I need to remember?

- Is it likely to get denied even at this stage now?

There was nothing mentioned about any other concerns or questions about my case, my fiancee was even waiting in front of the embassy (she is visiting) to proof our point! dancin5hr.gif

Thank you all very much for your help,

Greetings from Hong Kong!

USCIS Service CentersLost/Stolen Green Card; Travelling

The Alien Number is in your passport... it is likely to be on anything sent to you by USCIS. you cannot leave it out because you have one which would make your application incomplete hence rejected.

Thanks for the reply again,

There isn't any Alien Number in my passport but like I said earlier, I do have the immigration visa that has been issued to me by the embassy and the same visa that is used to enter the United State legally. When I looked at the immigration visa was issued to me, I see Registartion number and another number that has the letter A followed by couple of numbers but it seems that, that alphanumeric doesn't look like my green card alphanumeric cause I do remember that my green card alien number starts with 8.

Do I have any chances with this immigration visa that has both Axxxxxxxx (where x = numbers) and registration number?

RICARDO4EVA2,

Thank you for your speedy reply and thank you for welcoming me -- obviously I'm not going to walk in with an empty hand, I'm going to file I-90. What evidence do you think is needed (other than my SS card) since that's all I got?

Forgot to mention that as a result of me losing the most valuable document for a non-citizen, I failed to write down the alien number if anything like this was to happen. I therefore do not have the alien number but with the help of a SS card (which I do have) they should reveal everything about me, correct? My address, license #, address etc. Should I leave the alien number part out on the I-90?

Welcome and enjoy.

start off that your SS card, DL (any) and expired IV does nothing and cannot help to establish residency. You said you are going to pay for the biometrics..? Have you completed/filed the Form I-190 to replace the card..? Going into the service center with nothing filed will be a waste of time.

USCIS Service CentersLost/Stolen Green Card; Travelling
Hi,

If this is not the right section, please move it to the right place. Thank you.

I'm new here and I do apologize if the topic title has been asked before. I relocated to a new apartment and as a result I lost my green card, on top of that I'm suppose to travel in 2 weeks time. My closest office to me is Los Angeles and I haven't made an appointment yet (Today is Saturday). My question is that, the payment fees for biometric and since I already have a green card which is now lost, do I need to pay the biometric fee knowing that I had a green card at one point? I don't have my approval notice letter, can I go into the office without it hoping that they might pull it up from their system? The only evidence I do have is my immigrant visa that was issued (by the US Embassy) couple of years back.

The evidence I have (all together) is: Driver License, government-issued ID, Immigrant Visa, social security card. With these evidence would that be enough to start the application for I-551?

Lastly, how long does the process take in Los Angeles (USCIS) from start until the day I get the green card in the mail?

Thank you for reading and I look forward to reading your comments.

Thanks again.

US Citizenship General DiscussionWhen is my filing date? This process is new to me.

Are you filing based on the 3-year rule (marriage to US Citizen)? If so, you can file 90 days (not 3 months) before your third GC anniversary. If the date on your GC is 03/21/2008, then you could have filed as early as 12/22/2010. If, instead, you are filing based on the general 5-year rule, your earliest filing date will be 90 days (not 3 months) before your fifth GC anniversary. In this case, it will be 12/22/2012.

90 days (not 3 months)? I'm not trying to be an idiot as I appreciate your speedy reply.. but 3 months == ~90 days. Does the 3-month rule apply?

I'm filing based on the 5-year non-marriage route. What happens if your file on 09/22/2012 knowing that 12/22/2012 is going to delay our process because of all the holidays inbetween (Christmas and New Year).. would that be considered too early? What's the worst case scenario? That I have to pay twice?

US Citizenship General DiscussionWhen is my filing date? This process is new to me.
Sorry if this question is a bit noobish, if it is... I would like to apologize beforehand as this process is all new to me.

I received my Green Card on 03/21/2008. According to the USCIS Filing Date Calculator, it says my earliest filing date would be on 12/22/2011 based on the previous input which was 03/21/2008 (same day I received my GC) on Permanent resident 3 or 5 year anniversary date field. Am I doing it right? If so and if the earliest filing date was accurate than why did few people told me that I have to file my N400 application papers 6 month before the anniversary of my GC, which would be 09/21/2012 (5 days ago) or 3 months.

If I went about the wrong way using the filing date calculator then do I have to use the 6-month rule or 3-month rule? If it's 6-months then I can go ahead and file my N400 application along with the payment.

Hope this clears things up,

Thank you.

US Citizenship General DiscussionMultiple N400 filing fee
Good day,

As the topic states, I have 3 forms of N400.. all 3 are my immediate family member. My question is that if I'm going to file all three of the N400 at the same time, hopefully tomorrow in the middle of my work day.. do I need to send them a big (single) check in the amount of $2,040 or do I have to break it down into 3 checks of $680. If the latter, I suppose it doesn't matter if the check is under my name correct, if yes.. then how would they differentiate which check belongs with which application, do I have to write the names on the application on the back of the check?

That's all,

Thank you.

We plan to get married on July outside of US .
Is it Enought the Ticket to show the internacional Travel , because there is no way to book a ticket   without   Passport is it ?!

Well, I did book the ticket long before my oath ceremony cause I knew that the passport agency in my city does same-day passport, had an appointment and my intention was to fly out on the date that was printed on the ticket.

Unless your ticket is legit, don't do it. Once you submit your application to the passport agency officer or whoever takes your application at the agency, they will ask you to raise your right hand and swear that every information on the application is true.

The person at the passport agency that processed my application glanced at my itinerary for less than 10 seconds so I wouldn't know if they really care about whether the ticket I had was legit or not but I wouldn't risk it.

Do you have appointment with a passport agency? When do you want to book the ticket for?

My fiance will have his Oath Ceremony on 8th July.
We have some plans out US last week of July can anyone update how long are taking the proccesing for first time aplication for US PASSPORT ?!
Is there any chance to take for 10 days ??

My oath ceremony was on 26th June, I went to the Los Angeles Passport Agency on 28th June for my 8AM appointment and at 3PM I had my US Passport in hand. Of course, all of this is meaningless if you don't have an urgent reason or need for the passport such as international travel within the next 72 hours.

You can get away with not having an appointment IF your international travel is within the next 72 hours otherwise they would ask you to come back with an appointment. Different passport agency has different way of dealing with people that shows up without an appointment.

I also heard that some passport agency doesn't service same-day passport, so check with your agency.
