K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS230 Part 1

Hi, we will be marrying in the USVI and you shouldn't have any problem entering as its a US territory. I would still mail a copy it...it won't hurt at all. Take care!

Awesome, thanks! Congrats on your approval!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS230 Part 1

Hello...I signed, scanned, then emailed our DS230 and it was accepted and followed by an email confirming receipt from the embassy.

Hi Garry and Ally,

I thought I read you could. Glad it worked for you! We will try it and maybe mail the origional one also as backup and take originol to interview. Hey I notice you live in USVI. I live in Virginia, but we are planning on getting married and honeymooning in St. Thomas, USVI so he will first come to Virginia on the K1 visa then we will fly to USVI a month or so later for the wedding/honeymoon obviously before we marry or he has EAD. Should we have any trouble doing that and making it back to the mainland, Virgia via Miami or Charlotte NC? Will they give him any problem entering USVI or leaving it? Or will will be fine since USVI is a territory of US? Thanks!!! Did you marry in USVI? We cannot wait!

Thanks,
Erica

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS230 Part 1

Hi Erica and Mark,

You will need to submit the form with an original signature so you can either drop it off or mail it.

Ok, thank you, JG&JB4L. Reason why I asked is because it actually says it on here, VJ under the Kinston Consulate info that it can be signed, scanned and emailed. and was update in 2009? Is that not correct?

Thanks,
Erica

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPlease tell what does this Mean

Well, now that he finally read the paper to me, I emailed the U.S. Consulate in Kingston requesting a new interview date. His interview originally was supposed to be on the Nivember 1st but had to get rescheduled to December 23rd. I only visited him once in July and that was because I started a new job and didnt have any time off to visit him. And he informed the IO that's the reason why I only came once. I would have went again in November but decided that it would be best to save the money and put it towards his paperworks because I felt strongly that he would have passed his interview in December. The petition expires on December 28th. No I am only one year older than my fiance. They asked him to write my name on a paper three times. Then he asked him to show him proof and my fiance showed him pictures phone records western union receipts. He asked him why we dont have anymore pictures and my fiance told him because the othre pictures are in his phone. Then the IO said to him well they have to do a background check on me( the peitioner) for further evidence. Then he gave my fiance a white sheet of paper stating that he wasnt convinced it was a bonafide relationship and that the peition will be sent back to the USCIS for further investigation then resent back to the Kingston Consulate. He gave back my fiance his passport book. But, my fiance believes that he wasnt denied because they didnt stamp his passport book which I think is irrelevant.

Oh ok. Maybe something to do with only one visit. idk. but they do not stamp his passport. if he got approved they would take the passport for visa printing and would have gave him a DHL slip at the DHL window as that is how they ship the passport with visa in it back to him. you need to get in touch with the embassy at the kingstonIV email address ASAP. oce the petition expires Im not sure what happens but i would do anything possible for you or your congressman or woman to get in touch with the embassy this week, you may want to call dos at 202-663-1225 or the number i have for kingtson consulate/embassy who u really need to get in touch with is 876-702-6000. I never called them so not sure if anyone answers, but def email them until they respond. Good luck

Well actually from my fiance reading the paper out to me. It states they will send the petition back to the USCIS which means that everything is going down the drain.

Sounds like the IO didnt think it was a bonified relationship from the proof presented. Have you contacted the embassy to see if they will do another interview with you there? Im confused from your timeline though it says you were approved 11/01 and are writing this post today? Did you already have another interview? How many times did you visit him and did you go to the first interview? you might want to get your congressman or woman involved and try not to let it get sent back. When does your petition expire? Do you have any more info from your fiance on the questions asked. Is there an age difference or any redflags?

CaribbeanJAMAICA police report

This police record is going to make my head explode!! Fiance went to the St. Mary location well over a month ago. When I was in JA we went there 3 times, each time the place was either closed or guard said it was the wrong day. (Found out later this location is only open for police records Tues, Weds, Thurs from 8:30 til 3 or so...)

Anyway, I left JA last week and fiance went there on Wednesday during open hours. The man at the front told him they can't find Fiance's form and that he must leave his number down and that they'll CALL him? What the....??? This was last Wednesday and he is going to go there again Tuesday and ask what's really going on here. I thought he had to go to Duke Street, but the officer did tell him and I when we went there that he can pick up the record right there in St. Mary... Ughhhhh

Then we happened to run into a police brethren he does know and told us about the Jamaican way of "expungement"... see: http://www.moj.gov.jm/expungement

Anyone ever gone thru this before? It says you are able to make a case for expungement if you were only locked up once and less than 3 years... hmmmm

Did you ever get the police cert from St. Mary?

Hopefully then it means they finished their search and the certificate is processing.

Ya hopefully. Processing is not checked yet.

My understanding is that the RGD reviews all of the marriage records to determine if they have a marriage recorded - so a status of record located would indicate to me that they actually found a marriage on record. Otherwise, they would not find any record.

Im not sure about that Sus but maybe. My friend ordered one a few weeks ago and it said record located and came back with no marriages found and a No imped Cert was produced and deliverd on the security paper saying no marriage record found. I think there has to be no marriages found record located or marriages found record located to get to the next step of certificate processing, then generated, then dispatched. But we will see. If it says Record not located on the status query (whith no check mark) the process is stopped and at a stand still until whatever record they are looking for is found and cannot get to the next step of certificate procceing on the status query.

In response to the question "Why a recent application would impact on the production of a birth certificate?" The recent or current application of a birth certificate may cause delays in the production a no-impediment certificate as the birth record which is used to produce the no-impediment certifcate is used to produce the birth certificate. Therefore the persons may not have their application satisfied in time for their interviews. You need to speak with a superviseor or the production manager to have your case expedited.

That is very interesting. How do you know this, or where did this info come from? Did it come from RGD? My fiance ordered his Express No imped Tuesday and status query today already shows record located. Not sure if that is good or bad. And he just got his birth cert not too long ago. However we did experience about a year delay getting the birth certificate.

The RGD has a number of intricate processes that must be observed when producing a certificate of any kind. A no impediment certificate involves a far more detailed process than marriage or birth certificate. If your fiance has applied for a birth certificate recently then he may experience some delays in obtaining the no-impediment. He should visit the RGD and speak with a supervisor inorder to have his documents expedited

Why would just applying for a birth certificate recently cause one to experience delays in obtaining the no impediment? Beyond normal delays?
