Brought my little one to meet him and he is totally in love with him. Its great seeing them interact. Holding out hope to get our NOA2 while here. He is getting anxious and he is the optimistic level headed one. Trying yo maintain the faith for an approval by Monday. We leave Monday afternoon and wont be back till our interview. This wait is agonizing.   That'd be the best gift to get while visiting, I think.    We kinda thought it would happen that way, as he's visiting this weekend for 2 weeks.  And I know what you mean about the level-headed one getting anxious.  It was beginning to happen here too.    Good luck!  it'll be soon. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February 2014 filers	Joan, I know that K2's are required to also have the fee paid.  I'm also pretty sure that they need the DS-160 filled out too, and the medical exam as well.  It's the same process as you are going through.  Also, if your son is over 16, he will also need his own police clearance.  We are also doing a K2 for a 10-year old.  all the fees are doubled since there's two of them.  Your positive vibes must be magical! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February 2014 filers	Hi!!  I was waiting to post here until I could tell Johan about our update (8 hour time difference... boooo!), but at 7:45 pm pacific time (California time!), I got an email from USCIS telling me that our petition was approved!    No text, although I'm signed up for both.  Handling it like a typically responsible, professional, level-headed, middle-aged woman, I started crying and shaking, and scanned through the email to make sure that it didn't say something like "you suck" or "keep dreaming, dorks."  USCIS handled themselves appropriately and just said that they sent us a notification on April 8th that the decision is in our favor.      I told my daughter (my erratic behavior was likely unnerving and alarming to a 15-year old girl).    Then stopped just short of an all-points bulletin to wake the man up!  He now knows, and between us, we probably lost about 100 lbs of stress.  What an incredible thing to share with someone.    Nikki, congrats to you!  For everyone else still waiting, keep the faith!  This group is such a blessing, and things are really moving.  Thank you to every one of you for the support and for sharing the stress, burden, happiness and experience.  Our NOA2 took exactly 60 days.  Now onto the next wait.  How long before I can call the NVC??  wink wink.   Tina got my MNL case number! yay! so excited!   woot! My SO is sleeping so she'll have to find out when she wakes up Our application was under expedited review so I don't want to give anyone false hope that this is the norm. I had a boss that was convinced that Rich was a completely made up person (thanks Catfish and MTV for putting that idea into every ones heads! lol) We might not even stay here in the long run!     I had a student tell me this morning, "it's a good thing you have met him.  He could have been catfishing you!"  Awesome.  lol   We feel the same way about residing here, long term.  We may not be here forever, but at least until our kids are out of school. I have people acting like my relationship isn't as valid or "real" as others because we are long distance most of the time. Trust me, there is no funny business going on!! It's actually pretty insulting because I have had relationships with people who live in the same city as me and those relationships were never as strong, healthy, or great as the one I am in now. I have friends that don't seem to take it too seriously, especially since getting engaged, and it's really just made me realize maybe they aren't as good of friends as I thought they were. It's sad when some people can so obviously see what we have and would never deny the love that's there and other people just sort of shrug it off. Oh well! I really cherish those who are supportive and both of our families are 100% on board.        Agree with this completely.  When I first started telling people (friends and family both) about our relationship, some were very skeptical. I got the typical, "how do you know he's not just using you for a green card?" and "Can you really know someone when you don't get to spend much time with them?" I'd say that no, he's not merely after a green card; we mutually made the decision for him to move here vs. me moving there.  And actually, I think he knows me better than just about anyone in my life.  When forced to communicate like we all are (emails, text, skype, facebook, etc), I think it makes us that much more in tune with our mates.  Sure, there are some who've been tricked, and I've read horror stories just in the few short months I've been here.  But that isn't exclusive to long-distance relationships.   Johan and I discussed how this would be a difficult process and that it'd make or break us.  It's making us.     Now if the USCIS would just freakin comply and move this forward!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February 2014 filers	It seems like lately the whole process, mailing to visa issued, is taking about 5 months, especially for people who are coming through countries that aren't red flagged. I really just want to have them here before school begins: mid August.  (But WAY sooner would be more than fine too.  )  All weekend, I was really upset that it didn't come through during my estimated timeline, and I find it extremely frustrating that people who mailed out in MARCH are getting their approvals.  But today, I'm more like, "meh.  it'll happen when it happens."  I don't know why the change, aside from knowing that there ARE people in high fraud countries who are still waiting for NOA2's or are in AP forever after their interviews.  I feel blessed that we're going through Ireland. Once we get our NOA2, I'm pretty sure the process will speed up considerably.  But (and this may seem bi-polar [smirk]) HURRY UP AND GIVE ME MY NOA2!!!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February 2014 filers	Hey guys, for those who got NOA2 already... how close was your actual date to the predicted date? Mine kept moving forward but in the past few weeks it has been going backwards.. It now says "Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between March 28, 2014 and April 5, 2014*.  If this date range has passed or your application is past due per USCIS processing timesthen you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition. If you have been approved please update your timeline."   I know it's only been two days past but I am sooo antsy!! When do you guys think I should call? I'm sure they'll just tell some generic answer about how the processing time is slow and how I need to wait 30 days and blah blah blah.    My timeline estimate is for March 24th-April 1st.     So very frustrating!!!   I think we actually aren't supposed to call until 5 months has passed, and I've also read here that really, they won't answer questions until it's been 6 months.    This is from a guy who is still waiting on his NOA2 from December group.      "I called USCIS today, and they told me the same old recording-like answer...   "sir, the normal processing time for I-129F petition is 5 months.  If you have not received anymore update within 5 months,  then you can call back and we can investigate your case". Omg!   Raquel, I hope you're right!  My NOA1 was in the first week of Feb, so I'm stressing!  But the cool thing (and this is what keeps me from crying in the fetal position daily.  ha!) is that he'll be here Saturday for TWO WEEKS, and it'd be pretty cool if we got NOA2 while he's visiting his future home.    (But really, I'm channeling Varuka Salt of Willie Wonka fame.  "I want it NOW!")    Our time is coming.  Meanwhile... I didnt expect that TSC is very fast in processing but i got my approval in 29 days only. Good luck to everyone! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February 2014 filers	I just did a little bit of research...  of the 43 timelines here on VJ who had NOA1 dates in the first week of February, 2014 (February 1st-7th.  these are people who filled out timelines, NOT only people who post on this thread), 15 have gotten their NOA2's and they represent various countries; not all of them are from the Philippines.  So that's a little over a third who've been approved.    We're getting there, February filers!!      Immigration timelines link is at the top of this page.
