Don't understand the blueslip. It didn't state any specifics. Just generalizations that either you didn't have enough evidence or supporting documents. How do they expect you to remedy it? Are you able to talk directly with the Consulate Chief; perhaps via telephone, since you can't come to Vietnam? If not, perhaps consider an attorney, just in case they decide to send it back to USCIS.

It's a generic AP blue slip. They're not asking for any additional evidence or documents, and they don't expect him to address it. The blue slip basically just says they need additional time to process it. As Scott says, probably going to the fraud detection unit.

Hey friend

Asia: East and PacificThuan's experience and questions from August 19th interview
QUOTE (NgocThuan @ Aug 23 2009, 10:17 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I had already posted my experience at the HCM embassy; will actually outside the embassy. The following is Thuan's account:

Thuan gave them the appointment letter and got a number. She waited until 9am then they swore everyone in. A little past 10am, they call her number and Thuan gives the Vietnamese lady her packet 4 required documents. Thuan also slipped our timeline under the packet 4 stack of paperwork. The lady saw the timeline and kept it. Thuan later noticed that she didn’t keep it for another girl and the girl yells at the Vietnamese lady; they both argue then later the girl apologizes and convinces the lady to keep it. After looking at the packet 4 stuff, she asked Thuan a few questions like, have you ever traveled abroad? Have you ever been refused a visa? She also asked Thuan if she had another visa photo? Thuan said no then the lady took out one out of the 4 required photos. After that Thuan sat back down until they called her number again. A middle aged, white male interviewed her for about 20 minutes. The interview was conducted in English and Vietnamese. The CO and a Vietnamese lady translator had just finish yelling at another girl telling her to get out. Don’t stay here, go. Thuan wasn’t sure what exactly happened. The girl was already sitting down when Thuan first sat down after her first interview. She doesn’t know if the girl finished her interview and got blue and wouldn’t leave or something else happened. Thuan was a little nervous after that, but remained confident and composed. She said the CO kept a serious look on his face throughout the interview. He had her sign 230 and then did fingerprinting. He asked her right off to see our pictures; flipped through them pretty quickly and handed them to the translator to look at. He then proceeded to asked her:

1. Who is your fiancé’s best friend?
2. How does he know him?
3. How did you guys meet?
4. When did you meet?
5. How many times did you meet?
6. Why did you decide to get engaged so fast?
7. How many people attended your engagement party?
8. What does your fiancé do for a living?
9. Where does he work?
10. How many people work with him?
11. What are some of the names of your fiancé’s colleagues?
12. What are your wedding plans?
13. How much does it cost for one person (to feed them at the reception)?
14. How many people will attend?
15. Who will you invite?
16. What are your plans for a honeymoon?
17. Which hotel and the cost for hotel you will be staying at?
18. What is the cost of plane tickets to honeymoon destination?
19. Do you have any relatives in the U.S?
20. What does your fiancé do in his free time? She said I like to exercise.
21. What kind of exercises?
22. How many days of vacation per year is your fiancé allowed?
23. When did he first come to the U.S. (I was born in Vietnam)?
24. How did he come to the U.S.?
25. Who helped him come to the U.S.?

He didn't look at any other evidence (we had chatlogs, email, phone logs, trip receipts, boarding passes, ring receipt, diamond bracelet for her birthday receipt, cards, packages sent receipts and labels, and wedding plans stuff) and signed the pink slip and told her she passed. Thuan said he had both a blue and pink slip in front of him; he looked at the pictures one more time and then signed the pink. I've read in the forum that other people mentioned that the CO already had the pink ready to sign, and that they had already decided the case before the interview. Now I'm not so sure about that; perhaps they had both a blue and pink ready to be signed and the beneficiaries only saw one or the other at or near the conclusion of the interview. Just a theory. Anyways, I hope this information will help other couples prepare for their interviews.

Hello Trinh Ly
look at here brother

1. A very brief courtship followed by a plunge into matrimony;

2. A marriage ceremony arranged only a short time after petitioner arrives in the beneficiary’s country and they meet for the first time;

3. No common language;

4. Petitioner resides with family members of the beneficiary in the US;

5. Petitioner is employed by or has a business relationship with a relative of beneficiary;

6. Petitioner submits phone records that show he uses a residential phone number that is listed in the name of another person.

7. US divorce followed very quickly by an engagement to foreign beneficiary is often a red flag for consular officers.

8. There is little or no documentary evidence of the relationship prior to the actual engagement.

9. Long gaps of time between the petitioner & beneficiary being together in person.

10. Failure to disclose previous marriages;

Hello all,
I have been reading countless tails of people at HCMC getting a blue slip requesting either a Chronological Time Line, Proof of ex wife for Sponsor, and List of relatives living in the country of the sponsor. This is a trend that we need to band together to stop. I feel that if everyone that gets a blue slip for one or more of these reasons should contact their us congressman or their senator. I also feel we should all complain to the us consulate as well. When we complain we should all mention the benefit to the system if they were to simply tell us to provide this information. It would A. speed up the process, less blue slips=more interviews B. Less paperwork=less expense and C. Less people wanting to kill the Co's rofl.gif If enough of us complain about this maybe they will do something. There are thousands of people that do not use Visa Journey, and they have no idea that these things need to be sent in. I was one of those many people. I also know that many of you might be scared of reprisals from the co, so I would not do anything until after your partner is with you. Lets all band together and help get the pink's rolling again!!! Stop the crying and start the celebrating

I agreed with you in this point. However, we should have right drection to move on. In the other hand, it might be difficult for next persons who have to endure the bad results. We asking ourselves that we should have a leader in this matter.

Hello cao chi

So it looks like they're working pretty quickly on AP cases...JeromeBinh & ToanTien...looks like you guys may get results before the end of next week!! If not, have your SO go to the window to inquire about status... smile.gif GOODLUCK!

And LyTrinh too! smile.gif

Vi&Art...you guys should go ask too...

Hi Scott
good luck AP done
John
Keep us updated!!! smile.gif

Ly should be out next week... She went to the consulate last night and they said not done... we will notify you.. likely Tuesday or so before they are done if the timeframe after Johns call is the same as Ly's....
I got the call from DoS yesterday and I am out of NVC AP today.. so that scheming call is for sure an indicator that something is about to happen... with luck I will fax and email the DS230 and DS 2001 on Tuesday as they will get the file on Monday and I could get an interview as early as Dec 21 or 22... fingers crossed... if all goes well she could be here b4 the end of the year and married b4 Jan 1.... woo hoo on that tax deduction!!!!

If anyone else gets a call from HCMC let us know.. this is a good sign and we can count from that day how long it takes...

I have been in AP at NVC for a month now and someone called me from there asking for my ex wife... I knew who it was and what they were trying to do. I gave them her cell # and said call her if you want to talk to her but we are divorced and have been for some time. I expect to be off to the consulate tomorrow... Having been invesigated at NVC the way they just did, I expect no AP @ HCMC... This means interview before the end of the year.. but I dont see any way for her to get a visa before the end of the year and get married this year for tax purposes...

Hello you guy

We were not emailed when we were approved. I emailed them weekly, and when I nagged my husband to go out to the consulate and he finally did they told him they had completed processing his paperwork and to come back the next day with his passport to exchange slips.
