Once you've created an account to view your case status on the USCIS website all you have to do is click on ''My Portfolio' and the 'Last Updated' section would be where you find your 'touch date' smile.png
I'm not sure if they do the touches (or update them online) as much as they used to though.


 

Thanks for this post!  I had actually created an account there and thought I had email and text notifications, but upon logging in last night, I see that I was actually NOT signed up for this.  I've since changed that.   Sadly, my file hasn't had any activity since Feb 11th.  :(   Honestly, if I just could know that his visa would be for sure done by, say, August, at least I could start making wedding plans.  So frustrating!!  ranting33va.gif

We're hoping for an interview by June/July, and here by the beginning of August.  That'd put us right at the 6-month mark from beginning to end, and before school starts.  He has a 10-year old son he's bringing with him).  If not then, I'm not sure he'd move here before Christmas break.  It feels very up in the air, and THAT'S what makes this all so stressful.  sad.png  Also, he wants to go to a family reunion in South Africa next Mar/April, and unless he is here by, say, November, then we wouldn't be able to go from here, based on AOS and AP timelines.

Congrats, Msdynamite!!  I'd check out your embassy's review and look to see what they require from there.  Also, there are a lot of people who are always talking about the NVC and calling for a number after a certain amount of time.  Looking at those threads would be a good idea too, I think.  We've started gathering information for the paperwork he'll need for the Dublin embassy.

Sailor, I'm sure you're right.  :)  I just linked Ankara's embassy because someone made specific suggestions.  The Dublin embassy listed them individually.  I wondered if all embassies do that.  I really only checked out Ireland.  :)

Here is what Im gonna do,

after I get my NOA2 (Hopefully soon God), I will call the clinic in Turkey, give brief info about myself, and ask which vaccinations I need to get.  In this way, I won't have to get them during medical.  I think list of vaccinations may vary country bu country.

There is a specific section listed for vaccinations. 

 

What we did: My fiance is coming from Ireland (that embassy page has a specific itemized list of which vaccinations are required), but was born and raised in South Africa.  He contacted his mother in SA and had her ship a notarized record for this.  Then, because we're also including a 9 year old son, he went to his son's doctor and got a copy of his vaccinations.  Now when they go to do the medical, they will already have records for this.  In the US, we can get them from doctors, some county records offices and schools.  (If I'm not mistaken, the US has/is working on a national vaccination database.  I think my daughter's school got hers from that when we moved to California in 2009)

Does anyone else keep checking the case status website even thought you're signed up for alerts?! Haha I am addicted!! Luckily I'm going to see my Welshman in 20 days but I am still so anxious for this visa to go through!!

 

I am pretty good at forgetting it's out there.  Miraculously.  It may be because my mind is busy counting down until he's here for spring break!  :D  40 days.

Flights are very expensive.  I have been checking late at night to see if I get lucky.  I know if in the next week they do not go down, I am going to have to bite the bullet and book my flight (time 2, my son is coming with me).  Look at the bright side, you dont have to pay for your baby till he is 2 and his dad will be here by then  smile.png .  My dates are set, my little one is on spring break Thats the only time we can go till the summer. 

 

Ejai, try Momondo.com.  I have had the best luck there with international flights.  :)  good luck!  I'm expecting to head to Ireland for a nice chunk of time once this school year ends. CAN'T WAIT!

I sent ours in on Feb 1st, got an email that it'd been recieved on the 7th, and my check was also cashed that day.  I haven't gotten anything about an alien registration number being changed.  I want this done now.  ;) 

 

He'll be here for 2 weeks over spring break in April.  I'll be going to Ireland over the summer.  CAN'T WAIT!  :D  I would have never thought that he should bring anything to support the fact that he'll be flying back to Dubin at the end of April.  This site is so amazingly helpful!

I am sure this is a tired topic but I am new here :)

My Fiance and I just filed our Fiancee visa application on March 14, 2013.

I have gone to visit on April 12 and will be returning to visit on May 10th for ten days.

The first visit I have absolutely no questions from the officer.. He asked me where I was going and stamped my ticket admitted.

I thought it was quite strange that no questions were asked but now that I am going again would I have the same sort of experience? Due to being allowed in previously should I have no issues this trip?

I still don't understand how grey this topic is and it is quite stressful not knowing what is going to happen.

thanks abbey and tina and everyone else who has helped along the way!!

due to supposed crazy weather predicted for sydney this morning i got to my interview 3 hours early.  I was asked 2 questions "whats your fiances mobile number" (and that was just by the guy photocopying my papers) so not officially part of the interview and the other actual interview question was 'how did he propose?' (my fiance and i worked together in australia for 4 years) and that was that. 2 min later i was done.

The interview experience was actually very strange.  the rudest people at the consulate were all aussie staff and the young US man behind the bank teller - like booth was respectful and striaght to the point when interviewing.

 

All in all i probably stressed over it more then I should of.  I had been having nightmares the past 4 weeks ranging from my friend and i going on a crime spree the night before my interview to a death nightmare invovling a a cliff fall.. Sub conscience?

 

Now im going to start preparing my wine list purchase for when I POE into california followed by a list for michigan.  And I suppose sometime in between ill get planning a wedding.  Estimating my arrival in 2 weeks..

 

Then i can start on the next ventue of "Feb Fillers- AOS"

 

I live in California wine country.  Well, Santa Barbara county wine country.  :D

NVC Received yesterday... Now do I call back for the number? Or is it just a waiting game now?

 

Did you call the NVC to find out if they had your file?  If so, and they didn't give you your case number then, call them back and get it.  :)  At that point, you can start tracking it through CEAC.  :)  The game now picks up speed.  :D 


Our ceac changed to Administrative Processing today!!! Yay!!!! We are hoping Ben will be here by Monday or Tuesday next week!!! :joy:

 

I'm totally down for a get together!!!! It would be fun!

Side notes: fate answered my question. We got an email with our tracking # today. Our ceac status updated but still said ready for two days post interview then went into AP and Issued in one day (Thurs). Got the email with courier delivery today and it will be delivered tomorrow (Tues) for the UK people interested in schedule...so a week and a day after our interview :) my dad booked jakes flight with united miles and the miles for one way from LHR were super low--so anyone who has miles, use them! We only had to pay $200 for our ticket! Not usually a fan of united but was surprised with the deals for one-way tickets + miles--hope the tip helps someone here :) now I can't wait the 11 days and am nervous about his Newark POE!


 

is your research trip up and you are flying home together?  that would rule.  and if you are, there should be zero issues at Newark.  :)  When we thought it would take longer, Johan and I talked about flying back to the US together.  But it was so fast, it works out better financially for me to just not even go to Ireland.  (go Blue, indeed.  I'm not a Michigan state fan.  :rofl: ) 

 

Also, it seems like we are quite regional.  Michigan-Indiana-Chicago people could actually have a get together.  As could California people.  ;) just saying.

It may have been in AP for like an hour, and you just happened to miss it.  I'd say it's normal.  Johan's took 2 days from issued to in his hand.  but Ireland uses regular mail, and he prepaid that at the embassy.  Good luck!  It won't be too long now!  :D

Semi off topic BUT has anyone else seen the new(ish) TV program called '90 days to wed'? It's about k1 visas and my golly gosh, I laughed so much watching it! They make it seem so easy to obtain yet the hard part is deciding whether to marry within the 90 days! If you want a little bit of an 'inside joke' chuckle watch it :')

 

Do you  mean "90 Day Fiance?"  If so, yes, it was a bit ridiculous.  some of the couples profiled have actually been VJ members.  there are several threads about it.  I agree; it was misleading, like they've only known each other for a short time, and THIS is when they're deciding to get married or not! I have been trying to order an official tax transcript for weeks and when I try to do it online, it says my social security number is wrong?!

 

 

That's wonky.  :(  The last several times I tried to go in the automated system online to print my 2011 one, it was all kinds of errors.   Makes me wonder what's up with the IRS right now!  I think what you have will be fine.  Check out the London info to see what they have experienced, in terms of documents.  You may want to email him copies of your W2's, just in case, but otherwise, I think you have it covered.  :D

I called USCIS again today to try and file another expedite. For anyone who didn't read my other post, I filed a request for expedite two weeks ago and it was denied because it "didn't fit the guidelines". What really happened is that the CSR didn't enter any of my information into the system. Literally.

When should I call NVC for case number?? It was sent to them on the 10th.

 

start calling 10 working days after it's sent.   :)  Congrats again!  Now it should really speed up.   :)

I am hoping someone might know what to do in this situation.

 

Situation: 

The I-129f was Approved on Apr 29th, 2014 but NVC still has not received the case file from USCIS. As per the USCIS customer service rep, the case file is still with the CSC. They have opened a case number to investigate why CSS has not sent the file to NVC when it has already been approved and they will get back to me by 24th of this month.  

 

In the meantime, my fiancee came to the US to visit me a month ago on her visitor visa. We were thinking of extending the stay since the whole process has been delayed by 7 weeks. 

 

My question is, incase the nvc receives the case file and manages it to send to the US Embassy in her country while she is still here, can she take her Medical in the US?

You can extend her stay, yes, as long as she doesn't overstay.  As for the medical, I'm not sure about that.  I think it needs to be done in the beneficiary's country, but there are also specific "civil surgeons" here in the US who are used for other parts of our process, once the beneficiaries are here in the US.  Ask in a more general forum, and I'm sure you'll get answers.   :)

Weird question: did anyone else receive their original I134 forms back along with transcripts/employer letter? Our interviewer and first window guy seemed interested in the originals but took none of my copies--did they make their own? Also how long before approval did your ceac. Status changed to Ap. Or issued? It says our case was updated today but it still just says ready. Leave it to me to worry when all seems well.....

 

For Johan, they kept his original birth certificate from South Africa (which is going to be a ###### to replace!  :ranting: ), and took no copies.  
Also, our CEAC status was changed by 10am, my time, which is 6pm, Dublin time, that same day.  It was changed to Issued 2 days later, then arrived, via mail, 2 days after that.

Now my only worry is if they will accept the certified copy with the seal. It says to please submit the original, but my original does not have a seal and looks very unofficial. Ugh, I should have sent it anyway just to be safe.

 

I kinda feel like a court-certified document is considered an original, for the reasons you suggested, fire, etc.  I could have never sent an original.  I never even got one when I got married, or divorced.  Even my "original" birth certificate is a copy from the state of California.  I'm anxious for an update to this.
